  1. OK I have it solved. After deleting the folder Zomboid in /home/steam/ (of course re-configuring server.ini is necessary) I could finally connect to the server.
  2. My game crashes when I try to connect to my server. I have tried restarting the server. restarting the client machine. reinstalling java on both, client and server machine (both use open java-8) 64bit as it is 64bit Ubuntu 15.03 I did app_update 380870 validate on the server machine (to check wether files were corrupted). My ports are forwarded as follows: 16261:udp 16262-16330:tcp I can connect to the server and I can create a character, however on loading map it just crashes. I can connect fine to other servers. in the server console I can see that everything runs fine till port assignment: 16262, client seems connected fine. then, connection closed: reason=1 port=1 disconnecting client ID auth failed sending ticket response: 4 I have tried connecting wiht -nosteam option, but then my server will not show up at all.

  4. Now I cannot connect to my server, because my client crashes on connect. server runs on ubuntu 15.03 open java-8 64bit. I tried restarting the server and I tried reinstalling java. will try reinstalling the server as well.
  5. Yep! I just realized the version difference, from yesterday.. and that now ded.sh has gone, but thanks for the link! installing new ID now! I guess all solved.
  6. I am quite sure I followed all the guides. My ports are forwarded as following 16261:udp 16262-16330:tcp also the local ip is spelled correctly in my router. I am running the server under user steam as I used steamcmd to install the server. I have configured the file in /steam/Zomboid/server/server.ini as well as the dedi.sh and I also played a bit around with the .xml inside the gamefolder (i am sure nothing is spelled wrongly I have had quite some experience with xml lately and also server start does not spit out any error.) the server.ini is set to public=true port=16261
