  1. This sounds way better than my idea lol... I'm hoping for now mash can implement a lil code for existing graphics, but if it gets sorted this could def be something later on down the line - maybe even modders could do the legwork once the system is in place. My bad, fingers crossed for turbo then, and all due credit for one of my favorite new features. The graphics exist for "weapons" displays, in the gun shop and shooting range. I would be perfectly fine with maybe those displays being a different tile altogether, but as I said above - could open up a ton of new windows for customisation. Metal shelves with paint cans, a bookcase filled with electronics components.. and maybe a bread basket filled with worms @trombonaught.. after literally everything else hahaha @turbotutone since we're on the subject, the cherry-finish looking desk, along with the larger versions, would be a lovely movable
  2. @RobertJohnson can magazine racks be made movable? and how are the visual contents of the glass display counters decided? default appears to be jewellery, but I would love it to be weapons edit: and ty for the deer heads
  3. any use for the large glass pane? or did I just waste my ingots lol
  4. maybe a cordon around a military base, smaller cordons around police stations, where this was the procedure until it all collapsed. so not only would it add more detail to the world, it would serve to point people toward a cache of weapons etc
  5. @xXSly_WolfyXx @zoeyflower thought I'd abandon my dream of becoming an artist and see what I could accomplish with existing tiles. Didnt forget your precious shadows either lol
  6. pretty much hit the nail on the head.. i know I should prob be a professional artist.. just trying to show other possibilities; the perceived elevation is purely aesthetic:
  7. impassable floor tiles and a shadow overlay. awesome, and simplicity itself EDIT: @xXSly_WolfyXx, for the sake of isometric perspective, dune 2000
  8. Just this; I found it intriguing.. like an optical illusion. Don't ask me how I would do it lol
  9. The graphics are simple but gorgeous, it's like walking around in an oil painting. The survival aspect is unique. Fire is precious. Still in early release, but I've gotten over a hundred hours out of it so far, and they are always coming up with new sadistic ways to challenge you. I'm interested to see how zoey portrays the changing elevation; definitely interested in the forestry lookout. A lone outpost in a sea of wilderness - definite safehouse for the survivalists out there EDIT: quonset huts need to be a thing in zomboid... i think corrugated steel walls with rounded roof tiles might do it. That's where I hang my hat in TLD, and they are quite popular on military bases
  10. This reminds me so much of The Long Dark, which could give you some inspiration if you haven't checked it out. Plus, I'm Canadian, so it's nice see someone represent lol.. makes me wish there was a Canadian flag pole Your roofing is awesome; I find it very difficult so.. respect. Especially, it's small but, the roofing on that main street buffet building... can't believe I didn't think of that, I've been trying to think of creative ways to put those circus tent things above windows but they only come in 2 colours, so either way it will start looking a bit dull after a while.
  11. I had some issues with this too. If you've not downloaded the new tileset from may 2015 you'll have to do that. I think I just googled it. If you have them, in the building editor you need to go to building/tiles... there's a button in that window that says "tilesets..." from there, find your new tilesets and add them all. my goal is to make probably a 1.5x to 2x bigger downtown area than West Point, but probably won't go too crazy with suburbs. Another focus is creating subtle chokepoints/bottlenecks within the downtown area. I will probably change the town hall some more, and maybe compare some similar buildings like the new courthouse in Rosewood, and create something original but familiar. It's always been my favourite building, just as downtown West Point has always been my favourite place, but if I do eventually put it out there, then I suppose I should cater to others somewhat and make something new and worthwhile. In the end though, this map is for me, so if it doesn't have that same nostalgic, white bread, middle American feel that WP has, it just isn't worth my free time.
  12. lol not for me.. last time i tried was like 2 weeks ago but ill give it another go in a bit, ty
  13. if it's early enough in the next build I might be alright if I stop auto updates right after. fingers crossed. right now its one or the other for me
  14. Hydrocraft doesnt update to be compatible with IWBUMS
  15. I. NEED. MULTI-TILE MOVABLES. pweeeeeeease i would hate to have to choose between this and hydrocraft :'(
  16. whats the purpose of all the new cleaners? i wouldnt have thought twice about them, but theyre drainable..
  17. I'll keep my family guy quotes to a minimum
  18. It certainly is how I'm viewing them, and if you aren't being condescending then you should definitely work on your communication skills. Try things like "I'd like to see your interpretation of what a government building might look like, I sure liked your other buildings" or "could you elaborate" instead of "what the shit" "you must be joking..." "kind of obvious" EDIT: In your defense @xXSly_WolfyXx, your last comment was more carefully worded. If you make that effort with all your constructive criticisms, we'll get along fine. And maybe I'll make more of an effort in turn to build my town to your specifications
  19. well the first one was a quote from family guy, about cigarettes, which I could have explained, but... 2nd was me politely asking you to clarify and you smugly telling me it was obvious. 3rd, not copy pasted. not even the same building. I copied the general aesthetic because I like that specific building, and it looks like a government building, which is a bit difficult to pull off. not to mention the entire original town I'm building around it but wtv. the 2 little towns they just added prob took months. I go to university and have a full time job, so I'm sorry if the town that I'm building for my own enjoyment isnt quite up to your standards, but I've got other shit to do than worry about whether my buildings are different enough for your approval.
  20. Then read the first post and make your own town. You've been directly condescending to me 3 times in like 24 hours so yea you are hating. I do have plans to make changes to the police station (it's actually just got a roof, and an east and south wall, just blank space beyond... and its my creation so bit off topic) and the coffee shop (just a filler really, until I can think of something to fill the streets with. funner to zoom out on my town when there are buildings in it), but no, I'm not changing the town hall. Well, other than the amount it's already changed, if you took 2 seconds to compare it to the map. Shall I make my own game? Or at least my own textures. Seems a bit cheap of me just to use the same tiles. Maybe I should invent some other mode of transport; roads are so played out. I'm not hating but gtfo imho EDIT: If it wasn't your 3rd offense, or if at least you spaced them out a bit, I would take your comments in stride, as I have so far, but now youre just a troll and your opinion means nothing
  21. haha that would be the town hall and the coffee shop? if it aint broken don't fix it. although the town hall is being converted into a mansion. i have my reasons..
  22. @Queen Glory threw some quick shops together with the aesthetic I'm kind of aiming for. taking a break from gaming, too busy this time of year, but I didn't want leave you hanging lol. I might move it south and put a small fancy restaurant on the corner, not really logical for specialty shops to get the prime real estate, and not even use the main street frontage haha
  23. haha im usually a stickler but I somehow missed this
  24. yea parking lots are coming lol, the gravel crap is just placeholder tiles so i can size my lots juuust right
  25. Just a couple suggestions after spending many hours farting around with it. I don't really have any complaints, but after reading a post about the merits of it vs. carpentry, I think it needs a buff for the time invested 1. Really not sure, but if log wall is stronger than big pole fence.. no 2. Useless metal/wood - I know it's not quite part of the metalworking, but can we just have a thing that says you failed? Doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me, scrap metal seems to cover the bases. The litter feels very hydrocrafty... maybe just give the textures to hydromancer lol 3. Decrease weight of sheets, pipes and bars slightly; maybe... MAYBE... increase loot table a tiny tiny bit. Ive found it pretty good, esp. with dismantling at higher lvls 4. Decrease metal required for big pole fence, incorporate cement bags, and put cement bags in the same loot tables as plaster. NOW tell me log wall is stronger If you gotta nerf it, nerf the xp
