  1. Something that everyone is missing when saying "driving slowly over zombies". You are forgetting the fact that we are driving though zombies, those motherfuckers who can rip a log wall apart after some time. I really want to see animations for zombies dragging you out either by the windows, getting in by the windshield or dragging you out somehow via the windshield.
  2. The whole metalworking update never got a furnace going (for smelting metals) because most of the community agreed that having you smelting iron to make X weapon was way too "Minecrafty". So having the ability of going into a mine, pick up ore, transform ore and then give shape to the ore, well that is even more minecrafty than what the devs intended. However if you really want to do this kind of stuff, try out Hydrocraft, it adds mines, ore, smelting and all that kind of stuff, but as this begin added to the vanilla game? I doubt it.
  3. I totally get what you are saying, when PZ was given to me (because at the time i didnt manage to get to pay for the game, there was no Steam to buy the game, instead it was this weird page, keep in mind, this was around December 2011, when the Steam update hit i bought it there) the whole concept of the game was brilliant, there was no game like this in the market and early access was not even a thing, the tech demo was something that hook me up so much for at least more than 15 hours just trying to survive in that small map. At that time the concept of early access was not existent, Minecraft was the big thing that did it right at the time and the devs follow the lead on how to approach their game. As i read what i wrote above me i realize that i am going headed into a rant of why i love Project zomboid, but instead of that i will get to the point, i love this game as it is, i gifted this game several times to different friends and hardcore sold the game concept to other people so they would buy it (as the game stood), but recently defending this game became harder because the whole animations thing blueballed a lot of people, including me and i am sure the community agrees as a whole that we felt the animations so close that we were expecting it back in October, but shit happens and they got delayed. Project Zomboid, Rimworld, The Long Dark and Neo Scavenger are the only early access games that i have supported from beginning to end, not because of the promise of what its going to be, but because the game itself in the state i found them were good, however i have notice that when there is one big feature in the horizon, i stop playing the game because i felt i really want to experience that feature before getting burned out with the game, as you can tell, that is a very personal issue and not one that the community shares. I dont blame the devs for the time they take with updates, i know they are always working in the full spectrum of what they accomplish and i respect them because even when shit hits the fan, they keep pushing forward to get their game finished. I know that the animations will eventually arrive, but god damn its has been a long time since 2011. Also funny thing: You took words out of my mouth, seriously. When this game came out in 2011, i was just starting college, its 2017 now and the years are starting to show me how much shit you must endure once you reach this age, with thesis, work and other work/school related stuff going on, i can barley play and its a very scary feeling to think that maybe next year i wont be able to fully enjoy the game because of insecurity reasons (like seriously there has been around 6 deaths around of where i use to go to college, 6 deaths per week in that area alone), work, economical reason (this country is going to hit the shit in the fan next year, the shit has been stuck there for a long time) or health reasons, i just want to see the game finished because of that reason, i know it sounds absurd, but pouring 5 years into following a single game and checking each monday morning for at least 4-3 years actually becomes somewhat part of you life, its just a funny thought.
