    Weren't the animations suppose to come so we could get vehicles?
     
    If we get Vehicles first, isnt that more load into the animation update (aka more delayed)?

    Update: Thanks for all the support and I'm sorry for staying silent all this long. I loved the idea of recreating this amazing city but at the time; school, work, some PZ updates, and my old laptop's old hardware made me lost motivation to keep working on this project. I just put everything away just to collect dust. But not anymore, after trying Project Zomboid's new animations for a couple of months, it brought me back that motivation I had when I worked in RC. I always loved the idea to experiment surviving in a city in PZ. And I knew RC would be one of the best cities where people can both recognize iconic buildings and have the feeling of being in a urban city. Thanks a lot and I will bring more updates in a couple of days, but at the time. I exported the map and tested multiple buildings as a Police Officer, I wonder who's Leon and if he at least had a nice first day?

    How you doing survivors, I´ll hope you are doing great. This new post was made to separate the old with the new.
    I have been working in the project pretty slowly but without stopping.

    I´m planning to make a big map, with all Raccoon City´s forests and two little towns called "Stoneville" and "Arklay City". I have many ideas for building the main city and too many tasks to do but I wont stop until the project is done. At the moment, I have the basis of the map as png files and are about 15 chunks for the city.
     
    I'm using this map as reference:

             
    I'm currently working in one chunk with iconic buildings from RE2 and a couple from RE3. I will show pictures of these places but at the same time try to avoid "spoiling" too much about the project. I'd rather have you guys experience it than being spoiled. I'll limit it for places that people already know for the moment.

    Que tal supervivientes, Espero que esten de lo mejor. Hice este post para separar lo antiguo de lo nuevo.
     
    He estado trabajando en el proyecto algo lento pero sin detenerme.
    Estoy planeando hacer un mapa muy grande, con todos los bosques de Racoon city y 2 pueblos pequeños llamados "Stoneville" y "Arklay City". Tengo muchos planes y mucho trabajo que hacer, pero no voy a parar hasta que termine. Por el momento el mapa base esta terminado (archivos png y tmx). Son 15 chunks en total para la ciudad.

    Por el momento Estoy trabajando en solo 1 chunk con los lugares mas famosos de RE2, y algunos de RE3. Voy a mostrat algunas imagenes acerca de estos lugares, pero No voy a mostrar muchos Spilers acerca de la ciudad. En realidad no me gusta Spoilear gente, Por lo tanto solo voy a mostrar imagenes acerca de lugares que fanes de RE conocen.
             Estoy pensando en pedir ayuda, Tendria que medir una cuadra antes de preguntar por un edificio. Por el momento voy a hacerlo por mi cuenta. Gracias por leer el post y espero que disfruten las imagenes.

    I had put this as a response to a mod request, but it strikes me that this may be a good idea for the main game.
     
    It would be nice if you could do something to increase your odds of survival when bitten/scratched and if first aid skill level increases or decreases those odds. Something like (with bites): 
     
    - Leave the wound untreated for some period: 100% infection.
    - Bind the wound within a few minutes: 90% infection.
    - Disinfect the wound only: 80% infection.
    - Clean the wound only: 90% infection.
    - Clean and disinfect: 70%
    - Clean and bind: 85% infection
    - Disinfect and bind: 65% infection
    - Clean, disinfect and bind: 60%
     
    0 to 1 ranks in first aid skill: +10% infection
    2 ranks: +5% infection
    3 to 4 ranks: +0% infection
    5 to 6 ranks: -5% infection
    7 to 8 ranks: -10% infection
    9 to 10 ranks: -15% infection
     
    It would be a good reason to keep a doctor around

    Yes, seeing damaged wall's sprite would be neat. 
    Well, maybe, blueprints instead could decrease building time or something. Imagine, that character is measuring planks, marking places for joints etc.
     
