  1. You're basically making several professions pretty much nearly useless basically. The incentive to go for veteran rather than police officer is the desensitized trait. Police officer has better aiming & reloading and costs less points. "Kill 1000 zombies for desensitized" or something just sounds so bland. It'd also make lumberjack worse since lumberjack's main draw is the axe-man ability. Engineer becomes worse[and it's already not that great] by making their bomb recipes not exclusive. Park ranger also becomes worse due to it's best ability being the fast movement through trees. This idea would pretty much make the go-to occupations: Fire officer, burglar and fitness instructor. You'd be making 4 occupations nearly useless and shifting the meta towards pretty much just those 3 occupations and the game already has issues with plenty of the occupations being quite niche or not worth it.
  2. Disagreed, I'm fine with professions and their unique abilities. Something like the desensitized trait being avaliable without veteran sounds OP as hell considering it eliminates panic, which is the main incentive of going veteran rather than police officer considering that veteran costs more and is only lvl 2 in aiming & reloading compared to police officer's lvl 3 aiming and reloading. Same goes for lumberjack's axe-man ability. Plus while there are plenty of good professions, none of them are vital. You don't need them to have a great character build.
  3. I disagree, it definitely does break the concept. A core part of PZ is that small decisions you make can get you into trouble down the line. For example, while trying to escape zombies you make a quick decision of walking down a cramped alley-way and get boxed in and end up dying or you decide to engage a pack of zombies and end up getting bit. Save-scumming would go against that so much considering you can just save-scum before every encounter or anything dangerous is in your way. The concept is "This is how you died", which perma-death definitely ties into.
  4. I'd say 1993 suits the game just fine. Why does it need to be changed? It really fits in with the lore. The government was easily able to prevent most information from getting out to the public since technology was more limited back in those days compared to now. Mobile phones not being that common, especially in rural areas. Plus I'm pretty sure the mad cow disease outbreak was still occurring over in the U.K during that time period which is what contributes to some of the paranoia on the radio/tv ingame. I'd say GPS wouldn't suit this game in my opinion. While more types of maps would be cool in vanilla[Such as a map of the highways], GPS just seems so unnecessary. Eris mini map mod scratches that itch for the people who really want that type of thing anyway. The character can see their own weight for balancing purposes I'd imagine. If you wanted some item required for weighing your character, why not just implement bathroom scale? You don't need to set the game in 2005-10 for that. More advanced vending machine variety? What is even the point of that? It's just something you loot for snacks. More food variety? Why make it set in 2005-10 for that? 1990's had plenty of different types of food.
  5. Bites are a confirmed guaranteed death. "Zero counterplay"? There is a counterplay. be careful in combat and don't get involved in unnecessary fights. It's possible to kill tons of zombies and not get injured, plenty of people can destroy tons of zombies and get away with no injuries. If you get cornered and surrounded, I'm sorry to say but that's your fault for getting careless and not being cautious of your surroundings and the amount of zombies, it's very easy to walk away from fights[unless sprinters are enabled], even fast shamblers walk quite slow, not too hard to out-walk them. Unless you die to a group of zombies attacking you at once, you can just remove all the important items from your character and stash them somewhere to pick-up later. It isn't that bad to have a character after the power and water is shut-off since if's probable that you already have a safe-house set up with supplies and the power and water shut-off isn't really that bad to begin with. Water is very easy to get your hands on.
  6. It's not their fault that the mods are likely causing these issues in your game, you'd have to figure out which mod(s) is causing these issues. Not going to lie, you seem very entitled, he tries to give you some advice to help with your issue but you call his idea bad and tell him to get another solution because you don't want to disable some or all mods?
  7. Why are you getting so angry about a beer bottle? I can understand getting annoyed about poor balancing that affects core/important parts of the game, but over a beer bottle? Asking for somebody to get sacked for that? Jeez.
  8. Even if it's a minor change, it still drastically affects combat and has screwed me over quite a lot, I've been injured and killed by this quite a few times.
  9. Damnit, how are we gonna discover the contents of this THICK AND CHUNKY SAUCE?!
  10. In Pharmahug the loot tables are broken. All thezzzzz medical items on shelves have been replaced with chips, cigs, soda etc. Freezers that should have medical supplies have hotdogs and pies etc.
  11. Yeah the amount of times I've blown out a tire or something on a car I just found.
  12. During The Last Stand challenge I discovered a glitch whenever my character vaulted the second floor railing inside the cabin, he'd get stun locked mid air for like a couple of seconds then fall to the ground I reproduced the bug by vaulting the railing.
  13. While I'm late to this suggestion this sounds like a pretty neat idea.
  14. Yeah what Shark said. You can actually OD in the game already. I was in a huge amount of pain and wanted to sleep so i used an entire box of sleeping pills and it removed like half of my health.
  15. This is my first PZ suggestion in this forum. So this has probably been suggested before or the developers are planning to add cash which would make searching wallets off dead zombies useful? I believe the game could be modified to make cash useful. Perhaps vending machines and gas pumps. Cash could be looted from containers or zombies? Maybe cash could be obtained from atms using an ATM card or disassembling if you have high enough electrical. I found it weird how you could grab everything in a vending machine without even tampering with it or inserting cash. I propose that to get snacks/soda from vending machines you have to pay cash or disassemble it to get all the cash and snacks inside if you have high enough electrical. Maybe implement a pay at the pump system at some gas stations so whenever trying to obtain gas you would have to use that cash[or use a credit card maybe?] I hope people like this suggestion and I hope others can add some ideas to this topic.
