    The ORMtnBoy has been born, goodbye free time! It was nice knowing you, but I have new more important things.

    Not got much new at the moment, hoping I get more time soon, there's just a lot going on at the moment.

    When I have a chance with my laptop, I'll put up those other colours for the 1911s and the other rifle - they're basically done, I just don't have my laptop currently.

    Edit - currently replacing the whole set of Dropbox files to make sure they're all there, however Dropbox reliably seems to mess up the file structure when you copy more than one folder at a time - don't be surprised if it needs re-sorting. When it's done, the 1911 clones should be there along with a resized R700 Scoped. I've spent a while playing with the M4 but I've broken it - as I'm replacing my laptop in the next week or two, I'll likely wait until I have that before I start doing anything significant for now; I'm just going through this one and getting my copy-over ready so, that will happen.

    #2 - My new laptop is on its way, due Tuesday 18th. My little one'side battery has actually burst now so I don't have a computer until then, but Blender will be my first software installed when I get it.

    I'll have a look over the next couple days - this M4 is bothering me right now so maybe that'll let me do something else for a little bit.
    I'm sure there's probably an easy way to tweak them but, I'm guessing I'll end up doing it the hard way.

    I'm going to try making some pretty big changes to see what happens - while I'll try looking at what it does, my little notebook can barely get through movement in the game, much less proper testing of various locations - I'll put iterations of it up here, and if you feel like checking them out (and seeing if my changes worked, and what else I should change) I'd appreciate if you gave them a go for yourself and let me know some feedback - it'll take me a long time to try and look at it closely in game for myself. :c

    Yes, I'll put that up at the weekend with the 1911 clones.

    I've made a first iteration of a reduced loot thingy - it should be attached to this post. It makes a lot fewer guns spawn, and quite a lot less ammo and attachments too, but most containers will still contain at least one or two items. Take a look, let me know what you think.
    ORGMDistribution(reduced).lua

    To try it, download it to your computer somewhere, go to
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\514618604\mods\ORGM\media\lua\server
    Back up your copy of ORGMDistribution (preferably so you know which is which ;p).
    Rename the one you got from this post to remove the "(reduced)" section, and replace the ORGMDistribution file in the mod files.
    Restart your game, and start a new character (to make sure that everything is fresh spawned).

    So I've not had time to do as much as I wanted with these - I've put them up on the Dropbox anyway, but they are quite likely to see revision at some point very soon. (The main reason for posting them up is to ensure that I have them backed up, rather than to say "finished" on them - losing one laptop lately makes me sure it's a good idea.)

    I'm still tampering with the scoped R700 - let me know if you see anything broken on these models or otherwise think they should be changed; while I intend to go over them again and probably reupload them, you might see something I've missed.
    Also, apologies for the random pistol on the floor - for some reason I ended up with 274 Glock 22s in my inventory and needed to drop them before my character asploded or something.

    ---
    I've done what I will with the R700 Scoped model - I may well one day remove it and tweak it into the M40A5 but not until I get that far through the list - and it's a big beefy list before I get that far.
    Below are some comparisons between the stock R700 and the scoped R700; you will find the scoped version on the Dropbox under "Optional other stuff" - as the mod doesn't hold it as a sniper as standard, I'm using the non-scoped version as the standard model in the "Objects_ and weapons_" folder.
    I've also decided not to further change the Mosin or M1911 for now - while the 1911 doesn't show it's detail as well as I'd like, I tried altering it slightly and it didn't improve the texture appearance (and I'm trying to keep 128x128 textures as the standard dimensions that I use); if anyone thinks I should revisit specific aspects of either of those, let me know what to change - I was going to change the 1911 texture and make the Mosin slightly less thin, but neither alteration made the appearances better (the Mosin looked somewhat worse) so I've aborted those changes, at least for now or until asked to change them.

    Yep, you can add a scope to just about any gun if you try hard enough.  The M24 and M40 just refer to very specific modifications, scopes, etc.

    Edit:
    Also, I made the original models included with the mod.  Feel free to replace them at your leisure, I don't have any emotional attachment to them.  Yours are better anyway

    I'm aiming toward a Remington 700 - that's listed as a regular rifle in your mod, though it has got a military sniper history as well, so I'm kind of between which to make it.