  4. I guess you are not up to date of what the animation system is all about. I can give a damn about clothing/gore features by this point, but the animation system is a overhaul of ALL the gameplay mechanics of the game, its the one thing that is holding up the progress of NPCs, hunting animals, improved stealth, looking around corners and all of the features to the road towards 1.0. When the NPCs are in, they will be animated so you can see what they are doing, same goes to hunting (stealth and running, getting attacked by X animal), the ability to easily add more animations/weapons/items and see backpacks on players back is a huge thing that is needed. Also i dont understand how they got vehicles working without the animations in place, because i think that IF they got the vehicles first into the game before the animations, well i guess that means a truckload more of work to make them function with the animations again. But overall this is what makes the wait for the animations such a frustrating thing for me that i havent touched the game in a long time, just seeing the animations as a massive gateway into 1.0 is frustrating because the expectation of the community of probably seeing the game leave early access by the end of the year was high, now i doubt we might see the implementation of NPCs until next year.
  5. Congratz to RJ! Ok this has me put everything upside down for me right now. Weren't the animations suppose to come so we could get vehicles? If we get Vehicles first, isnt that more load into the animation update (aka more delayed)?
  6. I think those are the things that i want the most, the backpacks, more weapons and clothing, sweaters can do so much fashion after a while. But seriously i just want the animations out into the wild so the damn train to the 1.0 destination can get going already, i still think of how in November i was saying that the animations would be out by mid January, now i dont even think we might see them until May, reigniting the hype i had for NPCs and Animations only hurts me in the long run by this point.
  7. I been out of the loop for quite a while, so i must ask, does the wood stove works if you move it or its still bugged?
  8. No, just no. SP animations were finished and ready to test per say but they wanted the MP side to get the animations too, so they worked in the MP side of the animations and now they are going back to work on the SP animation side to get some new IWBUMS. Back on topic, what does happiness do to benefit the player? Other than counter sadness (that almost dosent harm the player itself)
  9. Since the animation pumping engine is back online. Could we perhaps get an animation to look behind you? Since there is an animation now for half turning the torso and head to look behind, something like that would be very useful while moving forward.
  10. I know about the previews, but i mean like it was stated a few Mondoids ago, that work has been on the MP side since it went all haywire on their side (at least that is what i think, because the network sync and all that), but aside from the previews, they did say that the SP side was ready to go into testing, they got the reloading system in place and they decided to go and hook it up into MP instead of doing the SP branch like they planned months before it. So if the system was ready to go 3 months ago, at least from the SP side, what happen that broke it again and it needs to be work on it again? I been dying to play seriously too, but when i recommended people to buy into the game and then those people come back at me saying "dude where are the animations, i got an update but everything is the same" or things like that i just keep saying "they coming man, for real this time", so they kinda lose trust in me, they dont see the small changes that pile up into something great as a good thing, they just want to see the big fancy updates.
  11. Hold the phone, what happen? I thought that the SP side of the animations were already done? First we have this mondoid back in November 21 saying this: https://projectzomboid.com/blog/2016/11/launch-procedures/ Fast forward to November 28 and we got this mondoid: https://projectzomboid.com/blog/2016/11/megatestin/ Then 2 mondoids after that we have a complete void of lack of info regarding the MP side of animations, so in between those months, what happen to the SP side of the animations? Has it been updated and then broken again trying to fix them from MP side? The MP made progress and broke stuff from the SP side? 2 months ago they were ready to be tested and that was when the whole discussion we had on those mondoids saying that there could be a SP branch to test the animations out first and get a solid lead for the MP side later came from but that it was better to wait for the MP side to be completed and all that jazz. Is there going to be again a wait of months before they get to the state to be tested again? I know that i sound like nipicking but when i try to discus this game with other people, it becomes harder to defend it sometimes and that made me go on this little rant here, but i just want to know what happen to that SP progress that was ready to launch almost 3 months ago, i am sure that it improved more but if it is improved, then why is not ready for testing? And if not then what happen?

