  1. Found another issue with loot. When you loot a container, the icon of the item still remains in the container but you can not loot that item again. So there is no duplication but simply the icon of the item not disappearing when it should.
  2. Before I would even think about any of that I would rather have these gamebreaking bugs fixed. You know, disappearing loot, glitched textures, the broken mechanic trait and such. Coming up with "yet another cool thing" to add to their to-do list isn't helpful and derails the purpose of this thread.
  3. Ya well, welcome to Project Zomboid, I guess ;D You can get an antique oven, for example here: https://map.projectzomboid.com/#0.5426338535873166,0.25344481547156206,850.5622499821093 They should still be working, i assume. Just add logs or whatever and you have a nice fireplace. You can easily dismantle them and bring them to your base - they are better than bonfires anyway, since you cant catch fire when getting too close. With the cremation mod you can even stuff zombie corpses in them as fuel. Alternatively you could use a barbecue grill to cook.
  4. Concerning the ignition failure: I thought to have this issue aswell when hosting a multiplayer game. Turned out i was a noob and the gas tank was simply empty. Maybe thats also the issue for you.
  5. First of all I have to say that the performance improvements had some positive effect. Havent tested it in Mplayer yet but as far as Singleplayer goes the game has become playable again. While the overall performance is now still somewhat sluggish, the 3second freezes have disappeared. Thats a good thing but there is still quite a bit of room for performance improvements i think. Other than that, I did notice that whenever you are near a container (corpse, cupboard, etc) the default focus is always the ground tile. Not gamebreaking but still somehwat irritating when I always have to manually select >that one container< i want to access. Will report more once I tested this version in a multiplayer enviroment.
  6. Thing is, from the top of my head i cant remember if you could combine parts of different "types" within one car. If so, it is ok'ish. If not then I think its simply way too much item management involved. Something that I find to be very, very tedious with the current form of item management and box shuffling we have to go through already (I am looking at you, cooking). In my book that is not an appealing form of complexity, but simply poor game design (actually: interface design/UX design) that forces the players to click through menu after menu after menu. I think this is actually what I meant in my initial post concerning accessibilty. I mean, for the other professions I would wish they only had like half the meat to them as the mechanic trait already has. Trapping, Foraging and Farming feel outright dull in comparison. In this regard I agree with Enigma and really hope for much needed improvements in the near future.
  7. Personally, I think this goes way overboard. Especially when considering how bare bone all the other professions are. Imho cars are way too overloaded with gimmicks already. I mean you have what, like 90+ different car parts already that need to be repaired and maintained? This needs to be tuned down in order to keep it accessable.
  8. Please...no more useless gimmicks. Focus on the essentials please. I rather have a playable game than a 10fps sh*tshow with great spawn mechanics on car keys.
  9. I have been peaking at this feature since early may...
  10. Lag has even increased since the latest patch. FPS are dropping (down to 5-10) like crazy and my character is freezing in place every few seconds for 2-3 seconds. Currently the game is literally unplayable for me, meaning its even impossible for me to find any bugs in this build until i get control over my characters movement again. Please stop adding more and more gimmicks to the game and put some resources into making it testable at least. My specs: Win7, 64bit 980GTX 32GB RAM I7 4770k
  11. Another thing about loot not spawning in correctly - tested in a multiplayer scenario. While it has been mentioned already that loot doesnt spawn in properly when you enter a chunk too fast, we think that we might have narrowed it down to only certain containers. We noticed that if the loot didnt load in properly that it was almost always shelves, bookshelves and industrial metal shelves that spawned in completely empty. Crates, drawers and lockers on the other hand almost always had their respective loot and didnt seem to get affected by the issue. We assume that this is because shelves have two visual states (empty and filled). Entering the chunk too fast might skip the change in states for the shelves therefore resulting in no loot spawning. Something that cant happen to crates, as they only have one visual state no matter how fast you enter the chunk/cell. Another bug we found, but have yet failed to reproduce: While driving around in a high load area the car we were driving bugged out and locked the driver inside. It became impossible to leave, access the players inventory or turn the engine on/off. The character went into full lockdown and only a server restart did fix the issue. Trying to teleport the player via admin powers also failed. As for feedback to specific cars: The 4x4 pickup truck drives like a brickwall without wheels. Steering this thing is pretty hard, especially when compared to even bigger vehicles. Edit: Just found a different 4x4 - this one handles way better.
