  1. There are two ways to do this: Using LuaNet Using the (basic) sendServerCommand and sendClientCommand What you should use depends on the functionality you want. With LuaNet you can do more advanced stuff like sending packages to certain players. The initial setup is more complicated though. As an example you can look at my CoxisServerMessage mod. Pretty much all my mods use LuaNet. With number 2 you have a rather easy setup, but lose some functionality. To use it you have the commands "sendClientCommand" and "sendServerCommand". To catch the packages there are the events "OnServerCommand" and "OnClientCommand". "OnServerCommand" and "sendClientCommand" is used on the client, "OnClientCommand" and "sendServerCommand" on the server. Personally I would suggest the LuaNet approach, because if you need some of the advanced functionality down the line or for another mod you are set.
  2. You have seen the recent videos about the water they are working on? Or the animiationvideos they posted a while ago?

    Waterway to Go

The water looks damn nice, although it really does kinda look too good. It's still rather exciting and I'm curious what TIS will do with the land.
  4. @Necromancer had the same problem, Enigma told me to delete the media folder of the game and validate it again. TIS changed the names of the texture files for cars and Steam is not properly downloading the updates.
  5. Cars are all black for me @ Ubuntu 18.04

    Union City

Why didn't I see this earlier! Unfortunately I can't help (no mapping/housing knowledge) but really hope this will see the light of the day.
  7. Damn that looks nice! Hope it's out soon and I'm looking forward for more of your POIs
  8. Characters are stored on the client, so you would have to copy the savegame everytime you switch PC. You could also move your Zomboid-Folder to a cloud-folder that gets synced (look here at the cachedir option).
  9. What are your specs and internet connection? Are you two (you and your friend) the only players or how many players do you have?
  10. You can't extract the map shipped with the game (it's already in a kinda "compiled" way).

    Zedlights

So curious about the new climate system and now with the fancy detection of playerbuilt stuff/sealed areas this is really nice and should open up some new possibilities (claiming of playerbuilt structures).
  12. Greetings, been looking for an android RCON app to administrate my servers but the results in the play store look kinda shady. Anyone has some suggestions?
  13. I personally use LinuxGameservermanger (short LGSM). LGSM is a shell script that has many comfort functions for running a gameserver in linux. I find the setup and configuration pretty straightforward, might want to give it a shot.
  14. Any plans on moving the map? With the newly added towns and little things in the wilderness New Denver overrides a lot of it.
  15. Works now! Thanks Is this something that went wrong on my end?
  16. Linux 64bit dedicated server won't work for me. The error I get upon trying to start the server: OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM warning: You have loaded library /home/.../serverfiles/natives/libPZBullet64.so which might have disabled stack guard. The VM wil$ It's highly recommended that you fix the library with 'execstack -c <libfile>', or link it with '-z noexecstack'. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /home/.../serverfiles/natives/libPZBullet64.so: /home/.../serverfiles/natives/libPZBullet64.$ at java.lang.ClassLoader$NativeLibrary.load(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary1(ClassLoader.java:1965) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary0(ClassLoader.java:1890) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadLibrary(ClassLoader.java:1880) at java.lang.Runtime.loadLibrary0(Runtime.java:849) at java.lang.System.loadLibrary(System.java:1088) at zombie.core.physics.Bullet.init(Bullet.java:38) at zombie.network.GameServer.main(GameServer.java:309) Tried to validate and a complete reinstall. The normal vehicle build in the stable branch works fine for me, but IWBUMS not.
  17. Either change this or that the admin account doesn't count towards the maximum account limit. Having this set to 2 to just be able to have an admin char and a normal char opens the server up for everybody creating a second char for looting and one main char for everything else like leveling.
  18. Hm, the update did overwrite the ProjectZomboid64.json on my linux server. Is this supposed to happen?
  19. Can't play right now, but what exactly is this new UI?
  20. The most noise comes from the tires rolling on the asphalt AFAIK, wind comes into play if you drive pretty fast.
  21. Sorry, didn't come up with a better name for the topic. I'm currently struggling with the linkage of items and lua code altering them. I try to give an example to better illustrate my problem: I was looking at the shotgun and how it's moddata is used to store info with the item object itself, but I just can't get it. Somehow the item "Shotgun" defined in items.txt is generating an instance in lua, which then get's altered and this alterations are stored in the moddata of that specific instance of the shotgun item. How does this all work and when exactly does the shotgun instance reload the stored info from moddata? Why am I asking this: For the past couple of weeks I'm struggling with my cooling box mod. The cooling itself works fine, but it's the reload and persistents that's giving me headaches.
  22. Couldn't reproduce this on SpiffoSpace, but it's kinda hard to gather so many Zeds behind your car without admin, got scratched many times and was forced to hurry before I die. I did some further "testing" and drove from Muldraugh up to the mall and back to West Point main road, no problems so far (ping is from 130-200), didn't experience the bug where ghostzombies scratch me and car is warping back, only thing I noticed is, driving across the Railroad bridge from West Point over to the mall side is pretty much suicide for the car. Was crashing pretty much constantly with nothing in front of me.
  23. Yep, and I know how old nails look like (my grandma still has barns build with them), but pretty much noone in this day and age would be able to smelt iron without fancy equipment (and even then, modern smelters are kinda like a atomreactor to control). If you have the molten iron, sure, it isn't that hard to craft crude nails, but smelting iron isn't as easy as it sounds.
  24. For one it's the medieval and minecraft flair that this would bring into the game. The other thing is: the average joe wouldn't be able to do it. As for the stuff you mention: I don't like the appearance of the barrels either, but in my imagination it's more a placeholder for something really easy. Pretty much everybody would be able to collect rainwater with almost every ordinary item in real life. I'm not a fan of the bombs either and for radios: would limit this to way higher skill levels, but electrical knowledge is way more common these days than knowledge about smithing. I know many electricians (I even studied electrotechnic myself), but I really think that only a very small percentage of the average citizen would know how to build a kinda oldschool furnace to smelt iron (even the guys working in smelting probably wouldn't know how to smelt without the modern machinery). EDIT: I'm by the way totally fine with this if it is completely optional. I do undestand why people would want this, it's just not my cup of tea.
  25. I pretty much agree with all of your points, only thing I really don't won't to see is metalworking end in smithing stuff like nails, axe heads, ... This just doesn't fit PZ and if they really do implement it I hope there will be a setting to disable it. As for trapping: To give the levels more sense I suggest a system similiar to farming. The higher the level the more info you get about the place you are about to setup your trap. So your character would read the tracks of this spot and will get better with each level at it. EDIT: I really really really hope, that TIS reads this and considers the changes proposed here. Would make MP way more diverse and fun.
