  1. I'm pretty sure there used to be a mod that did exactly what you're describing. I'm too lazy to go searching for it - but it was call the "Literature" mod or something like that. It was quite a while ago, though, so it's highly doubtful that said mod would work with the current version of PZ.

I'd like to see an aluminum bat that while you can't spike it with nails  and a hammer, but it's a lot harder to break. And the fact that it's metal means it would do a little more damage compared to a regular wooden bat anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and - having very little real world experience with baseball bats - I very well could be) but aren't aluminum baseball bats hollow - and thus of lighter weight than wooden bats? Wouldn't said weight difference cause them to be slightly less damaging than a wooden bat?

Im thinking of all these school shootings in US, surely some kid maybe had a gun and some ammo hidden in his locker, could be a very rare find though. That's all :P

School shootings weren't quite as common in 1993 (when the game is set) as they are today.

I'm totally with you with regards to adding more items to school lockers, however. Maybe some food - bags of chips, bottles of soda, and the like?

EDIT: While we're on the topic of lockers, I'd also like to request that school lockers be differentiated from other lockers - such as those at the country club. It's a bit weird searching through those lockers and finding school supplies and comic books as opposed to golf clubs, tennis rackets, and unsightly golf attire.

Player made is always a great idea. Or are you too afraid people will spraypaint penises in their singleplayer game where they can mod in whatever they want?

Gotta second this. Why shouldn't people be able to paint whatever they want in their own game?

  5. Thought of a few more suggestions for lock-circumnavigation:

Bump Key - Essentially a specially-key cut (almost looks like a blank key) designed to be "bumped" in a lock, moving the pins momentarily and allowing the lock cylinder to be turned.

Snap Gun - I don't have any excuse for forgetting to mention this in my other post - seeing as I actually own one. A snap gun is essentially a gun-shaped mechanical lock pick. Insert the "barrel" into the lock, pull the trigger, and turn the cylinder with a tension wrench. Easy to use, but with a slight chance of breaking the lock. Electric versions also exist.

Ninja Rocks - Another tool for breaking into cars. Ninja rocks are broken shards of ceramic spark plugs that can be thrown at a car window to silently break it. Useful for when you need to quickly get into a locked car without alerting nearby zombies. Only works with car windows.

Yeah, we've got a bunch of them ready to go. No dancing though.

Damn. There go my dreams of disco-dancing my way through the apocalypse.

Will there at least be polyester leisure suits?

Thank you, that is much better than just insisting you're right.

Though I hate to tell you this, 6000 people isn't exactly small.  That's 3x the population of Muldraugh and West Point combined. Maybe that helps put it in perspective?

That also fails to address that coconuts are currently in vogue (keto, the changing attitudes regarding saturated fats and heart disease),

whereas it'd probably be less likely to find them in 1993, but I doubt either of us can prove that one way or another. My instinct tells me that it be even less likely in the game's setting.

I think you and I have very differing standards on what constitutes a "small" town. Also that's not factoring in the populations of Riverside, Rosewood, and March Point which - although they're fictional - would still increase the population of the in-game world. I can't say by how much they would increase the in-game population -only the devs know that.

Also, one has to factor in the city of Louisville which - although it hasn't been added to the game yet - contains over 500,000 people! I can easily imagine the people of Muldraugh and the like making the occasional shopping trip to "The Big City" so they can stock up on items and groceries they can't get in their hometowns.

Unfortunately, I don't have any answers with regards to the availability of coconuts in 1993. I'm too young to be able to draw on personal experiences, and I'm not having much luck finding anything online either. I do know that coconuts were given away as prizes in fair games in the UK throughout the 20th and late 19th centuries (which is where the 1944 song "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts comes from"). That could mean that coconuts were common enough to be given away as cheap prizes, or they were rare and exotic enough to be worth playing a rigged fairground game for the chance to win one. My guess is that they started as the latter, and ended up as the former.

Lastly I would like to state that I never said coconuts should be so common that you find them in every second house you break into in PZ. I don't know if different food items are assigned different rarity values in PZ, but coconuts should definitely be rarer than apples and oranges. Maybe you've broken into the house owned by the one person on the street who enjoys fresh coconut milk. Just like you can currently break into the house owned by the one Cajun-cooking enthusiast on the block who stocks remoulade. ;)

Did you bought those coconuts right now for proof?

    Yes. Yes I did.

Bring some evidence to the table, explain your points. At least try - don't just think you can throw out your ideas onto the Internet without even explaining why you think it's a good counter and get anywhere.

You want evidence? I've got evidence. I've got photographic evidence, a paper trail, and two coconuts sitting on my kitchen counter.

So lets start with some basics: I live in a very small town in rural Newfoundland, Canada. The local population is just over 6000 people. The nearest city (which can properly be called a city) is a seven hour drive away. The town I live in does NOT have a large Asian demographic.  In fact, the local non-white/non-aboriginal population can probably be counted in the low double digits. Feel free to look up the demographics for yourself.

There are three grocery stores in town - not including the world's crappiest Wal-Mart. I went to all three of those grocery stores in search of coconuts. Here are my findings:

The first grocery store on my coconut hunt is also our town's smallest. I genuinely wasn't expecting to find any coconuts here, and I didn't. I flagged down an employee, and he said they didn't carry them. So that's a point in your favor. Enjoy.

The second store I tried however, was the coconut jackpot! Granted, Dominion is by far the largest grocery store in town, so I would have been very surprised if they weren't stocked with coconuts. They were on sale too!

Feel free to count all those coconuts, by the way! Those wonderful brown fruits are all points in my favor!

The last store in town was kind on a crap-shoot with regards to coconut availability. According to their website, they carried coconuts - but I honestly wouldn't have been surprised to walk in and be told that they didn't stock them.

Fortunately for my argument, they do stock them - albeit in very limited qualities. There was only one lone coconut available to buy (which I did buy), and the man stocking the produce said they get two or three shipped in every couple of weeks. He did offer to put in a special order for me if I was interested, but I politely declined. I only need one to prove my point.

I hope these photos serve as proof that coconuts are entirely available in small, rural, mostly white communities. They might not be as common as bananas, oranges, or pineapples - but they are not some super-exotic mystery fruit consumed only by Asian immigrants as you seem to think.

Need more evidence? Here's one last photo of the two coconuts I bought today - complete with receipts proving the date and location of their purchase:

It's so unlikely that you'd find a full coconut that we'd get people on the forum demanding they get removed, not unlike remoulade (a sauce used in cajun, southern, and French food). Doubtful I'd personally know anyone that'd know how to even open and eat one without Youtube now, let alone in 1993.

Why on earth would it be unrealistic to find a full coconut in-game? I can go to the supermarket and buy a full coconut right now, and I'm living nowhere near the tropics.

YES. I've always hated how blood splatter floats (or appears at all) on fences. Same with certain signs on broken windows

Speaking of broken windows, I've always hated how when double windows are broken (twice), it creates two individual holes instead of one large hole. Would it be possible for holes in large windows to join into larger holes instead of remaining adjacent smaller (by comparison) holes.

Rather than expanding the individual item names, it might be better to have a single item "Canned Food" with an icon showing the contents, in the same manner ingredients in a stirfry or such are shown.

I personally enjoy browsing through the different varieties of canned goods (among other things) when I'm looting, which is why I suggested more. It's also why I hate to admit that this isn't a bad idea.
