There are hairstyles and rubber band in the game, so why not use it?
For "Tie Hair for ..." to PonyTail/Bun/Back - require Rubber Band in  inventory, and if "Untie Hair", then the Rubber Band will return to inventory.
To make such trifles in mod is not serious, it is better to include in the main game.
There are very few changes in the code (see here), and it will look good together with the addition of makeup.

For some reason, the sound when filling a pot in the river is that of a water tap. I think you plan to change soon, but anyway, I show my discomfort in this topic.

It's a cool idea but, as was said, keeping a log of which books you have is a thing you can do with good old notepad.exe or a piece of paper.

You can write down everything you need on a sheet of paper or a notebook and then mark everything you've got during the run.

I noticed that the ability to jump taller fences was added. This is a really good feature and I'm glad it's finally in the game.

The first time I tried this out there was a crowd of zombies on the other side and I immediately died.

My first thought was, if I saw over the fence before I jumped, I would never have hurled myself into a crowd of zombies like that. It would be helpful if the first time you clicked "E", you pulled yourself up, enough to see over, and a second press would make you jump all the way over.

As an asian myself I find it a bummer to not be able to use vinegar into my food. I mean it's a main ingredient in most foods for us and I don't see why it can be used as well in pz, americans use vinegar on their food too right? this would be a good addition cause I have a stockpile of vinegar and I dont need them to preserve some veggies since they cost alot and you only get a few days worth.

Mkartush reacted to DiviChang in Noise when taking damage
Add the feature for the character to make "noises" when taking damage, and from what damage you get dictates how loud your character makes. It doesn't make sense for my character to be a silent badass and take a broken leg like a champ. At the least when taking any significant damage you should be screaming in pain. This adds one more level of consideration when fighting zombies, if you fight zombies you run the risk of getting hurt and potentially attracting more zeds to you.  This doesn't apply to exercise fatigue.

This is how I'm planning this would work out.

Minor pain/ scratches - Character gasps or grunts similar to a whisper range.
Pain/ Laceration  -  Sound level should be higher than whisper but lower than yelling
Severe Pain/ Deep wound - Yell in pain
Agony/ fracture & Burns - Scream in pain and continuous grunts until medical treatment

Traits to accommodate the feature: Suggested by Furizu
Positive: Stoic [-4] Able to endure pain more silently
Negative: Wimp [+4] Doesn't like and can't stand pain.

Mkartush reacted to Aelipse in Effects of Depression
    1) Depressed: The character not only takes longer to finish actions, but she also lags one or two seconds in commencing those actions.
    2) Severely Depressed: The character suffers from suicidal tendencies. If she has a knife within her reach, she will try to cut her wrists. If there is a gun in her inventory or close to her, she will try to shoot herself.

The idea came to me when I saw people survive all winter on worms, and the only ill effect they got from the depression moodle was taking a bit longer in transferring items and building stuff. I think mental health problems should have much graver effect on the character and there should be some more incentive for players to avoid eating rotten food / raw worms for days.

The lagging action idea (1) has to do with the person's lack of motivation to do anything (even surviving). She reacts to the player's input with a few seconds of delay, which can be deadly in presence of zombies or hostile players. The more severe depression (2) should make the character actively seek death where it is quick enough. I think it goes quite well with the overall dark theme of this amazing game.

EDIT: If the suicidal behaviour is too severe of a change, a heightened risk of injury and unwillingness to run could supplement the low mental state just fine.

Mkartush reacted to Burger_Time in Character background generator.
I've had one pretty interesting concept on my mind for quite a bit now that I think would help expand on the game's RPG aspect once the final iteration of NPCs come out, which is character backstory generator.

Basically, the idea behind it is Rimworld's childhood/adulthood thing, except working the other way around: instead of character's abilities and skills varying with background, we could have some randomized brief stories of our characters that would reflect character's traits, occupation and maybe even scenarios they're in.

