    So i tried to kill a ton of zombies to exploit looting them. Well its really hard to loot when you have huge amounts of zombies just re poping in your face lol. Love the mod big thumbs up.
     
    Would it be nice if they poped off screen but close yes. But this is still a great mod i like how you think

    So build 32.5 3 survival months in i just woke up from a loot run no zombie in the area. Goto bed wake up tend to the farm go to look around the base and i see this.

    The area has been pretty dead. Well it was untell today any way. Its not a huge deal i can kill them though the chain link fence but damn

    Welcome to Food Expiration Date forum thread.
     
    When I play with my girlfriend, we always have thousand of problems to administrate the food before they rotten, so I decide create a mod that help us in this scenario. I think not exists a mod with expiration date in food so I hope this mod will be useful for the community too. With this mod, the players in a single game now can knows the status about any food gets.
     
    Also, the mod include a trait called "Eye to food" that increases the information about status rotten food, including the hours. I hope this helps in your days into the hell and safe your body one day more.
     
    The mod is located to english, spanish, polish and german. Feel free to amplify and post the result. I'll add the new locations posted to the mod. Special Thanks to Svarog and Blindcoder with his translations!
    The located files are in .../media/lua/shared/ (Remember rename folders and beginning of the file)
     
    Any suggestion or report bugs, please use this tread.
     
    How to Use:
    Only that you need is move the mouse over the food and the new option in the Tooltip tells the status of a food and time left to expire if you have the new trait "Eye to Food"

    With the new zombie count i have had to turn to other means to kill zombies other then melee or guns. For the 1st time i have started to use fire traps. It works but i have 1 issue with burning zombies.
     
    Why dose it take 5 in game hours for a zombie to die? If they are indeed a flaming ball that have flesh and cloth falling off them to start fires or are burning so hot that it starts fires. I would have to wager that at most 30 mins of in game time would pass before the brain would boil eyes pop, eardrums rupture, and the nose fall off. If they survived they would be a smoldering shell of a zombie unable to detect anything.

    Loving survival now
     
    Day 1
    load up 2 zombies on my window run to kitchen grab first weapon i find a butter knife. So i let them in and kill them. run back and loo though the cabinets find 2 spoons and a fork. about that time i hear zombies knocking on my door. so i run though my window circle around 5 zombies right outside my door. I spoon them to death. unlock my door and go upstairs find a baseball bat a Normal hiking bag and move out to try and clear around my house. 59 zombies later i fall into bed and pass out.
     
    Total kills: 67
     
    Day 2
     
    Grab a bite to eat and a drink run over to the shed next door find some nails glue and a hammer fix up my bat and decide to go clear out Cortmans. Run into 3 hordes of about 37 total. kill them off and clear the glass from a window and hop in. kill 3 zombies in the house clear out the medical supplies and run back to my safe house. Run into about 15 more zombies on the way back. Grab a bite hit the bed asleep.
     
    Total kills: 122
     
    Day 3
     
    While i was sleeping a gunshot goes off and when i awake i hear banging on my door........ i quickly turn my broken bat into a spiked bat climb out my 2nd story sheet roped window out the back. Sneak to the front to find 12 zombies. Kill them fix up my bat with the last 5 nails. and decide to clear out the whole neighborhood. 41 kills later im weaponless used everything i had including the left over fork. Ran off what was left following me and went home. Closed the game to report my findings.

    like 20 secs from Cortmans. Don't get me wrong im a vet i can take it. But i think things might need to be looked at 175 kills in the first 2 and a half days is crazy. And its not like i went looking for trouble i was just clearing around my area and trying to loot.

    I would love this as a mod. But TBH i wouldn't want it in the normal game. It would make for some very interesting game play to have zombies eating  animals, berries, and your unprotected tomato plants The zombies can smell and it would be cool if you cooking attracted them not because you are making noise but the fact they smell the food.

    In a recent discussion on this thread, the topic of whether or not zombies eat only fresh human bodies came up and I made a suggestion for sandbox. I thought I'd ought to put it here to so people can discuss any aspects of it without derailing the other topic further.

     

    New sandbox setting: Pickiness!

     

    Picky - Only eats fresh human corpses

    Less Picky - Eats any human corpse it can find, fresh or stale.

    Not Picky - Eats any corpse or meat it can find, human or animal, fresh or rotten.

    Omnivore - Will eat any food it can find, vegetable, human, or animal, fresh or rotten.

    Progressive - Starts Picky, but later becomes Less Picky, then stops at Not picky.

