the lighting looks awesome i like the gradient kinda effect it has on his chest in the pic

i still dont like the muddy water since the last thursdoid that you shown it. its way too dark reddish in appearance, its probably more realistic but i just dont like the look. imo it should be a lighter, yellower / goldener shade. or atleast a bit more desaturated i guess
now positively i love pretty much everything else about it. my favorite part was the anims video and when you screamed hey you and all the zombies slowly turned around to look at you. that was super menacing love it

Meanwhile RingoD is now helping out Mash when it comes to Louisville, and in particular the suburbs, creating house variants on what we already have in-game so that when the larger urban area finally arrives (as we’ve said before, this is a huge project so will be several public builds away at least) the expanded number of buildings won’t feel cookie-cutter.
remember quality over quantity. make a smaller louisville thats interesting to explore with fun and cool locations rather than a huge louisville with random generated messes to the point where the only redeemable quality of it is "its hugeee woow"

this truly is THE crappiest mod on this site love it

i made these types of dormers for my usa buildings pack with the vanilla tiles. just create a room the size of the dormer, then create 2 seperate roof slopes around it. for the part with the visible wall, u need to make a flat roof and place the roofing manually in tile mode or else the roofcap will show in your interior.

first house (the two story) looks weird imo. too many randomly placed windows, i dont get why theres a wall with a window on an open balcony? lol it looks funny in a bad way
second house is a huge improvement already. i love the roof of it. but watch the middle of it, theres 3 doors connecting with eachother. probably a nitpick but it also looks a lil weird. other than that though its pretty awesome.

theres tons of tiles already and it would be cool if there was a notice like "added new communitychurch tiles" or "new wooden walls, roof accents and color variations" i got the one you posted a few days before this one and am still not sure if theres any changes / new additions / modifications done to any of the tiles in it. just wondering

Haha, I think everyone has got doughnuts under their belt these days. Especially those who use Blender
Thank you for your compliments I like the idea of reviving this General Creativity thing. So keep posting your progress and we'll make it happen! How is the game progressing, btw?
Here's something else I've dug out from my library of works from last year. Gotta get back to it really.
my games are a mixed bag cuz i often lose interest for one topic (survival) and then gain it again for another favorite of mine (good ol slasher movies and survival horror games) i recently rewatched a bunch of puppet combo gameplays (puppet combo is an indie dev who makes amazing 80's slasher games with playstation 1 graphics and got a cult following) and played some friday the 13th and now im picking up work on a slasher game im making again and most of the time i spend days just modeling and painting clothing for my modular characters. im dreading the time when ill have to animate em all as im not that much of a good animator and dont necessarily enjoy the process of creating animations either.
i was thinkin of using mixamoo animations but i want my games to be 100% only my assets so any updates on them will be far off from now on but im sure ill have something cool to show at some later points.
as for your picture, literally couldnt tell if that was a render or a photograph until i saw the books. don t. sellout and iam strong are awesome names XD love it.

To me I can easily imagine a zombie grinding off all the flesh on its fingertips and could wear/break/grind the bones down into more jagged/sharp points that could do some nasty scratching.
that sounds pretty plausible though i never saw it like that. still even if that wasnt the case i imagine the nails grew quite a bit since zombification (and probably hardened too) so getting a more than superficial scratch / cut from a zombie attack would be very possible and could definitely lead to infection
but, yeah, grinding the flesh off, yeah, that too

i was lookin for a zombie mall game on google images and eventually found a link to a mall map mod for the game way back before these forums existed and the game still had sprites
think around 2013? or 14 maybe. i wasnt much of a fan back then cause it got boring fast and i still think its very boring so i havent played this for like 2 years now but im still patiently waiting for animations and npcs to release and then im sure a lot of people are gonna go play this instead of dayz and the game and multiplayer will be alive again
im still checkin out the thursdoids every week just waiting for the day that the good stuff will release

i love it a lot it looks almost real!!
and the donuts look delicious too D:
did you render in blender?

