I read things in the dark, cook in the dark, etc. in real life.

    112. With the Night Owl trait, you'd be able to! Would make it much more useful than it is currently.

I can't really estimate the size of the map because there is no reference, but if it is really huge what about this: make one town at the coast the spawntown where people can group up and start their expeditions from?

How about some long hair for males? Idk, like my avatar pic or a simple ponytail. Sure it's impractical in a ZPocalypse but I'd love to have a character that looks a bit more like myself.

This is awesome! I tend to just go with messy normally, which isn't exactly messy at all... In fact it's almost identical to short...
So the addition of new hair is an awesome idea! Keep up the good work.

Sorry for taking so long guys, I switched jobs and I spend most of my free time trying to figure out this being a father thing lol. My son is only 8 months old and I spend all of my free time with him. He and his mother went on "vacation" to visit family out of town so I finally got time to complete the mod. Sorry, and I hope everyone hasn't lost interest.   When you choose one of the custom hairstyles at the character creation menu the character preview will show the player bald. Don't freak out, that is completely normal and as of right now there is no way to change it.   There are 2 different versions, both included in the download. One is for players that use Jab's ModelLoader and the other is for players that don't. Either way the install instructions are included. Have fun!!!    Download  Alternate Download If you enjoy this content feel free to Donate. FYI, the mod is still currently beta, though it works perfectly fine. It's only beta because I'm not finished adding hairstyles for men and I haven't even started adding beards or hairstyles for the women. I have actually created my own tools to make it easier, once production is finished I will release the tools also, that way everyone can add their own hairstyles to the game easily.   ALSO...Do not add my mod to any modpacks.

I think pens already run out of ink! I heard somewhere that writing alleviates boredom and that's why writing tools have limited use. If the same boredom-alleviation went into writing on maps, it could help prevent the (anticipated) problem of workig on your map only to return to a super bored character.

Well, it seems to be working, at any rate.

a distinct icon would be nice being able to open multiple item/recipe definitions in tabs would be helpful (can currently run two instances of the program to do this) does this keep a temp file so that if the program crashes, your work is preserved? What about an auto-save function? Tooltips would be nice. I did not know what the red dot of death did. I do not understand how to modify the base scripts -- I guess this means I'm in modder mode? Input/output alternative formats, other than the game's script. In particular, CSV would be useful for balancing in Excel. perhaps it'd allow the easy writing of a wiki bot to process that data, as well the Search tab is totally blank could a key be added ("ingredient"), even if it is purely aesthetic? It should help people understand what's happening with recipes (add blank field -> put in item name is a bit obtuse) In one instance, it wouldn't let me raise or lower a field for unknown reasons. Deleting the field and re-creating it solved this

    Hello,
I noticed the helicopter sprite that I made for Hicks for the RedBoid server is currently present in the Hydrocraft texture files.   Can you please credit me for making it at least?
If you want evidence that I've made that, I can kindly pm you the messages with me and Hicks.

    Best regards.

I hope I'm not being rude when I say this, or ignorant since I haven't died yet to see if this is even a problem, but in English we still use the plural of the noun when we have zero of them. Hence,

    "You killed one zombie."
    "You killed zero zombies."

But thanks for the update RJ, cheers!

Alright, so first of; if you're unable to respond nothing but sarcasm; go fuck yourself.

Secondly; TIS is a company, a business, and I bought a product from their company because of their advertisement based on promises that claimed NPC's and vehicles in their online world. A promise that has not yet been even close to being delivered, MANY years after advertising with it. So if you can't understand why I might have questions about how a product I invested in is doing in its developement; then go fuck yourself.

Thirdly; if you've heard this many times before, there might be a reason for that. It's not just coincidence. It's not just me asking this question. If you take a look on their Steam-page, there are HUNDREDS more asking the exact same question - namely because there is no one addressing the issue about the lack of the core elements that was advertised in this game.
If you're unable to understand this; then go fuck yourself.

    We're done here.

    SlyWolf and VanVon;
Thank you, for both responding like normal people, and not like the rest of the dim-witted fanboys that seems to saturate this forum. There is nothing wrong with asking questions about a product, especially not when you've personally invested in the business - to further their potential.

@syfy I think the main issue is that they show things that look far along but in reality they are months or even years away, They can take all the time they want but after 5 years people are obviously going to be upset that the features they bought the game for still aren't implemented.
It's these words that have been repeated over and over, How can people have faith in something that they don't even know they will see in 2 or even 3 years time. Will we even have vehicles or hunting at that point? Sorry for being a downer I'm just tired of waiting like everyone else.

In the early 2014, I posted a topic (which has now been deleted) regarding when the NPC's and vehicles would be implemented, and it's now been two and a half years without any progress on that front at all.
Instead, you've focused on graphical updates, VOIP - both of which seems completely unnecessary to me, and expanding the map - last part being something that the modding community was already doing.

So, I come to ask you now; why are we not getting any progress on the two core mechanics you sold the game on in the beginning?

    [EDIT: It has been deleted]

It's not even that their job has to be useful for them to be useful. There's still traits and hobbies for exactly this reason.

Heck, "unemployed" is already popular for people who want to pick-and-choose their starting bonuses.

The accountant could have a bonus to their bartering/trading skills, and the retail clerk could have could have better social perception skills, knowing what people want and/or how they're feeling (heck they could even have a slight barter bonus as well).

Everyone still has skills in the apocalypse though, it's just that some of those skills require other people (NPCs) to be useful

Lumberjacks and Fire Officers in general have training/practice in swinging that axe. About as much as any profession does in their proper bonuses. Either way the "faster axe" swing is applicable to both professions directly. Not so much general. So the Axe man trait would fit both it.

Heck, it was on the Fireman profession before it was on the Lumberjack one. The removal itself might have been meant to not be permanent, because as of now the benefits of taking firefighter are hardly worth the 8 points as sprinting (and keep in mind the bonus is only +1) is easy enough to level up for all builds and the +1 to fitness/strength is menial compared to the traits that specifically raise either of them. Balance-wise, compared to the other professions, Firemen either needs a lower cost or the Axeman trait for it to actually be worth that much point-wise.

Potentially an oversight, but as firemen definitely use an Axe for fire rescue (and for gameplay balance reasons) it would have made more sense to keep it in.

    353: Here's a good one.

Add the Axe-man trait back to the Firemen so more balanced for the 8 points the job takes away (It's just a small athletics bonus otherwise).

Context: Fire officers had the axe-man trait already but it was removed after the last big job update. One thing Fireman are good at is using axes to chop doors down. While the trait may not have that functionality just yet, they still have the axe training/usage that makes them worthy of the trait.

Well for one, NPCs are the threat that is suppose to fill that gap when you feel comfy inside your base.
Also hordes in the middle of the woods is not the way to go, we still have that promised update of hunting/wildlife.

So i am pretty sure we are going to encounter some sort of wolf, bear or some wildlife predator down the PZ road.

If anything, DayZ showed me how great it feels to be threatened by wildlife in a zombie game when you think that the woods are safe to travel on.
