I'm finding that if you increase the time control to something above real-time (2x or above) then the xp gains you get from watching the Life and Living shows are reduced.The xp reduction seems to be somewhat proportional to the speed at which the game is running when watching the show, with normal speed giving the most xp.
I included two screenshots, the first was after watching the first episode of the cooking show at 1x speed where I got just over level 1 cooking.
In a second world I watched the same episode but at the highest game speed and only got half of the xp required for lvl 1 cooking.
