  1. I've got the mod that does that already, it seems like a no-brainer that it should be added in but then again I guess it throws balance to the wind... Not to mention I think the idea for the game was that everything happened while you were taking a long nap on your day off. XD
  2. Yeah, equalizing the trait costs would go a long way. For Carpentry maybe, but I've never really noticed nimble or aiming doing much for me until they're much higher, even then nimble is such a background ability that it often passes over my head. Aiming is currently ridiculously nerfed. XD
  3. This was pointed out to me by someone I was introducing the game to and honestly now that I see it, it baffles me as to why it isn't in the game. What I mean by non-trait skillpoint spending is that I've often ended up with one skillpoint remaining during character creation with nothing to spend it on. It would be nice if you could take that skillpoint and add one point to a skill category of your choice. What do you think?
  4. Please explain how you did it for the unenlightened. I have no clue as to how to update my game. T_T
  5. Since every player has one it would make sense as at least a random drop... But I'd say their name would better fit being attatched to zombies that carry a wallet as loot.
  6. I take that as meaning no Left4Dead style mutations. The zombies I'm talking about aren't superhuman or "special infected", they just make sense. Policeman zombies by the police station and zeds benifitting from the gear and traits they had before zombification. I mean, zombies in suits and ties in the Knox Bank, Spiffo's fry cooks in aprons, farmer zombies, doctor zombies. Then again, I guess the Putrid Zombies idea does kind of fall into the mutant side of things but it would be amazing if zeds decayed overtime. I mean they already get slower and such but there's no visual representation. Imagine if they became more infectious as they decayed, they're leaking out fluids from all over their bodies. It would add a fear factor to the late survivors, going out and killing zeds would be easier but so would the chance of becoming infected making the late game more risky and less farm in fort, rinse, repeat. I hope so. And yeah, the zombie with grenade attatched is a bit over the top but that scene from season 5 of the Walking Dead really struck a chord with me. But the devs said no to military aid, whether this means there will be no military (but... But Fort Knox?) or if they'll just be useless and fall early, I don't know. Either way, military zombies will be few and far between if they're around at all. Nah, you watch in horror as your body moves about and starts humping the nearest door. With the coming of NPCs, I guess that's obvious. But I can only hope they'll benefit from the gear. EDIT: I also didn't see that "playing as a zombie" was on the list of "no's" until my fourth read. :I It doesn't have a "[n]" next to it so I probably thought it had something to do with personal hygiene. Sigh... I can still dream of my days as a zombie. T_T
  7. Another couple of suggestions, I did do a quick check and couldn't spot anything similar. 1: Special Zeds. I don't mean Left4Dead style mutants, that's the far end of the spectrum. What I mean is Zombies that spawn specific to an area or building or have unique attributes. Police zombies in full riot gear around and in a police station that take more hits to kill. - Seriously decomposed zombies that die easily but have a greater chance at causing infections and spreading THE infection. - Military zombies, perhaps with a grenade hooked to their belt that could explode if shot. - Zombies with traits inherited from their humans and NPCs. Strong characters turned zombies are harder to knock down, those who were very fast get a bit of a shambling speed boost, etc. 2: Zombie Mode. With the addition of NPCs eventually making its' way to the public or simply just as a little interesting bonus for after you die; imagine playing as a zombie. The player could move around and attack other players (though not able to harm other Zeds). They wouldn't be able to use items or open doors, but they'd be able to issue a hoarde gathering moan. Perhaps in multiplayer a time limit would be attatched to prevent spiteful players for gathering a zombie army but as a singleplayer minigame, dropping you in the centre of Muldraugh and starting the rise of the dead could be epic. What do you think?
  8. A residential building in Arcadia, it's technically a tri-semi-detatched house.
  9. Any chance you'll be releasing the tileset? I mean, I have it all compiled and can make maps with it already, but I'm pretty sure most people don't have the ability and time to convert the pack files for use in Tilezed. And if you don't get your muse back and eventually drift away from Zomboid, it would be nice to have it available.
  10. *Listens for crickets....* Gosh... I can't even hear them. Well... No undead Pokemon I'm afraid. And an update of my tileset collection: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3702ud4tudyb1f0/OkamikurainyaTilesetsV0.0.2.rar New version includes cliffs and Wild West tiles. Tombstone City anyone? Huh huh? Hint hint? Anyone? Maps made with the old version are fully cmpatible but any made with these new tiles will require this new version.
