  1. A few of them likely didn't have "fresh" status, but let's be real... is a delicious open face sammich amidst the zombie apocolypse going to push someone to suicidal depression because the eggplant wasn't fresh out the freezer? Come onnnnn guys, fix that. It's silly.
  2. So after messing with the cooking menu I've found that the more ingredients you put in a sandwich the more Boredom and Unhappiness it gets, even stuff like fresh meats and spices. My character made a remarkable sounding ham, chicken, mustard and veggie sanwich and it had values of +60 Unhappiness and +60 Boredom or so. That's... honestly very stupid. Fix soon please?
  3. But the exact opposite of that is true. If you release a dozen features like... vehicles, anims, base building... and then eventually build a massive and complex NPC system into the game then all the work you've put in over those years has to be completely redone. NPCs, to a decent quality, would have to have some impact on these game mechanics because other survivors would be a major central element of the game. I would argue you have it quite backwards and by putting NPCs on the backburner like this we'll either see every smaller development having to be reworked from the ground up or the project crashing under its own weight.
  4. This message was still on there when I purchased the game FIVE YEARS AGO. I do not think you have any grounds on putting this out as a defense? Just circled back after another year putting off the game to see if they've implemented some of the basic promises they made, and sadly they have not- just the addition of vehicles that seems to have become a top priority for some reason. It's well implemented so I don't fault the quality, but their priorities are distraught. I realize you are a moderator and can't bad mouth the game or anything, but please do not wave off customers expressing genuine concern that it has taken *half a decade* and we still haven't seen even the beginnings of a system we've been waiting for since buying this product. I don't think that's being unfair?
  5. Actually I'm right there with you. The graphics and animations do their job just fine, I never expected a deep graphics system. I wanted to see gameplay features, mechanics and variety. Which I HOPE are somewhere in the updates list... after animations, reskins and the inevitable sound overhaul...
  6. Playing on Survival IWBUMS and I'm having a pretty normal time of it, living past 6 months now and just building a nice base with walls and a garden etc. But I've noticed something that's really ticking me off. I put two doors at the front of my wall (I have a wooden wall running the entire circumference of the Town Hall) and every freaking DAY the doors attract zombies. Only the doors. Nowhere else on the manmade walls or any other feature or building on my base. I never hear thudding or anything from any other location. But the zombies seem magnetically drawn to the doors and I'll always have 2-3 zombies headbutting JUST those squares. It seems quite clear the programming right now makes the zombies a little TOO obvious in what they target. If they were all over the place and hitting various points of my defences that would be fine, but they aren't. Considering just building rope ladders over my walls and removing doors entirely.
  7. I've always found this to be a problem. I think it has more to do with zombies always being drawn to the player area rather than the structure itself though... I understand it's probably not hard coded to be that way but for whatever reason I can give the two following as examples of this weird behaviour; 1) Finding an area which contains roughly 0 zombies on arriva at the absolute south of the map. Created a small base down there using basic carpentry. One in-game week later the area was swarming with freshly spawned packs of Zed. Probably 50-100 in the zone. It stayed this way permanently. If I walked in any given direction the numbers would decrease and vanish back to 0 all around. The biggest issue with zombie migrations right now seems to be that zombies just happen to 'spawn' (I know that's not the accurate description) around wherever you happen to be. 2) In my largest base I constructed solid walls in place of all the doors around the bottom floor. The only exception being one segment of wall which was not fully enforced (was a carpentry level 3 or 4 wall I believe). Every day, without fail, a pack of zombies would roam to the base for the sole purpose of attacking this ONE wall. Never had any assaulting anywhere else, regardless of natural or player made. But zombies would approach the area and laser-target this one piece. Usually I had to kill 3-5 zeds each game day to keep that one spot clear. So yes, zombies do priorities player made pieces for whatever reason, I can confirm that. They also do zone-in on the player even when the area itself started without any zombie population. It's not that I have a particular problem with this- especially in survival, since the whole point is to make living and defeding yourself difficult. The reason I point it all out is that the devs and supports have constantly said these are NOT the directions they want to go in. So when we see it happening in game, we feel it need to be pointed out.
  8. Smashing stairs seems perfectly fair since you can do that IRL. It does mean the game has to be creative with dangers though- maybe NPCs with the ability to climb sheet ropes?
  9. Pretty much what I've done. My base is held up in the logging company at the far south-west of the map. Inside has roof access and an isolated stairwell. I'm considering trashing the stairs and just using ropes to get to and from the roof (to both interior and exterior). Already got my farm flourishing and about 10 water catcher barrels going. All I need is to stockpile even more canned foods for the coming winter (have enough right not to get through the first). And since I live outside 90% of the time I never seem to get boredom I get the feeling this is similar to how sky fortresses work but I've never actually seen one.
  10. Are you guys ever considering putting a Fanboy addition up on steam? Even if it just comes with a donators badge on the menu screen or something. If it supports the game and means we get a collectors variation, I'd buy it.