That is...ambitious, so good luck!
it definitely sounds ambitious but playmaker makes it so you dont have to code a single bit, what i explained is easily done within a few days work
33 minutes ago, Pandorea said:Also, for survival purposes: shouldn't this windbreaker be brownish-greenish-camoflagey? White and red geometric pattern will stand out in a forest in British Columbia in the same way it would stand out anywhere else..
haha yeah thats a thing, they all have different color variations. also its not 100% forest, youll have some little towns inbetween (think banff) a few campgrounds and lakeside resorts etc.. this is an air jordan windbreaker that youd find in more urbany areas, rural areas will have the same model but with green / forest color schemes. theres also other items like hunting jackets to make sure you dont stick out of the forest
35 minutes ago, Pandorea said:Add some dirt smudges, maybe? Survival is dirty business
thats a good idea now that you mention it, ill probably lightly weather some clothes and then you can get them dirt stained when you crawl around in mud or dirty areas.

its for a single player open world survival game im trying to make
Spoileri planned it to be like the forest but with zombies in an open large rural mountain environment somewhere around british columbia canada and im using unity with an addon called playmaker which is what the forest's devs used for their super indepth cannibal ai (they got patrol routes investigate when u fell to many trees they mourn their dead and try to drag and heal them from combat they got a sleeping and praying system mark paths towards ur bases once they find you and even create art and setup effigies dynamically and all in all they feel like realistic real life monsters) im trying to do the same thing with the humans where youll have groups of bandits and neutrals and friendlies who have their own schedules their own outposts and their own goals that they will realistically follow
it will play kinda like the last of us mixed with dayz mixed with neo scavenger mixed with the forest but im trying to make it stand out with my own spins and such

i would love to hear realistic death elements added to the sounds to make pz a much more horrifying and real athmosphere. like hearing a grudge style death rattle, or hearing them do some form of agonal breathing when idle D:

TBH, I'd rather they they not redirect resources from Metalworking in favor of NPC's.
You got NPC's all over the place in State of Decay. Are any of us playing that game now?
unfair comparison. the npcs in state of decay are pretty bland and scripted, it still made for a fun game that a lot of people actually played and liked. not to mention they were all friendly. npcs in pz are said to be unpredictable, smart and could be all kinds of things from bad to evil to neutral to friendly etc.. it will definitely make me go back to this game because i finally have a real threat to fear and plan against instead of the easily avoidable, shambling and highly predictable zombies which are more of an environmental obstacle than anything else

some blender stuffs i made
tramontina machete
very proud of this one cause it went way faster and easier than i thought and ended up looking a lot better than i thought too. think it only took me like 10 minutes to do this entire model + texture and material and all that.
jason voorhees knockoff jacket (wip)
still a work in progress and some of the texturing is more subtle due to the shading effects of blender but its roughly done. its the jacket of my zero budget jason voorhees ripoff, jackson vaugheen, who instead of a green button up workshirt sports a green button up carhartt jacket
michael myers knockoff mask
this is something i grew very fond off because of its simplicity and how easy it was to make it.
for my project it will be one of two masks for my michael myers ripoff "mitchell mayes", the other being a don post emmet kelly mask which was the first idea thrown around for a scary mask that would fit michael myers. they opted for the william shatner mask instead and slightly changed somethings such as cutting out bigger eyeholes and spray painting it completely white. but i still liked the don post emmet kelly mask idea a lot and wanna remake one later.
a very low poly pine tree
pretty much a low poly pine tree

im a huge fan of instant kill enemies like that though, for me its way more fun than just bad injuries. its a great way to punish the player for being careless against / underestimating their opponent.
playing days gone on hard is one of the more fun experiences i had in recent gaming. a single infected kills you in 2-3 hits and is hard to dispatch without proper equipment, forcing you to think twice over wether youre going to enter combat or sneak past (9/10 times the better option) as well as making the game much, much more intense.