  11. Working on it! Unfortunatly I never managed to get involved with the Jagged Alliance community. Anytime! I lack secondary skills in certain areas so I'm all for sharing. I'm really astonished more custom tilesets haven't been released. Creativity sometimes needs the whole town!
  12. Also wondering when this will be back up. I'm all for maps that can change the atmosphere of the game or just set in a different "biome".
  13. Triple post... Two on the same day no less... Ooh er... But fret not, for I bring gifts! V0.0.1 of Okamikurainya's tilesets! Containing all the tiles you see below: Download:http://www.mediafire.com/download/tfq3bx2gt661ba1/OkamikurainyaTilesets_v0.0.1.zip I really hope to see at least one awesome cave map.
  14. The Pretoria Art Museum, it and the surrounding grounds will be at the very centre of the Arcadia Map. On another little side project, I'm working on additional spawn maps for the vanilla survival/sandbox game, ones that truly baffle me by their exclusion and some just for fun: Dixie, KY. Knob Creek, KY. Knox County, KY. (Stand alone map from "You have one day") Pony Roam-O, KY. Valley Station, KY. If anyone is up for joining the Arcadia, PTA map project then I could use all the help I can get. I need: LUA scripters. Sprite and Tile artists. Anyone willing to work on a single city block surrounding the area I'm working on, even if it's just the buildings for me to place. Anyone interested in working on building interiors. Critique. I'll be focusing on the four blocks circled in red in the opening post. I'll also be releasing the first version of my tileset during the week sometime, once I've gotten all the basics for Arcadia in and finished with the cave tiles. You, you fluffy doge you, get a gold star. Arigato!
  15. Started work on the student lodge recreational building: Also, I GOT CUSTOM TILES WORKING IN GAME!!! "Oh don't let the cave-in get you down. Don't let the falling rocks turn your smile into a frown!" Thanks! I'm fine with the buildings, for now at least, but since I'm working on a lot of apartment buildings you'd be up for doing some interior decorating or polishing the buildings? Thanks! Now that I can easily add tiles I'll be able to do a lot more without worrying about pulling my hair out in frustration. And yes, I'll be releasing the cave tiles soon, there are a lot better mappers than me out there who I'm sure can do a lot more with them than I can.
  16. So I've decided to upload a few pics and such based on the maps I'm working on at the moment. Old stuff (No longer being worked on:
  17. Hey there all, I'm not sure if this idea has been posted before but since zombies get slower as they "decay" I thought it might be a possible idea to actually add as a mod or a feature of the game. The zombies don't have that many skins as is and they can end up feeling pretty samey... I was wondering if it would be possible to add various states of decay based on how old the zombie is? Maybe making their skin greener/greyer as they age with browner patches and maybe bones sticking through? Perhaps even resulting in their downgrade to crawler once they reach a certain point? While on the subject, perhaps something that would add a bit of immersion into multiplayer games is having the zombies attracted to recently dead players as though they're "feeding"?
  18. Hi there all! I'm new to the Project Zomboid mapmaking scene and I've been messing around with small projects for a bit to get the hang of things (May or may not upload my remake of Pokemon's Kanto ) But recently I've started on my main project of taking the area I live in and making it into a map. The area in question is Pretoria, South Africa, starting with the Arcadia suburb. Now, South Africa is quite a different kettle of fish when compared to the North American maps and I've started compiling my own tileset for the endevour with savanna floor tiles and new trees. 1) Is it possible to reverse the seasons for the southern hemisphere without having to re-reverse them when you want to play on one of the other maps? 2) I'm making Jacaranda trees, sort of like a cherry blossom but with beautiful purple flowers. During spring they leave a carpet of fallen purple flowers. Is it possible to have it that during spring these petals start to accumulate around the trees and start to vanish come fall? 3)Disabling snow? This is AFRICA! (kicks a zombie into a death pit) 4)Pretoria is a city, so far the buildings around my suburb are at most 8 stories. I read somewhere that eight stories is the maximum height for buildings but I see that I can make buildings in the editor as high as I want... Is this something that was fixed or is it still a problem? 5)Is it possible to make objects hurt the player AND zombies? Pretoria is a city of walled houses lined with barbed wire and sharp pallisades, homes are designed specifically to keep people out (one of the reasons I think it would be interesting during a zombie apocalypse, not to mention the single suburb's population of 23,404 in an area only around 3km2). 6)Last question, just a general bit of advice for adding new trees and have them actually be... Trees. I'm working things out but it would be a nice bit to speed me along.