    Dead Territory

Well they said well in the past that there was going to be a SP test build first in IWBUMS and then MP, but alas that never happen and now it might happen? I didnt get that last part right, we just went into a big loop. Also its great to see that the metal+microwave tactic is finally going to be viable, but what ever happen to gaining XP from watching TV? That was forgotten? The TV has been part of the game for a long time and yet that feature is not in place yet. Overall i loved how informative this mondoid was after the dry state of the mondoids before it.
  13. But why sleeping regens health tho? Also, i dont know if it happens already or not, but maybe sleeping hungry should be difficult, thus you sleep very little or nothing at all, if you are literally starving you shouldnt be able to sleep for more than 2 hours without waking up.
  14. I suggested this some time ago. I just like The Long Dark approach where if the place is competently dark you cant read. Candles and flashlights along with batteries are competently useless right now, this would make them very useful, along with the night events where zombies will see light in the house and may be attracted to them. Maybe the game could check if you have a flashlight with batteries before reading in the dark and automatically equip it and produce a small light aura, same goes with candles and strike matches/ lighters, you take out the micromanagement and it becomes a thing about resources (batteries, candles). Also the character could say something along the lines of "Its too dark to read here" so new players understand that they need a light source.

For what is worth. The devs knows that the game needs to be finished, so lets put that aside. Project Zomboid has the reputation of slow development speed and for good reasons, shit happens, some features take less time than others and builds start going crazy, some features need to be pushed back so the completed features go forward and all that good stuff. Hiring new staff wont fix the development speed. So what would be a small feature or update? Right now to be finished, the game needs NPCs, hunting, the map with Louisville or al least Fort Knox and vehicles. Now, NPCs, hunting and Vehicles are tied to the animation system that has been going for a long time, you cant make any advances on those features because well, like you said, you would need to rewrite everything. As far as i can tell, we are in a place where there is no smaller thing, that would be something similar to what happen in Build 35 where they pumped out features the community wanted to fill in the gaps while waiting for the animations, look at how that turned out because the animations kept begin delayed because shit kept happening, we just need to accept that the features will take a long ass time to get completed, i know in my heart that the animations wont get into the game until February or something like that and it hurts, but there is nothing you or i can do to speed up the process. Project Zomboid was out even when early access was a thing, back then was a tech demo out and the promise of "If you liked what you saw, you will get this and more if you buy our game", it was a promise between customer and dev and it still stands, even after the robbery, the bomb squad shit and everything that has happen to TIS, they still push forward to finish the damn game. You just need to accept that TIS wont be any faster than it was right now, but its faster than it was way before, it cant get worse than this and the final product can only get better.
  16. There is a mod that adds vehicles, that fills that neat little gap that you and i experience. But the real pain is in MP, i still dont know how people do the trips in modded maps like, the game map becomes huge, i just dont see the appeal of running that time either.

When we talk about 3 years, we are talking since the game came out on Steam or when the game shifted gears to push the 3D aspect of the game (plus the save option)? In total i think the game has been in dev for 6 years by now, but there has been a fuckload of progress ever since then. As for the development speed, everyone pretty much agrees that its slow, even the devs said so, thus no ETAs, for example the animations, a little screw up here and there makes everything slow down a lot, the motto always is: "Shit happens" when it comes to game dev.

Well, at least we know that next year we are going to get the new animations, thats for sure.
  19. Bug: I got invited twice to a faction, i accepted the invitation two times, now my name appears two times in the faction menu as if i was another player.
  20. Here is the thing, right now i see what is happening, TIS is treading on mighty thin ice right now, the animations took longer to go out from what they expected, Build 35 is about to go out of the door because is pack filled with new features and fixes but when that build goes out and it hits steam, i am pretty sure there will be backlash saying "did we really waited 6 months for THIS" referring to the animations part of the update and not appreciating whats in the update. Now imagine what will happen if they give us pictures or a new video? It would be like teasing a hungry wolf with a big steak, the wolf will tear your arm off, this is more or less what is happening right now in reddit and the steam fourms but on a lower level. Now we have Build 36 in the horizon with the feature of moving multiple tile objects in the game and we came back to square 0 regarding the animations: We heard this little line of text in each Mondoid for 6 months now, sometimes with a new video or image that made us feel like "probably will be out next week!". Believe me that if they put a image or concept regarding the animations, there will be backlash harder than before, specially after Build 35 goes out of the door.
  21. So the farm area is just the middle of the map right? 5 new farmhouses?
  22. Yeah the lag when there were large groups was a mess, but i thought that was like a normal thing to happen in the game by this point. If that can be fixed, u will be amazed.
  23. What didnt work out in this build tho? VOIP or the factions system?
  24. So i guess we are going to have another event because the build is not ready yet?