    Yes it is - it does have a bolt on it but with the edges highlighted you can't really see it.
    Good to know the 551 is happy now - I assume I must have accidentally shrunk the whole model somehow without noticing before, not sure how I'd have done that though. :s

    I think as a stock model for the mod, the unscoped is better, as that's what seems to have been used for item images and such throughout. That said, here's my Remington 700 offering now I've had a bit more time to play, both with and without scope;

    The M24 and M40 variants are just regular Remington 700s with custom parts (scope, bipod, accurized barrel), with the M24 being the Army's modification, and the M40 being the Marine's.  So there's really no difference microscopically.

    Though, I suppose nothing is stopping you from just making different skins for each.

    Here's some comparative images for the new SIG551 I propose using - the Dropbox has already had it replaced;

    On the Dropbox you should now find a new folder titled "Altered files for adding models" - these are what they say on the tin; edited versions of what comes in the base ORGM, with the elements tweaked to get them to call on the models I've made. To put them in;

    So TL;DR - download altered, objects_ and weapons_; replace ORGM.lua and the ORGM***.txts, paste in the Objects_ and weapons_, restart the game.

    And of course - each time I upload new models to the Dropbox, I'll update the altered ORGM.lua and ORGM***.txt files as well. You'll need to manually replace these each time you want to push in the new models, because obviously the old one you put in won't look for anything made since. So, it'll work, but you'll probably need to mess with it like once a week if you want to keep it up to date.

    (I'm hoping ORMtnMan doesn't mind my putting pieces of the mod onto the Dropbox folder - I take no credit for most of the work obviously, but it's the only simple-ish work-around I can think of that doesn't require getting people to constantly edit their own files; and after all, you can just download the base files anyway by subscribing to the mod, and the majority of it isn't on there, just the modified bits.)

    Also;

    I'm probably going to pull the bottom of the grip and stock up to make it "less deep". Not sure if I should put a scope on it - it is a suitable rifle for sniping but I don't think it's listed as a sniper. I'll think about it later. (And yes, I need to put the trigger guard on)

    In that case, I'll try and shuffle the r700 and m21 to the top of the list for the next batch
    Any other weapons or weapon types that you use a lot or otherwise need more of?

    I haven't decided yet - I know I'm being asked to do double hours at work this week, so it's probably going to crush the time I have to spend - next batch will likely only be three to five models, unless I go for easy ones like the Glocks and such. I'll put a spoiler here with things I currently have listed to do before I move on to remaking currently existing models - as the order I do these doesn't really matter, if you've got any you think I should do earlier on (that you see more often than others or just think should be done sooner than later);

    Also, the images were throwing me a bit - some SIG550 images showed it that big, others showed it a bit smaller.
    Does it look scaled right to you, or do I need to shrink it a bit? (I assumed the variation was google showing me 551s as well - when doing the 551 it was showing me images of 552s and 553s as well.)

    I'll have the upload sometime tomorrow most likely - I have to confess I got distracted with the football (or soccer, depending on your region) - I'm just going through the models and getting scale and position, as well as checking for texture problems (this is the last element I do with them before they're done, so it's basically just time now - my sad little notebook PC I have to use right now takes between 160 and 420 seconds to load up the world... every time I want to check the model and or move/resize it... no sad-face emoticons emphasize how much I miss my old lappy that could do it in less than 40-50).

    Including the revolvers I was checking out on here earlier, I will hopefully be putting up nine models. If any have issues, I'll put the rest up and catch the problem ones later. (though it's kind of cheats, because some are mostly the same. I still take credit though ;p)

    ---
    Finally got into Dropbox, for some reason when I tried logging in it kept taking me back to the homepage without being logged in - now that's sorted, you should find nine more models up on there now. A couple had some interesting things when I was trying them out - if anything appears strange for you if you use them, let me know. These are the new ones on my Dropbox;

    Hmmm...
    I know that when I was experimenting, I'd get white patches when the textures and models don't line up, but the base mod ones should line up fine - or at least ones like the UMP should just appear as solid grey rather than white.
    This is something then that I'm completely clueless about, I'm afraid.

