Marinus reacted to Suomiboi in Restrains & More (Idea Compilation)
IIRC one of the reasons was that it takes too much power away from the player and in that sense takes control away from you. It's generally an un-fun idea to take control away from the player.

I like the idea of needing to build planter boxes. Rooftop gardens are very real things that exist today in the real world for growing plants where plants should not be able to grow. Then again green roofs do exist as well where the roof of a building is covered in soil. Gardens are then grown on the roof. Do a quick search and you will be inundated with examples.

Heck a Wholefoods nearish me has one as well as Fenway Park (beloved home of the Boston Red Sox)

So saying that you can't put dirt on a impervious tile such as asphalt, concrete, or a roof and grow food is obviously an ignorant comment.
This to me looks like A LOT less work than trying to bust through concrete or asphalt with hand tools. Also I suspect that the soil under concrete or asphalt is probably not very fertile. It hasn't been exposed to any nutrients or nitrogen for as long as the impervious surface has been there.

I fully agree with potted plants. Buckets, boxes, crates, pots also bags should be possible.
Potted plants should give the player less harvest.

What @Crashdummy11880 says. But with the addition that, while I agree with his assessment that it's stupid, it would make more sense to make a garden on top of asphalt/concrete, than try to smash your way through it with the use of hand tools.
I think potted plants would be a realistic solution to your problem and a good addition to the game.

You ever saw how roads or foundations are build? I think in a Zombie Apocalypse noone would try to dig trough such things with a sledgehammer.
But the actual way "Sprinkling a bag of dirt on the ground to magically make a cell farmable" is completely stupid as well.

Their needs to be a comfortable rating for sleeping anyway, it's rather ridiculous you can get a good night of sleep on a kitchen chair, and that there's no reason to prefer a bed over all the other options. Well, I roleplay my reasons in, No gamy shenanigans for me, no sir, I take my PZ gaming seriously.
So I'm all for sleeping on the ground (and everywhere else too basically), but as a last resort thing only, that restores only a bit of fatigue and/or takes a long time to do so.

Maybe a perk like in Rouge Survivor that lets you sleep everywhere with a lower penalty?

I'd love to see you get "accustomed" to what you sleep on as well.

What do you think about this? Equipped items go at the top of the list.

Marinus reacted to AnthonyDoKo in Relaxing in a shower
My friend had the idea of adding basic showers to the game. Not as a Sims hygiene type thing, but as a way to relieve stress and depression. It would feel very immersive and humanizing for the character to be like "I really want to just take a shower"
The implementation seems like it would be easy, the hardest part being the new animations. Also, I was disappointed a long while back when I first found a yoyo and couldn't use it. Being able to do small things like that would make it feel a lot more like a real world. Obviously there are more important things to do right now, but thought I'd throw this out there(mainly the shower bit, as making usable items is sort of obvious).

Marinus reacted to Fryhizzle in More Books
I also wondered about this. It would be really simple to add into the game.
I would also like to see temporary bonuses from carrying certain items. An example would be a temporary bonus point to first aid when carrying a book like Gray's Anatomy or something similar. Once you dropped the book, you'd lose the bonus.

Marinus reacted to Blasted_Taco in Zombie horde should pile up
First thing that came to my mind, i remember laughing out loud in the theater watching that.
Please no, don't let that scene happen in PZ, there are better ways to fix the flying fortress than doing this, make the zombies be able to grab the rope and break it by pulling it by mistake and leave the player without a base, but please don't bring WWZ tier action into the game..

Someone who knows Afterlife! Have an old PC Gamer disk (their first CD-ROM) with the demo. Ha ha.
Can't believe it was released in 1996, considering the graphics.

They could have it on Mondays, and call it the Mondoid™

He probably shouldn't, but he obviously does. In the end you can't really control how you should feel about something, not even if you can rationalize what you should feel.
I don't really know the devs, but I know their game, and it's obvious that they do their utmost best to deliver a good product. In fact, if they polished and balanced the current version a bit, (and I mean a bit, the game is more stable than most and there aren't a lot of serious bugs AFAIK) and decided to release it as the final version, it would be a good game that could easily be sold for the price it's sold now. In an alternate universe where the NPCs where never mentioned, it wouldn't even be a real problem if they were lacking.
And if some dweep decides to rant on the internet that all your effort makes you the worst dev team ever, I understand it's the kind of thing that could really fuck up your day.

I think of you guys as the George R.R. Martin of indie game devs. It's a bit of a waiting game, but the stuff you deliver is totally worth it.
And there is a lot of unexpected death in the process
And zombies
Please don't hire GRRM to do the NPC programming for you