A general background would consist of a three different parts:
    1. Character's birth date (If age selection will be a thing) and place (may be completely randomized with some bias towards the towns near the game's setting).
    2. How did character acquired their traits.
    3. How did character get into the situation they're in right now (Especially fun if some scenarios like Prison/Hospital escapes are implemented)
In between those there would be some random bits added such as education, moving from town to town etc.

For example, I created a character: a chain smoking, unemployed brawler and runner named Chris Anderson, born on 3rd of December, 1960.
After making sure my dearest boy Chris looks all fine and dandy the game would present me with something like this:

Chris Anderson was born on 3rd of December of the year 1960 in Nashville, Tennessee.
At the age of 13 Chris has joined school's Baseball team. He became quite good at sprinting.
Chris has studied in the local school until the age of 14 (random number), when he and his parents moved to Louisville, Kentucky.
At the age of 17 he has acquired a smoking habit and became interested in illegal street fights and even had a chance to take part in a few.
After completing high school at the age of 19 he started attending local University but soon dropped out.
Until the age of 33 worked as labourer, and currently resides in Muldraugh, Kentucky.

This short story would then be used as material for small talk of the character, personality and maybe it'd even create relatives, friends and their initial relationships (Let's say, Chris' mother's name was Angelina Anderson, and his father's name was Michael Anderson).

I think this feature would make characters have a lot more depth to them and the way their relationships progress. Besides that, it'd be really fun to see how it could describe some absolutely fucked up characters like morbidly obese, ugly asthmatic cops people are able to create.

Please don't forget about animation of sitting on sofa (chair etc.) and lie down on sofa (bed).
And will be cool if we see how character sleep (just remove black screen) - just animation when character lie on the bed.

P.S. Also you can add character crawl animation.

This suggestion is great from my point of view. Also the quality of the roof may be determined by carpentery skill as well as with walls. Bad quality roof might not fully protect from the rain and cold, while top level roof will have a 100% protection. Also it might be usefull to make it craftable only from level 6, so character could build it similarly to building floor instead of roof (as we do now). It is a high-skill ability to make roofs, rather difficult to implement (probably) but visually it would look great.

With the tailoring skill in the game, I think it'd be a helpful addition to be able to make your own clothes instead of just repairing what you find. Sheets could be cut and stitched together into light & airy clothes like tunics or ponchos, perfect for hot summers late into the apocalypse. Additionally, tarps could be used for waterproofing existing clothes or even making cheapo waders to keep your legs dry. Later on when animals and hunting are in, pelts would definitely be useful for making winter clothes. Maybe even pillows could come into play as padding for warmth and protection.

I really like the plane/helicopter crash Idea. Somewhere in random place outside towns (to avoid bugs), similar to car crashes on the roads. Military helicopter with some weapons and ammunition (it could crash after the helicopter event and attract nearby zombies) or small private plane crashed with some valuable supplies.

Mkartush reacted to Sedgwick in VCR's and Tapes
    HI all!

I thought VCR's and video tapes would be a really neat and appropriate addition for the game, considering the time the knox event takes place. By '93 Kentucky had close to 2 dozen Blockbusters, and plenty of other smaller rental locations.

The 80's and 90's had all sorts of educational tapes, so skill tapes would work well too. And the easiest addition, boredom/stress reduction videos. It would give TV's a use after the initial programs are off the air, and players would have to take the risk of turning up the volume to listen to the tape.

    Thanks for your time!

We can build walls and doors on level 3 carpentry, but there is for some reason not a single way to make a roof for your own base, unless u wait untill level 6 carpentry, build stairs and build a floor on a second story.

    So...
Can we please get an abbility to build roofs? uwu

Yup, something like with berries or mushroom (where you need to have a herbalist knowledge to identify the poisonous ones) or nutritionist (where without it you can only know the nutrition of the packaged food) – if you find a single pill, you shouldn't know what it is. I think Neo Scavenger had a similar system?

Maybe I'm bringing up an old topic, but... Also, it would be possible to add "ignorance" of these very pills in those characters who do not have knowledge in first aid. Which can be obtained from the log, for example. Or, of course, if the character was a paramedic.
