  1. I tend to never take this trait because it actually hurts the experience of playing the game to me, the player. It's a nice touch of realism, but I'd like the handicap to apply to my character's abilities but not actually negatively affect the game itself. Maybe a toggle? Thanks
  2. It would be pretty sweet to have a "hardcore" car setting where you have to hit the clutch and shift gears manually, similar to the hardcore reloading setting that requires you to manually reload magazines and rack the gun. However, my guess is that this would require a huge code overhaul. Right now the dash probably just displays a different gear number and plays a different engine sound depending on what speed you're going, but your speed is just calculated exactly like your character's movement but with different acceleration/max speed settings. Adding manual transmissions would be rebuilding that basically from scratch. I imagine adding the ability to set your max speed with a keypress would be comparatively simple. That seems like a good compromise and one that could be implemented sooner.
  3. I wonder if this means you could eventually find the missing key to a car by luring zeds over to it.
  4. I noticed that there are two kinds of jacket that are both called "jacket" even though they have different weights, and they protect different areas. Can you rename the longer one "long jacket"?
  5. I agree with your suggestion, but did you know you can press Z even when you're outside the car? You can also type the number of the door you want to enter. So if you want to enter the driver's seat, just get sorta close to the car and then press "Z" then "1" and you'll hop in.
  6. I want this so badly. I really dislike that you have to rapidly press W if you want to go at a safe speed. Maybe make it so that you can set a max gear?
  7. Sure, but there aren't as many ramifications for that here. I guess it might make the occasional archived forum discussion obsolete, but it's not as though we need to worry about mail not getting delivered. If I were to add this as a workshop mod I would just make the numbers increase by tens or hundreds, allowing you to subdivide them easily in the future.
  8. A huge portion of the game is spent on organization and looting; there are a few changes that would make that process much more pleasant. These are not quite as fun or exciting as new features, but I believe these would provide a huge boost to the player's experience with (relatively) little work. Namely: More sorting categories to break up the huge amount of useful items whose category is "Item" Split "literature" into: "learning" (skill books/mags), "literature" (newspapers, magazines, etc.) , and "logs" (notebooks, diaries, sheets of paper) Rename the skill books so that they automatically sort by Textbook/Magazine > Skill Type > XP level Perhaps harder to implement: Ability to rename all objects. This would be quite useful for organizing equipment, tools, and clothing, as well as provide more immersion for things like dolls or favorite pens. It would even help for food if you needed to remind yourself which head of lettuce has been sitting out longer Change "annotated map" objects to include the town's name, i.e. "Rosewood Map - Annotated" Be able to "combine" many more multiple-use items (like how you can take two 50% alcohol wipes and make one 100% alcohol wipes). It'd be great for non-perishable foods, gasoline, etc.
  9. New structures get added to streets all the time in real life, and if you added a building you'd have to change the map images anyway, though, right? Grid is still a fantastic idea, though.
  10. The easiest way would just be to put the numbers and streetnames on the in-game maps. It would only take editing like five image files.
  11. Title says it all, it'd be great if there were a way to tell devs and other players the location of something without requiring a debug tool or the map project website.
  12. Are there any plans to address the fact that TV shows don't award full experience if time is fast-forwarded when the show is on?
  13. There's a garage in rosewood that continously generated an endless stream of console errors Attached: screenshot and console.txt console.txt
  14. On a mac When I rename an item and hit "okay" it renames the item but the little window does not close. Renaming new items opens up new windows that also do not close. Reloading the save closes them.
  15. I made a post about it in the bug report section but I thought I'd mention it here as well since it's pretty major. I'm on a mac. The game basically freezes input, behaving as if I was still holding down whatever key I was pressing when it froze. It also stops updating the screen, but continues to "play" the game and sound effects. It continues to play even after I alt-tab out to the desktop and only stops once I force quit. So I can hear my guy continuing to walk, inevitably into a crowd of zombies who start to rip him apart. This behavior is still present when I reload, or if I start a new game. Restarting the computer fixes it, but it re-appears soon after. I verified file integrity but it was fine. No mods are enabled. Not sure what is triggering it. There have been lots of zeds around, so maybe that's it? I attached my console.txt and saved game in the other thread.
  16. On a mac I can hear my dude continuing to walk into a horde of zombies as they rip him apart. The game is playing but thinks I'm still holding down the 'D' key and doesn't respond to any additional input. Tabbing out and force quitting seems to save the game and when I reload the screen is still frozen and the game picks back up, D key still held down, screen still frozen, guy still getting ripped apart. I'm attaching my console.txt. and my save game. 28-10-2019_11-58-11.zip console.txt
  17. Attaching four images here. One pair is taken in the morning, one with the lights on, the other off. The other is taken in the evening, one with the lights on, the other lights off. Basically the lights don't do anything.
  18. It's not clear what you are trying to say in #4
  19. Devs have confirmed that there is no insulation right now. They are planning to add it back in later. They probably are doing this to reduce the number of bugs they need to fix in this build.
  20. Also they will fail if they are too encumbered. But there is an animation for that so you would know it was happening. Just HOLD e when you're standing next to the fence
  21. I'm getting this too. I'll try to post a screenshot later but basically it's just always somewhere between lit and dark and the lights don't change anything one way or the other.
