  1. fat is fat no matter how you get it, reason people get fat out of cheseburgers is because lots of carbs in buns and sauces combined with fat, coupled with soft drinks as well. Also carb content in modern diet make you hungry all the time, so people are overeating alot, and not exercising so their str/fit levels are low as well(brain tells you you are hungry but you really are not). your body fat is your reserve food, thats the point of it, 1 kilo of fat is 9000 calories, which can last you from 3 days if you are doing hard work, a week if you are just walking around without much extortion, or 10-11 days if you are just sitting around, so 20-30 kilos of extra fat can push you trough the winter with minimal upkeep. In RL for survival purposes it would be beneficial to fatten up during warm months so you can survive winter much easier in a situation where you cant preserve food, and crops dont grow.
  2. thanks not only that, but when your body fat is low and you are starving, your body starts to braking down protein from your muscle mass for energy, and that would in game terms lead to actual loss of strength and fitness points at rapid rate before death, while regaining back those is not fast. However being light you would need less fitness and strength for running around, while being obese/heavy you would need more So basically at low weight, and not starving, you would not be slower, unless your str/and fitness are really low, while being heavy you would need more fitness and strength to run on normal speed. However, being light would mean you could carry a lot less, and be weaker in pushing and fighting, while being obese/heavy would not influence that unless your str/fit points are low implementation of that would look like this low weight and starving=loosing fit/str at high rate before death at low weight(not starving) your fitness point effectiveness is boosted, while strength point effectiveness diminished at high weight other way around, and starving does not mean you loose str/fit points by default, but is completely regulated by intake of protein as you can rely on your body fat for calories. Which means you could be in starvation mode and a squirrel could last you few days just to maintain your protein intake and avoid losing muscle
  3. not sure how nutrition is implemented, but let me give you how it really works in RL, and i believe it could be integrated with this in mind calories are energy value, if you just wont to be satiated you should only be worried how many calories you take fats have 9 calories per gram, carbs and protein 4 calories per gram, so basically total calories are combined fat+protein+carb calories Now if you take nutritional stats for foods from the net, this is not important, but it gives you base workframe you could use for custom food, wildlife size variations and such, and interaction of every macro can be made to influence character in some ways Carbs- are fast absorbing calories, there are no essential carbs, which means they are not needed to eat in order to have fulfilled diet, however, their best use is for regulating weight. When combined with fats or protein enables you to fatten much faster, also when you remove carbs from your diet its easier to lose weight. (It works because carbs calories are fast, like rocket fuel, and because of that, slower calories from fats and protein get to be stored, eating just carbs will not lead to fattening unless overeating Eating carbs will make you hungry more often tho, because body absorbs them, and stores portion of protein and fat into body fat rather then using it completely.) Protein- are medium absorption calories, they are your building blocks, they are essential, that means you need to eat them in order to have healthy diet(one that doesn't lead to health issues). Implementation of protein could be linked into gaining strength and fitness, eating protein boosts up str/fit xp gain, while reducing them leads to loss due to the bodies constant regeneration cycle. (eating to much protein your body can convert into glucose(sugar/carbs), so when eating lots of protein combined with fats can lead to fattening up, but at slower rate then when using carbs) Fats- fats are slow absorption calories, your diesel fuel, which means they only absorb after calories from protein and carbs are absorbed, they are essential macro, which means you need to eat fats in order to produce hormones, absorb vitamins and so on. Fats opposed to popular belief do not fatten you up if eaten alone, but when combined with carbs or lots of protein, their slow absorption means they will be used last, and thus all excess calories you eat, those from fat have best chance to be stored up, but that happens only if overeating. Not eating fats can lead to health issues connected with hormones and vitamins(vitamins from food are not absorbed when you lack fats), so you will become sickly, however in game obese people when starving can use their own fat reserves, while those underweight must rely on them externally to avoid health issues. Body fat is your calorie reserve, which means getting obese or overweight pre winter is not a bad idea, as that will help you survive it. Obesity should not be negative trait worth of 10 points, its free points in real survival situation, getting fat in nature or without civilization means you are kicking ass, however underweight is a serious issue that can lead to death, keep that in mind
