We could use a wider range of light sources for our bases.
Currently, the players choices for lighting up their abode are:
- wall scones
- pre-built structures (ceiling lights, street lamps)
- table lamps
- flashlight on pillar
Good stuff and all, however:
- As you can see, most of them are from the pre-apocalypse - not exactly giving an apocalyptical impression.
- Then, the only craftable and fitting one relies on batteries. Which is inconvenient because your average player usually runs a generator in their base.
- Finally, the wall scones and lamps - the ones that are wired and can be moved - don't light up larger/outside areas well.
So, we need lights that cover wider areas, are hooked up to the grid, and give atmosphere. I propose:
String Lights
Just some lightbulbs and electrical wire, you can hang them all around your base walls. Great at making broad areas well lit, such as the outdoors. And, we would have more purpose for all those light bulbs lying around.
Lamp on Piller
But, one that can be connected to your genny, rather then running batteries. It could either be built outright, or you could convert a regular lamp on pillar. Useful for lighting up long stretches, like a path, road, or a corridor.
More suited to the survivor's lighting needs, and gives better options for decoration. Also, we would have more use for all those spare electronic scrap and parts, as well as getting more utility out of the electrical skill.