    Trying to make the M1A1 Thompson, but something is bugging me about it;

    Do you see anything wrong with it as a simplified model?

    Thanks. I've tweaked the stock and barrels to try and bring it more into correct scale - I've finished most of the model making I'll do for this week's batch and now I'm doing the painful loading and reloading in game getting them facing the right way, at the right size, in the right place (cause as cool as a shoulder mounted shotgun would be, it's not how it's intended to be.
    Also, I thought that thing looked pretty darn heavy, but I guess that's the construction difference between the 6 Unica which fires .357 (if I remember correctly) and that PW that fires .50.
    I have no idea if he will include them in the mod as the standard models. It'd be pretty cool and I do intend to make a model for each and every weapon in the mod, over time (and once I've done with the current ones, I'll likely just go through the planned future ones).

    If you want to replace current models entirely (note that will replace the model for everything it's used for, including the intended weapon itself), you can simply rename the files you want to use and overwrite the ones currently in the mod files (for example, if you wanted to replace the current M16 with the G3 model, just rename the G3 files to "_m16" and overwrite the actual M16 ones).

    If you want to add new models to introduce those alongside the ones that already exist, I haven't actually poked into the file that would load the object and texture, but given some spare time I may make one for upload tomorrow - again, no promises, as that's not really the bit I'm chasing after, but if I have spare time I don't mind poking about.

    They aren't in the mod as standard; there is a link to the Dropbox to get the files in my previous posts though, so you can replace currently existing models, or try editing the mod to include them if you fancy.
    Is that the multiplayer server that I saw on Reddit? I have to say I haven't actually played PZ online at all, I have too much fun trying to clear out the prison on my own.
    Let's just say setting zombie spawn to insane and then going there with a screwdriver and three butter knives doesn't usually work out. ;p

    I thought I wouldn't have enough time today to do much before work but ended up managing to do a G3 anyway, just playing about seeing how many tri's I should expect such a model to take up.

    If it's any good, it's up on the Dropbox now;

    It might be a bit big. Though that depends on the barrel length you're going for. With a 6 in barrel would be 11.5 inches long in total. and between 5.5 to 6 inches tall. If you think she (in the picture is about 5'9" it might be about right.

    That does look like a 6" barrel.

    6" .357 Python for reference:

    I've put five more models onto the Dropbox here;

    AI-AW 308 (Arctic Warfare) (.308 Winchester/7.62x51mm)
    L96 (7.62x51mm/.308 Winchester)
    American-180 (.22 LR)
    Kel-Tec PLR-16 (.223 Remington/5.56x45mm)
    Skorpion VZ. 61 (.32 ACP)

    The PLR-16 looks a bit strange at certain angles, but it seems to just be an illusion - the model is angled correctly.

    Don't forget that they don't do much unless you have a screwdriver available - you can't see the "attach" option unless you have a screwdriver in your hand or inventory and a compatible weapon/attachment combination.

    I'm not an expert on these things, but;

    Check the mod is active on the in game Mods menu; try turning it off, and back on,
    Make sure you've got 3d Objects on in the Graphics settings in game,
    Try reinstalling the mod to ensure it is installed correctly,
    Restart the game if you've installed during that play session, as most models are loaded on start up,

    Check the mod files which should be somewhere in the region of;
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\514618604\mods\ORGM\media
    ...to check there is a "models" and "textures" folder that have files in them ("models" should contain a lot of "weapons_[name].txt" files and "textures" should be "Objects_[name].png" files)

    After that, you can try using the no 3d models patch for the mod, but that does mean you'll only have a flat version of each weapon rather than a proper model.

    As I say, not an expert, defer to better advice if it's posted.

    On another note, my laptop has been reading an irreparable hard drive error for a while, and now is not booting up, so I'll have to try getting Blender onto the little notebook I have stashed in my cupboard - don't think it plays PZ very well but should be enough to check and make models on, I hope. Will mean I'll have a little bit of re-doing to catch up.
