There is also a search function for the mobile version of the forums as well. In the upper right oft he page, there's a box with 4 smaller boxes inside it. Touch this, and then select the SEARCH magnifying glass from the popup menu. Ta-Da!As for amputation with the hopes of avoiding infection, I've never found it to be a realistic concept. Assuming the infection is spread through your bloodstream, you have about one minute before your heart has pumped the blood throughout your body, and I'd say it's safe to assume that means the infection along with it. You would have to hatchet your arm or leg within a matter of seconds after getting bitten or scratched.

The gateway drug hypothesis is nothing but a unsubstantiated belief system. There's no evidence whatsoever that it works that way, and it's not likely there ever will ever be any, because it's going to be very hard to prove or disprove it. Your personal anecdote also proves exactly nothing. Anecdotes never do.

@Keepbro 1) As luck would have it, we have examples of countries that have (partly) decriminalized drugs. This doesn't seem to result in an increase of drug related problems, in fact it seems to reduce it.

    2) Comparing the use of drugs, (like, say, drinking a cup of coffee or a couple of beers,) to honor killings is ridiculous.

It might be possible, but unfortunately I don't know exactly how to do it. The game currently uses preset coordinates for spawning locations (48 of them) when the game is first launched.

If someone more savvy than me knew how to write a script that auto-generates a text file with the random map coordinates that autosaves/overwrites the current random spawn location file each time the game is launched, then I think it would work. I am not positive, but I think you would have to relaunch the game for each new totally random start. That's not the biggest deal breaker I guess.

Its a little over my head though, but maybe if I get some free time I'll look into doing this. After all we live in a day and age where ignorance is a choice

EDIT: another big challenge would be not spawning in some locations and limiting the randomness (which is why I think they have the current system). Imagine spawning in the far far SW corner of Muldraugh. You'd probably die of hunger or thirst before making it to any source of water. I guess you could forage for berries along the way...

Actually, you'll probably be okay if you do just that. Even if it's contaminated your immune system will probbly take care of any microbiological threat. How do you think people not only survived but thrived before basic hygiene became popular a couple of centuries ago?

    Thanks for the feedback Marinus!

Please let me know if you encounter any problems. I tested about 10 new characters of varying professions and had a mix bag of spawnings in both Muldraugh and West Point.

    *UPDATE* 8/6/16 - Version 2.1 Completed!

    *Tested in IWBUMS v35.6*

*Works for both MP and SP*

*Does not currently work with any maps other than the vanilla maps*

    *bug fixes*
spawn location in the 'Car Repair Shop' has been updated to prevent zombies from killing a player on spawn. I have finished work on adding in over 150 additional spawn points to the spawning system.

The current version adds additional spawn points and allows for:
A 'near' random spawn location across the entire map. Since there are over 200 spawn locations, it will appear more like it was a completely randomly generated location instead of the few permanent spawn locations that we have now and we all know. They will not be tied to a profession. All professions can spawn in all locations. Professions are 'weighted' to spawn in more likely locations at about the same % that The Indie Stone had. This is a small % and is roughly around 10% (This may be balanced in the future). Chefs will more likely spawn in restaurants, police will more likely spawn at the police station, forest rangers will more likely spawn in the forest, etc. However, it is still more likely that you will spawn randomly elsewhere. Likely never have the same start twice! With over 200 spawn locations on the map, you would need A LOT of play-throughs to have the same experience twice! Nearly 100 new spawn locations for Muldraugh and West Point and 3 new spawning regions: 'Random, KY (entire map)', 'Dixie, KY', and 'Valley Station, KY' (names taken from Blindcoder's map or in game sprites). This will allow for a lot more diversity to game starts. Spawning in a cabin in the woods, on a farm, alone in the middle of nowhere, in your office bathroom, behind a bar, or in a jail cell will now all be possible among others. This can greatly increase the RP element. Less spawn camping in MP since it will be nearly impossible to be where a character will spawn. Spawn locations are less likely to already be looted in MP for new characters. On the flip side some fewer will more likely already be looted. Some spawn locations will be easier than others; some will be more difficult than others. In MP you can choose to spawn at Twiggy's. If you and a friend want to spawn together, you can now do so! Grab a beer together and survive the apocalypse! WARNING: OUTDOOR SPAWNS MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE ZOMBIE FEASTING. This is because zombies are only prevented from spawning indoors where a player spawns, not outdoors. The amount of outdoor spawns are relatively low and most are out of urban areas so you still have a good chance, but be prepared to wake up from your nap in the woods and find zombies around

How about having a random spawn region instead of having to select Muldraugh or West Point? You could choose 'Random' (as well as 'Muldraugh' or 'West Point') and it would spawn you at any of the various spawn points in both Muldraugh and West Point.

Also could we get some spawn points added to the North somewhere in the area that was added with the 'Mall' expansion?

I am assuming with the upcoming map expansion that there will be new spawn points added in. This might be a good time to make some revisions on the existing spawn system.

I can appreciate wanting a random button for town selection. I know the map loosely, recognizing a few distinct blocks of each town and their position relative to each other.
I've spawned a few times and not known exactly where I was for a few in-game days, and the effect is disorienting. While I do usually use blindcoder's map to get my bearings in the first few days, I could understand how not even knowing which town you're in could add to the overall experience.
In short, I'm for the idea. I don't see how it could bother those that don't choose to use it, and for those that do it could help immerse them more at the start if each playthrough.

Cars will most likely be unable to transverse very far on the roads for many reasons.
1 - Gasolene, its a limited supply, and hard to find
2 - Durability, there are swarms on the roads, a car won't be able to plow through the mobs, animals, zombies, players
3 - Obstructions - Poor driving, and cars on the road. The roads are bound to not be clear, it'll take months to push the cars
to clear the streets for any kind of driving.

Also, I googled on the pressure a skull can withstand and the lowest estimate I found was 520 pounds, so if someone steps on your head, it probably won't result in traumatic brain injury Because the skull can easily withstand that kind of pressure.

I redesigned the mod to add two Cheat traits, one adds 1000 points to spend and the other does that + adds skill bonuses. Enjoy.

Remember to place the folder into your C:\Users\%username\Zomboid\mods directory and then activate the mod from the MODS menu after you launch the game.
Also, sorry for the delay but I had a ton of stuff to do IRL and I couldn't even get 6 hours of sleep

Uh... did you place that mod into the game directory? Because you were not supposed to do that. Mods go into C:\Users\%username%\Zomboid\mods otherwise they replace the game files and mess stuff up.

I'll make a trait version of the mod later.