  12. Can we expect more hotfixes for the aforementioned bugs in the vehicle test branch during this week? Right now we were trying long-term survival and from what we could tell is that the longer the game went, the worse it got. During first few hours it was all fine, but as soon as the zombie count went up and cars kept piling up in places, it got really really bad. Had the server running on 16GB with 4 people playing at a time, around 2 months in the game became a completely choppy lagfest with constant freezes and stutter for everyone. Restarting did help to some extend but it was only a temporary fix. Once a few more fixes have been applied we will be starting over and report back.
  13. A few more things after some hours of playing in multiplayer. Zombies do seem to be able to walk through seemingly closed doors every now and then. For the player the door is properly closed (cant walk through) but is also non-targetable. Zombies can just pass through. Loot doesnt load properly when you enter a chunk/cell? too fast. Driving at full speed into a warehouse for example will result in empty containers. We managed to circumvent that by slowly approacing these areas, giving them time to load in properly. The area around the mall on the northeastern end of westpoint is an absolute no-go area in terms of lag and memory leak. Driving even close to it causes the game to repeatedly freeze for seconds, resulting in crashes and unavoidable deaths. We assume that this is somehow related to the amount of cars on the parking lots. Same issues arise when we are near huge parking lots or areas that hold a lot of cars in general. Game drastically slows down up to a point where it becomes unplayable. Items in trunks disappear when you log off. Some issue when exiting the car, forcing a relog to fix. Here is the description of what happened: I was driving around for approx. 50 minutes, had the whole trunk full of loot when the memory leak became pretty nasty so that i was about to make my way back to base.I came past some wrecked cars on the road and decided to syphon some gas before i head home. When exiting the car my character did leave the car but his walking animation became a floating animation and i was not able to interact with any container or my own inventory anymore. I was simply floating around the world as if the game was still thinking that i was sitting inside the car or something. I was also not able to enter the car anymore, nor was I able to drop my items onto the ground. My character was basically trapped and I had to relog in order to fix this. After the relog all the items in the trunk were lost. Hope this helps.
  14. I might have been able to reproduce the bug with the messed up containers. It happened after the game crashed once. When I restarted the server all kitchen cupboards, shelves and other non-industrial containers had no loot at all or only weird items like pencils and such inside. Before the crash I found tons of kitchen utensils and after all of that was gone. Will try to narrow it down even more later. Maybe I'm able to pinpoint what caused it.
  15. While playing with the current vehicle test branch for roughly 2-3hours, I have the following bugs/issues to report: The game crashed once after a period of roughly 60minutes. Started with stuttering, followed by a loss of framerate and ended with a full freeze that forced me to shut-down and restart the game. Sound loops. Whenever someonme started a car near me, drove away and then parked the car elsewhere, i kept hearing the engine sound repeating itself forever. I tried running to the mentioned car, turning the engine on and off, but nothing helped. Had to restart the server in oder to make the looping engine sound stop. The trunk sizes of all cars are currently at 200 - intentional? When sitting in the passenger seat, the lag was bigger other than while driving the car by myself. All my non-industrial containers were messed up in the game. For example the clothing store between Westpoint and Muldraugh only spawned nails and concrete powder and every kitchen or other inhouse container was either empty or only yielded pens, tissues and more pens. Houses did not seem to have proper roofs. I kept getting soaked during rain while being indoors. It happened here: https://map.projectzomboid.com/#0.5020721811969322,0.17924832698123874,42.797282151628785 (in both houses) Occasionally the car was keeping me trapped inside. Not sure if it was input lag or something else, but pressing E didnt make me leave the car. A few questions or problems I have encountered while playing that might need to be adressed: When there is only one door unlocked on a car, how can i open the other door from the inside? Is it possible to recharge car batteries? I found a car that had a dead battery, opened and closed the bonnet and suddenly the battery was charged again? How can I syphon gas or has it yet to be implemented?* Thats all for now but most likely I have forgotten a few things.