     

    Sounds nice?

    Hi all.
     
    I've made a mod in which killing a zombie spawns two zombies nearby after a short delay unless the original zombie was on fire. There will soon be options for whether fire should stop them respawning, the delay before the new zombies are spawned and the distance they should spawn at.
     
    My hope is that this could lead to some interesting gameplay by forcing you to think about whether it's worth killing one zombie now only to have to deal with more in a few seconds. If you have any suggestions or feedback then please do voice them so that I can improve the mod.
     
    This works on the latest IWBUMS (as of the 20th of June 2017).
     
    To install all one must do is put the zip into their Username/Zomboid/mods/ folder, right-click it and select "Extract All" in the drop-down menu.

    I could do pizza toppings and have you build the kind of pizza you want.. Do a base(cheese pizza) then put topping on it as desired here are a few off the top of my head.
    Hamburger: Patty+cheese pizza
    Bacon cheeseburger: Cheese pizza + Bacon + Patty
    Veggie: Cheese pizza + Eggplant + Broccoli
    Peperoni: Cheese pizza + Peperoni 
    The Dead Head: Rotten Cheese Pizza + Rotten Cheese + Rotten Dead Rat(Bet the zombies would love this)

    I wanted to Start a food expansion that i could put in foods suggested by everyone not just foods i want to put in. So I am doing just that. Feel free to suggest any food item you would like to see in game. If its something that the average Joe could make and fits in the pz world i will add it.

    The idea
     
    To slowly have the map detoriate over time, nature grows wild and the urban areas slowly decay.
     
    What will the mod do?
     
    Currently the planning is for Erosion to add the following effects to the game:
     
    Plantlife:Nature will slowly start to take over, popping up on natural tiles. Currently plants have 6 stages (low grass to tree), only the most fertile spots will reach the maximum. Random special objects with a very low chance of spawning (imagine a dead campfire and the likes). Streets:Big cracks in the road that gradually become more intense. Patches of cracked road where grass and stuff grows through. More litter and garbage appearing over time. Random special objects with a very low chance of spawning (a pile of zombie corpses for example). Houses (exterior):Cracks that can appear on over time. Vines that slowly takover a part of a wall. Windows have a chance to be broken over time (idea by RobertJohnson) Doors have a tiny chance to pop open at some point. Random stuff like smudges and what not.

    You did a good job taking all that stuff and putting it together. Now we have all good food in one place.
    Fixes to do - there are items without icons assigned (BTW nice to see my icons in this mod - 'chip' me in the credits ). It's not enough to just to copy the icon into folder, you need to assign it to the item and load through the lua script. String 'Time:' in the recipes must/should look like that: 'Time:100.0,' - i'm not sure 100% but it seems that all original recipes are written in this way.

    Hey RJ, what about instead of ETAs, you borrow (and slightly adapt) a concept from agile programming methods and do this:
     
    Look at the stack of bugs/featuers/stuff to be done
    Decide on a short list of things you are going to work on for the next mini-release (and don't add anything to them once decided.)
    Post those things you plan on working on.
    Mark them off as you do them (or cancel them if they can't be done in this iteration)
    Release the mini-version when done.
    Start over at step one.
     
    This is just a thought. At least there would be no ETAs. There would be just a list of things to do before release, and people could see progress towards the next release without any ETAs. If features are being kept secret you don't have to share them publicly, just write 'part of a cool new surprise' or omit them from the public list.
     
    It would help with communications with us fans. If your list looked like:
     
    Things for the next release:
    1. Fix a problem with the wall in building X.
    2. Fix a problem with Ham not rotting like it should.
    3. Add in a new kind of item.
    4. Fix problem with some new moodle.
     
    And someone asked "when will the new version be released?" You can just say "I'm having problems figuring out why the wall in this building lets you see through it. When that is done, I will release. Maybe you could help me by doing X, Y, and Z to test out the problem? Then I could release faster."
     
    You'd be both giving a helpful answer to everyone who reads your post and either getting someone to help you do useful testing or shutting them up if all they're doing is whining and not helping.
     
    I wish I could write French better, because I know English is your second language and I wrote a long and technical post, but the limited French I can speak isn't enough to have a meaningful technical conversation.

    As a separate light and funny thought, since English isn't your first language:
     
    We are referred to as 'fans.' That term is a shortened form of the original term 'fanatic' which is defined as: 'someone filled with extreme, obsessive, or single-minded zeal' Some other words with similar meaning are 'radical,' 'extremist,' and 'maniac.'
