  1. I don't recall seeing this explicitly mentioned, so I just wanted to verify (and possibly request) that we get NPC raiders in the game, especially late game.

    That is, NPC's that are looking to take your stuff (as opposed to staying put and shooting you on sight).

    Will we be getting this, or something like it? This could be a really nice way to make the late game more interesting and dangerous.

  2. This is a great idea. You might have a color text indicator within asterisks. Green colored might be rotting food while red is rotting corpses (zombie or just dead). Larger more bold text means a stronger smell and can cause a 'disgusted' moodle. Variants for color blind persons of course (e.g. text within asterisks for rotting food and text between underscores for zombies).

  3. I totally agree. Other ideas:

    Alternative power sources:

    Electronic expertise allows the character to use alternative power sources to power electronic devices (e.g. refrigerators or lights) in a very limited way. Should probably require electrician or book recipe

    Some examples:

    - potato battery (use to power stuff-very short duration)

    - car battery outlet (use car batteries to power electronic devices)

    - human power: hook up a bike or treadmill (etc) to a charger to charge devices while exercising

    - handmade hydro generators (only near water sources)

    - small handmade wind turbine

    This here is a gold mine:

    New (makeshift) devices that use alternate power sources:

    - makeshift (potato) flashlight: a bulb with some electric scrap and a metal tube and battery or potato battery to operate

    - makeshift stun gun: delivers a shock that stuns even zombies (drains--e.g. battery-- power quickly)

    - battery powered cooker: cooks food on battery power or alternate power source, you know the drill

    - cooling unit: a cooler that cools like a fridge and works on battery power. Very limited food capacity.

    - water heating unit: boils water on battery power

    You can try this experimental fix:
    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2441122190

    Other than that, there will be a Java update in the future that might fix this issue for older computers, though it might not so no promises. In which case I don't know if there will be any fix since the graphics card wont be able to handle PZ at that point.
    The previous builds will always be available and stable though, so you can always play those.

    BTW, this worked like a charm!  BIG THANKS!  (LOL, my characters haven't lived for more than 3 hours. Love it!)

    Is my main problem the graphics card?  Like, if I upgraded it, will that work?

    The specs barely meet the minimum requirements to run B41, unfortunately. Still, there are a couple of things that you could try! 1) download the latest driver for the graphics card + try launching and running the game in 32 bit mode: Go to "Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid" and run the game with "ProjectZomboid32". 2) lower any settings in Options - try things like "enable Texture Compression", lower resolution, turn down puddle quality and the like. Hope this helps!

    @Pandorea

     I’ve tried all that. no go...

     does this mean that I won’t be able to play the game when version 41 finally comes out, or is this beta specific?

    First of all - are you using any mods? If so, could you disable them and try a pure vanilla game to see if it helps, please?

    You could also share the "console.txt" file found in "C:\Users\YourUserName\Zomboid" to a site like pastebin.com and then post a link to that here so we can take a look.

    Also, tell us your system specifications (ram and graphics card esp) to see if they meet minimum requirements for B41.

    No mods. Sorry, I uninstalled it and went back to version 40. My specs (from memory but I checked them yesterday to make sure my drivers were up to date) are:

     Windows 10 dell, 16 mb ram, Intel hg4600. 64-bit GoG version.

     Edit: would the log still be available if I’ve uninstalled it and installed the older version? I don’t know how to check or where to find it

    May or may not have been suggested before, but player character food likes/dislikes could add another dimension to roleplaying/character creation.

    The Boredom and (Un)Happiness stats of foods are sensible, though static.  Similar to the trait system, pick a handful of things your survivor likes or doesn't like.

    You could also have traits comeinto play. Like, you could have a 'picky eater' trait that gets less happiness from most foods and more unhappiness. Maybe they would refuse to eat things like worms, etc

    English version

        I agree with the idea of improving the Helicopter, however I believe that several of us have different interpretations, and reading what was written here I imagined that the helicopter event could be as follows:
        - Different types of helicopters (News, Military, Humanitarian Aid, Falling Chopper);
    Explanation:
        1. News: It would be the classic event (a few laps and followed by a horde);
        2. Military: As described above, but without all the steps. The start of the event would be by hearing shots from a distance which would result in danger for the player and maybe luck if the helicopter killed some Zeds (but would still attract a horde, only smaller)
    [I don't know how this would behave, since he doesn't spawn Zeds, but attracts existing ones];
        3. Humanitarian aid: Drop some supplies and attract horde to the point of interest;
        4. Falling Chopper: A chopper that had some Zeds hanging from itself, that fall from the Helicopter and leave a trail of dead to the place of the fall (obviously with a lot of noise and attraction of hordes), resulting in an aircraft for looting ( metallurgy or mechanics [not that someone is going to assemble a helicopter, that would be kind of ridiculous]) and maybe some other item, such as something from the 3 models previously mentioned or something different thought by someone, like, I don't know, a helicopter used in farming or something, and that makes a lot, a lot of noise.

    Versão em Português

        Concordo com a ideia de se melhorar o Helicóptero, contudo acredito que vários de nos possuímos interpretações diferentes, e lendo o que foi escrito aqui imaginei que o evento de do helicóptero poderia ser da seguinte forma:
        - Diferentes tipos de helicópteros (Noticiário, Militar, Ajuda Humanitário, Em queda);
    Explicação:
        1. Noticiário: Seria o evento clássico (algumas voltas e seguido por horda);
        2. Militar: Como o descrito anteriormente, mas sem todas as etapas. O inicio do evento se daria pela audição de disparos a distancia o que resultaria em perigo para o jogador e talvez sorte se o helicóptero matasse alguns Zeds (mas ainda sim atrairia horda, só que menor)
    [não sei como isso se comportaria, uma vez que ele não spawna Zeds, e sim atrai os existentes];
        3. Ajuda humanitária: Realiza o Drop de alguns suprimentos e atrai horda para o ponto de interesse;
        4. Helicóptero em queda: Um helicóptero que teve alguns Zeds pendurados em si, que vão caindo do Helicóptero e deixando um rastro de mortos até o local da queda (obviamente com muito barulho e atração de hordas), resultando em uma aeronave para pilhagem (metalurgia ou mecânica [não que alguém vá montar um helicóptero, isso seria meio ridículo]) e talvez algum outro item, como por exemplo algo dos 3 modelos anteriormente citados ou algo diferente pensado por alguém, como, sei lá, um helicóptero utilizado em lavoura ou algo assim, e que faz muito, muito barulho mesmo.

    This

  10. Love it. This would also allow us to 'see' beforehand if some aspect of our planned build doesn't work.  Like, I recently tried to create a 'fishing house' only to find out that I could not create a wall on the south (east?) facing floor edge.  I had to have this ugly extra 'appendage' sticking out on that side.  I wouldn't have wasted the nails had I known that was going to happen ahead of time.

    So, a lot of you use sheet ropes to get up through windows to build second floors, and while zombies can't climb them they can tear them down.

    Wouldn't it be nice to be able to craft a sturdier rope ladder with sticks and sheetrope? And the main reason you would want to is because you can pull the rope ladder back up.

    I like the idea, but tbh, you should be able to pull the sheet rope up
