    Well for one, NPCs are the threat that is suppose to fill that gap when you feel comfy inside your base.
    Also hordes in the middle of the woods is not the way to go, we still have that promised update of hunting/wildlife.
     
    So i am pretty sure we are going to encounter some sort of wolf, bear or some wildlife predator down the PZ road.
     
    If anything, DayZ showed me how great it feels to be threatened by wildlife in a zombie game when you think that the woods are safe to travel on.

    Still no Zombies, kinda game breaking for a Zombie survival game, i hope this will be fixed by tomorrow (mondoid).

    IM GLAD! It would be like the knife kills we got right now where you always get an instant kill on the zombie and you have this quick special animation where you grab the top of the zombies head and jam the knife into its jaw, it would be like that with axes and machetes but with a different more appropriate animation.

    No, I don't want to play yet another boring game where all you do with every single melee weapon on earth is the same boring generic swing to the side and repeat it a few million times until your victim is dead.

    I noticed the lack of bug fixes back in august and deduced that it could only mean Animations were imminent, i was wrong.  Bug fixes are like cleaning your home,  the longer you leave it the worse it gets, but no doubt there is a plan/reason.

    Last time i heard they were doing the MP factions thingy and the VOIP thingy too.
     
    But it seems weird to me that there are a lot of small bugs that have been on the tracker for a while and haven't been taken on, also i guess the whole "small things with big impact" suggestions to improve the SP has been shoved aside in favor of the MP things?
     
    I wonder how much time is left for the animations to come around, the small suggestions with a big impact was suppose to fill the gap of waiting for the animations, now we have the possible update of VOIP and the MP fixes, so i doubt that they would drop the animations in the middle of fixing those two.

    It's seriously frustrating that a fireaxe or any sharp weapon actually has the same dumb swinging til they're dead bullshit that every other game has, I'm hoping the animation update atleast adds in special combat for sharp weapons like when you hit a zombie with a fireaxe they always instantly die but a kill takes like 2 seconds for the animation where you see him slamming the axe into the skull and then kicking the zombie off, if we get the same generic gamey swing-the-axe-to-the-rotten-decomposed-face-9-times-til-theyre-dead shit I'll be thoroughly disappointed especially after like 5 polar cap meltdowns of waiting and "we're working on it" 's I still cant wait for it and check the mondoids daily and am pumped but I just want you to know that I'd be way less pumped if fireaxes have the exact same combat as blunt weapons just with more damage. 
    Will we at least get cool special killing animations for sharp weapons like the fireaxe?

    I think that everyone is forgetting the fact that they clearly said:
     
    I think that is the reason of why they didnt give any news about the animations, it hurts to read it and know that it will be delayed even more than before (i always think; maybe this monday will be different, maybe today i will read the mondoid on my lunch break and they will say that they have the new system that was redone again in place and they will be out by the next week or this week, its never there.I havent started a good game of PZ (actually sitting down and playing the game more than 40 minutes) since January waiting for the backpacks to be implemented.)
     
    If they went dead silent with the animations update trying to go the same route as they went with the NPCs staying dead silent, people would rage worse than ever before because we have been teased about those things and felt them so close, and i am sure they know that doing that is just shooting themselves in the foot in the eyes of the community.
     
    Hopefully next week we get a beefy Mondoid regarding the animation system other than "we are still going at it doing the system again", just give us more details or something new to cling on.

    That is the AI of an NPC from 2 years ago (Holy fuck i feel old, make time stop)
     
    From the looks of it, it has some flaws but still plays better than the normal new-mid player in MP, the idea of that AI from what i remember was that they would be able to survive on the 6 Months Later setting, if i recall correctly they made progress on that.
     
    Now we know that the NPCs have the skill to survive in the game without going full Rambo and shooting everyone with shotguns (like the good ol' days), but the important thing that i expect from the NPCs is when they are handicaped.
     
