Trees growing in less than a year on pavement? Heck there are known towns that are still standing that were abandoned all through the world and no trees busting up through the streets. Even after 20-50 years.

Leave the trees out of it and I can be cool with grass and bushes being grown that maybe I can remove say if I was wanting a clean looking safe house area.

Honestly even using a percentage a person in real life with no experience can easily make a judgement call on how damaged a door is.

Base it on carpentry and the higher your level the more accurate it is. For the first few levels can be simple call. Higher the level you know if you can repair it or not.

I would love to be able to repair them. Say one board per level. Zero exp means it takes 10 boards and 20 nails since you have no clue and waste material. 10th level one board and two nails as you know exactly how to repair something.

Changing the texture is a great idea. Along you lines of thinking I hope that they allow simple fixes to doors.

E.G. Just changing the missing items like you mentioned and not rebuilding the door unless it is demolished.

Not sure if this is even read by devs anymore but how about listing clothing based on how bloody it is. The most bloody at the top and least on the bottom. Right now when water is shut off I want to clean the worst pieces of clothing but have to take time to inspect each one and go from there.

It already has a percentage scale for how bloody it is should it not be easy enough to rank it to save people time?

I do kinda of like the idea that if the chopper comes around and your willing to try and be in a area long enough for the chopper to "see" you that there is a chance of a care package.

Yes there was solar panels in 1991. They were big, bulky, and did not generate much but they did work.

I have always wondered about this myself. With the new combat system coming up this would be a nice addition.

Interesting idea. I would say that your system has some merit but if it was implemented maybe only for levels after five. This way you have a grasp of things but to expand into higher learning you need the shops.

You would not have seen windmills generating electricity, they were more for things like pumping water. One thing you have to remember batteries sucked for storage. Batteries now days are getting better but they still suck as a medium to store electricity long term. I brought up windmills as a more likely thing you would see before you would see a solar panel.

Electricity is not a real need item when the world ends. If you did need it your more likely to have a generator. I personally would be terrified to run a generator in a zombie apocalypse. A generator would echo so bad in Kentucky it would draw hoards. Generators I used in the 80's and 90's were not like the quiet ones we have now days.

If you need a way to justify something like this then when you build something a zed hears it from a distance and moves a bit closer. Them moving closer brings other zed.

In scouring the town you tend to go down certain paths. Over time your scent builds in certain areas. Zeds move toward scent and other follow.

Over time they would track you back to an area.

Maybe have a bad luck random and a horde follows and your surprised but more often than not just constant stragglers till you spend a certain amount of time away.

8% your battery is dead. Sometimes it is even hard to get the cars started with 100% battery.

I can have a car who's overall repair is over 85% and still it stalls. I just take it that it is the cold weather.

It would be nice that once a car is below a certain damaged threshold you should  be able to take a torch to it and remove it from the world.

Or limit them to just the windows and open doors/walls. Perfectly fine with black areas while inside.

Also would be nice to be able to adjust certain settings like these when selecting preset options like 'six months later'.

A universal option setting if you will.

Actually a very real issue would be zombies bones puncturing tires. Bodies getting caught in the wheel wells. Getting into the actual engine and ripping a belt. Busting the radiator.

There is some very real world issues that would be justified with running over zombies that would justify doing damage to the cars. Along with more damage to windshields and car door damage.

Smaller cars should get bogged down in zombie groups. Larger ones should face a higher rate of flat tires and engine issues.

I like the idea of a cure less and less even after 1000+ hours of play. More like a temp cure for one bite. IE a salve that eliminates a bite.

Use uncommon items so that there can only be a limited amount of cures in a given game even after scouring the entire map.

So antibiotics, gun kit, all three types muffler, candy cane, ...

Basically rare types of items. Need something from each even though the idea of them is stupid. IE a special metal in the muffler. A specific lube that comes in a gun kit....

Your story play it like you want. Fish of a certain weight. A dead squirrel. An Ice pick ( I think I never seen an ice pick before).

    Lock it behind multiple skills.

Mechanic to build device. Electrician to wire/calibrate. Metal workers to frame. Medical to have the knowledge.

Agreed. The First Aid skill is kind of worthless in sandbox as you get so few chances to train it up without, as you stated, deliberately hurting yourself.

Steam Workshop :: Get Firstaid skill by examining dead zombies

This is a mod that is along the lines of what your saying though. Works well when I tried it.

I have to agree that cooking is about the most boring thing to do in PZ. I don't mind grinding, otherwise I would not be playing this game, but cooking is the worst after you 100th+ play through.

It would be nice if making the choice of a fruit or vegie salad that you could click on random and it just grabs what is needed. In the long run it really matters little on what you add. Some are better some worse but 99% don't care about that little extra that could be had.