    Originally, I thought that "preparation" part could be an additional stage of building. Like:
    Foundation (Optional) => Wall Frame => Wall lvl1 => Wall lvl2 and so on.
    I added it to the OP, if you don't mind.

    Greetings!
     
    I think it's time to reveal the current mod I'm working on: SpiffoHunt
    SpiffoHunt is a Capture-the-Flag-like gamemode where two teams fight each other to (obviously) capture the Spiffo and have it as long as possible in their own safezone.
     
    I've worked on this for ages, but lost all the work a couple of months. So this is pretty much the second time I started coding this. Some basic things are currently working, but the mod is far from useable right now.
    Because of the bigger scope I would really appreciate it if some of you fellow coders are interested in helping with the mod.
     
    As my previos mods the sourcecode is hosted on github, that's also where you can find more information about it.
    I know that this post is currently pretty barren,  but as stated above: All of this is far from finished/even working!

    I've managed to search the forums of every player made building and assembled them all into one archive. In addition I have created this forum post that organizes all the buildings to make searching very fast. (link down below) This would hopefully help mappers easily find and use buildings to save some time. As I was looking at each players contributions about 35% had dead links, so I could not get all of them. Also if the buildings required custom tiles I did not include them as there were no working links.

    I've seen this too. When you take them by context menu, they turn into sheets, but if you pick them up like a furniture, it stays the same.

    This is the plan. We didn't want to do a big map showing all the different towns and what's in-between them when Mash is still working on the overall map though.
     
    It's also not *really* called Knox County these days. We stopped calling it that, as the map became ever more based on a real place, but it seems old habits die hard in the heads of PZ players

    Would we be able to find different kinds of maps? For example, maybe there is a common tourist road map in gas stations, a map for customers at the Crossroads Mall, a map used by the military to maintain the border of the Exclusion Zone, a map drawn by a dead survivor with markings about certain houses, etc. Maybe it's just fanciful, but I think it'd add some more depth to the maps and such.

    I am not sure what do you mean by that. By "no procedure-generated world" I understood, that there will be no terrain and city generation. And vehicles are confirmed. Sorry, I can't find proof right now. 
     
    It's already in the game. Panic effects decrease with time.

    Well, you're right. That's exactly what I'd do in that situation - live somewhere in the woods, drive out on the looting missions! But! Cars it's: loud sounds, gasoline and maintenance. Mainly gasoline. Sounds fun to me.
     
    Boats too - you have complete defence against zombies, but you have to eat only fish, have nothing to read, need combustibles to boil water, need knowledge to use sails/fuel for motor/need to live in very small space until you die.
     
    I think, it's just a question of balance and amount of work.

    After a very long time of waiting  I have decided to bite the bullet and do my own research and find out how to make a custom map for Project Zomboid. After a Red Bull fueled, grueling 3 days of research I have finally found out how to get started with making a map. I have decided that I would do the community a service and create a tutorial video on how to make a map. A complete all in 1 guide that covers all aspects of the tools and steps needed to get your creativity in gear. The video is long, but worth the watch as you will be on your way to making maps in just a little over 1 hour. I've also added skippable chapters in the video description so you can skip ahead or easily find what your looking for.
     
    ~update~ I've added another video explaining the spawnregions.lua file. It is annotated in the video with a link.

    The mondoids are getting more and more interesting...
     
    Do you plan adding an option to mark zones (like that) on the map? All those colours would really come in handy for marking factions' territories, infested areas, etc.

    Really excited about the maps

    I know it's still a WIP version but I think it might be more intuitive to have the mouse pointer turn into the symbols when you select one. I feel like it would be more clear where you're placing it that way.

    Anyway, great Mondoid as always! Excited to hear about all the things in the works right now

    In regards to the in-game maps made via CartoZed:

    It looks like map notes have a "handwriting"-style font - but, if they're meant to be handwritten notes, why do they scale as you zoom in and out? Looks a little wonky.

    Make falling trees able to heal you, and when you saw a log, it gives you clothes, it would really add to the immersion of the game