    Since they are going to have personalities, some NPCs are going to be more able to survive than others, some will leave the doors open, maybe others will be too noisy, not putting sheets on the window, panicking and screaming (this was in the old NPC code, i recall seeing a video of a NPC just saying "THERES TOO MANY OF THEM" running to the other side while leaving his team alone getting muched on).

    NPCs are the biggest thing to me, its taken up years of my life, because I knew how high they were aiming, and Ive believed in them since, for years, i spent countless hours, days, even weeks, researching and waiting for anything NPC related. But overtime, ive come to learn to respect the fact that, "theyre ready when theyre ready" and its been like that ever since for me. But I am entrusting them in their 5 step release plan after the Animations (animations being probably the first step) and I just really hate how people are giving hate on this game, just let them work, and people complain that the 5 step roadmap is "JUST STARTING??" no its not, they even stated on a reply that "who said we werent working on the other steps while pushing out other updates?" You guys, please think before you post is all im trying to say, and please research too, ive found out way more than I wanted in doing so, and thats whats made me come to the mindset to trust the devs because they know what they are doing, and I respect that, even if it takes another 6 years xDDD (Please dont ) they want this game to finish (including NPCs) 100 million times more than we do. Like many people who has believed said, its only a matter of patience.

    I really see no point in discussing this further, as I have no problems whatsoever with anybody here on the forums or with TIS. It's even more than that as my voluntary work here as a translator gets TIS more sales.

    You're not TIS's supervisor. You're a customer that purchased a very clearly defined product for between $5 and $15: a license to the most-current version of an incomplete game.  You did not pay for a promise. This has been made crystal clear from day one. The only supervisor TIS has is themselves; had they wanted to be micromanaged and be dismissed out of hand, they wouldn't have bothered with starting a company and producing a game.
     
    That said, the devs have an aim for a game and they've been killing themselves trying to reach it. Having people hurl abuse at them, invent conspiracies, and demand that it must, somehow, be faster than they can work is just soul crushing.  It's that constant erosion of moral that's largely to blame for the game in its current state -- it's certainly the reason the devs can't take pride in their work or even escape from it for a few days while laid out, sick.
     
    TIS just wants to make the game they envisioned four years ago, regardless of how long it takes or if it ultimately harms the company's future. They've bent over backwards to avoid shady tactics common in the gaming industry while doing so; tactics that no doubt would have resulted in the game being completed faster and being a greater financial success, but at a cost to the game and consumer.
     
    We appreciate your support and help in making Project Zomboid a better game.

    We completely own up to the fact big game features have been coming slowly. Nobody's fault but our own. But I don't think it's fair to say we shouldn't get upset and correct people when people scold us for all the wrong reasons (blaming someone for getting sick and not working on the game in that time. I mean, really?) or come up with silly hyperboles or flat out conspiracy-theories.
     
    Customers are in no way supervisors. Customers are right until they are wrong. Customers of PZ have bought a game for 15 bucks or less and most of them have gotten a fair amount of hours out of the game as is. The rest is just us fulfilling our promise on those cherries on top. We want those cherries to be the best cherries we can come up with. For that we need time and sometimes some slack (when it comes to shit like in this topic, for example). 

    Just please get your thoughts far away from the idea that a customer somehow is a superior here.
    When you are more than a customer and putting in time and effort, you are part of a community and that's entirely your choice. We're thankful for it all, we really are. I wouldn't be here anymore if it wasn't for the community overall. But you can't expect us to just swallow everything that's thrown at us, especially when it is unfair. And implying we're coming up with excuses or are lazy is certainly unfair.

    I could make them wait in a spot but that would introduce a big problem because the survivors cannot exist outside the loaded cell. what that means is if they go too far off your screen onto an area of the map that is not loaded, they will simply disappear into nothingness.  So making them wait is fine and dandy but if I do that people will start complaining that they disappear because they left them in base and went somewhere far away.
