  1. This makes the problem more clear, it seems to be a permission issue on your PC preventing the game to write in the User/Zomboid folder.
You can fix this by moving the Zomboid location elsewhere.

Try going to your Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -cachedir=C:\Zomboid > Start the game

  2. Thanks, this is fairly unusual, I would recommend you go to the Zomboid folder and delete everything there, including the Saves folder, though you can instead move that folder somewhere else if you have any old saves you want to keep around.

After that, try verifying your game files.
Steam Library > Right-click Project Zomboid > Properties > Local Files > Verify Local Files

Then just try starting the game again, It should fix the Savefile error.

  3. Unfortunately, this logs file is empty, I recommend first starting a game and loading into a new save, then reproducing the issue after that, and then finally shutting down the game. This should create the new logs file which would contain the logs from that game, you have to send the logs after that.

  4. Seems like the  file is corrupted for some reason. Try going to the Zomboid folder again and delete everything there except the "Saves" folder. Then try starting a new game again.
If it still shows an error, share the file again, as it should no longer be corrupted after this.

  5. Yeah that is unfortunately the only idea I have, that something must be blocking the connection on their side. Some service providers might think that if you connect too often to a server as a DDOS, and would block the IP from connecting again, so it might be an issue there. Since it would not make sense that she can connect to every other server if it was an issue on your side.

  6. Very weird... try using the StartServer_nosteam.bat file, then go to your  Steam Library > Right click Project Zomboid > Properties > Set Launch Options > Type -nosteam > Start the game > Connect to this new Nosteam server.

This should take out Steam out of the picture, meaning if there are any issues with it, you should be able to connect to it now. This would help us get closer to the issue.

  7. It may be an issue with the mods as well, since some do not seem to work well with MacOS for some reason. Try joining the large server with a new username and create a new character, this will check if it is some sort of character issue as well.

  8. Could you try setting the game to "Windowed" mode in your game Options and then try loading in the server again?
Additionally, when did this start happening? Did you do any updates on the Mac that might have caused the issue?
