Game can't be launched through Steam. (Works fine using .exe)
Beard replied to PlutoMonkey's question in PZ Support
If you want we can try several things to see if it fixes the Steam launch, or for a very fast fix I would personally recommend using the "Add Non-Steam game" option in Steam and then add the .exe to it. This way you can launch the game through the Steam library, since it would just use the .exe. -
I would recommend reporting modded map issues to the map creator in that case.

If you have an AMD graphics card, then the recent driver for it is causing issues in OpenGL games such as Project Zomboid. I recommend updating your drivers to the latest driver version from the AMD website: https://www.amd.com/en/support

Game can't be launched through Steam. (Works fine using .exe)
Beard replied to PlutoMonkey's question in PZ Support
When launching the game through the .exe, does the Steam integration work? Are you able to join servers and enable mods? -
I would recommend backing up the save and then checking the mods on the server / removing them. The error seems to be related to a worn item on a corpse, so if you have any mods added that add new clothing or accessories, then they might be the cause of the issue.
-
Do you perhaps have any mods enabled? Does the error show up with them being disabled?
-
modded server issue, consistently not responding

Are you able to join any other servers? Is anyone else able to join this server? -
In this case, try doing a full reinstall. First, uninstall the game, then go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and make sure there are no leftover files or folders there. After that, go to “C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid” and delete everything there except the “Saves” folder. Then just install the game again and see if that helps.

Yes you will need to contact the administrators in that case.
-
It would depend on the failure, but generally hardware failures can prevent an application from starting.
-
There is no setting to change the timeout for the map failing to load at this moment unfortunately.

Project Zomboid will not start when I Click Play on Steam
Beard replied to Rouse81's topic in Bug Reports
Can you try using the "Alternate launch" option when launching the game through Steam and then share a screenshot of the console window that shows up? It should show errors that will help fix the issue. -
They load at game start, unless you disable them and then restart the game. You can also go to your Zomboid folder and delete the "mods" folder there as an alternative.
-
The logs unfortunately still all show mods enabled on the main menu, you can check yourself by looking for "mod" in the console.txt files. The previous err pid you sent is Nvidia related though "nvoglv64.dll" causing the crash. The only fix for that seems to be a driver reinstall as written here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/467489/nvoglv64dll-crash-to-desktop/ https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Faulting-module-nvoglv64-dll-when-launching-AutoCAD.html

If you have issues with mods, try disabling them one by one or in batches to figure out which specific mod is causing the problems. Do it on a new save to prevent any issues on your current playthrough, as removing mods can cause items to be permanently deleted. After you find out which mod is problematic, consider reporting the problem to the mod creator on their workshop page.

Do you have any mods enabled? Does the issue happen without them?

WorldDictionary error keeps happening on a specific person
Beard replied to AdneyIsHere's question in PZ Support
Ask him to load in with a different username and to not add any modded items on his character on the creation screen. -
I have mainly seen this error happen due to mods, could you share the logs.zip file again? So I can check if any were enabled at the time of the error, or if any other errors happened before this one.
-
Yes it is, it seems like it is a driver issue or the wrong graphics card is used. Can you make sure that your monitor is connected to the correct port on your PC?
-
Can you try using the "Alternate launch" option when launching the game through Steam? If the game fails to start again, can you share your console.txt file, found in C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid?
-
The soft reset function does not work at this moment as mentioned.
-
That is unlikely. Does it happen even when you remove all the mods? The signal would likely not be the cause either.

my pz is running at 10 fps on the home screen, and when I try to enter the game, it exits.

There seems to be a problem with your game install. Can you try doing a full reinstall?
