  1. Uhm, just making cars carry tons of loot and go long distance without any draw backs is kinda OP. Tire condition and low air pressure causing low/high tire friction is a real world problem, and rusted out crappy brakes are quite a real world problem too. I don't see any issue in making the cars more interesting instead of them just adding in an op way to move a ton of loot to point A to B, sounds pretty boring/ a waste of potential cool additions. Hell I think it could use a bit more features in my opinion, integrating metalworking, electrician and engineering skills in order to perform certain modification onto the vehicle. Sure the system needs a bit of a condensing by making tires switchable between all cars by the tires size instead of them only being for sedans, SUV, heavy duty ect. same with breaks and what not, go read Enigmas posts above for a better understanding of what i mean. anyways I think its a good thing that they are fleshing this build out, pretty sure many people would be pretty disappointing if they just had crapped out a bunch of cars with nothing to do with them except drive and carry crap. More realistic is the perfect way to go, not over the top realistic, but what they've added so far is great, just needs a little tweeking with the car sub-types. And personally I want moar, like having to actually change oil, maybe have your engine lock up in winter and you'll need to grab a can of starter fluid or something, serpentine belt shreds up due to crappy alternator. Lastly, on a note of NPC's it would be best and less work for them if they hold off NPC's till the very LAST thing they do. the NPC's are going to have to interact with everything in there game environment, it would be a pain in the ass to say make NPC's now, then the go and add in something new and will have to go back into the NPC code and rig it up so they can interact with whatever new thing it may be. Anyways looking forward to build 24 guys! hope to see it soon!
  2. after reading enigmas post, this had me thinking that it would be cool to see mechanics being able to take out an engine and being able to open a separate UI (like the health/car mechanic menu) that would be specifically for the engine, you could change spark plugs, belts, alternator etc. I know from my own experience Ive had to change quite a few serpentine belts due to my alternator being crappy and it would chew the belts apart. It would also be cool to see the cars mileage and maybe have to change to oil out after a few thousand miles, or there could be an old oil change sticker left in the window/glove-box for code convenience that showed the last oil change and what the next mileage is when the next change is due. One last thing before I get to the bug a found, I think would be good to add is to be able to commonly find a jack in the trunks of cars, every car comes with one in the trunk along with the spare doughnut tire in the back so I think it would be a nice addition to be able to find them easily in trunks along with a crappy doughnut tire you get a blowout. Also my old 92 Camry had a first aid kit come with the car in the trunk, so maybe it would be cool to add a new smaller first aid kit you could find in trunks as well! car first aid kits were usually a rounded black square with red text saying "first aid" and would be zip up on the edges, they only had things like tweezers, bandages and topical neosporine like ointment (which id love to see more medical items added in one day ;P) BUG REPORT: Anyways that aside Ive ran into a new bug after playing for awhile last night. I was driving up from the country club going towards riverside and while I was driving the game just closed out completely. So I reopened the game and continued to be left where I last was on the road but with no car (probably due to the cars re-spawning ever time we quite out to the menu/close the game. ) So I go back to the country club and drop some crap off after grabbing a new car at those warehouses in between riverside/the club and started to drive back to riverside, then I get past the section the game closed out before while driving. then once again, the game closed out. not sure what could be causing this, but I just wanted to let you all know.
  3. Been playing around with this new build (23) and I gotta say its working sooo much smoother than awhile back. I couldn't even drive a car let alone even walk to one my lag/stuttering was so bad, I'm getting some slow downs here and there but nothing unplayable, I'm very happy . Now I do have some bugs to note down. My characters currently held up in the riverside country club (PS great job on the place Mash! I love it) but I noticed that the cars in lots and other areas where cars spawn keep respawning every time I quit the game and continue a bit later. I had a taxi I used to drive to the country club dissapear because I parked it in the parking lot. Another thing I'm finding very unrealistic is that I had tossed a full backpack into the bed of my truck just to have it fall out repeatedly every 50 feet or so on a straight away. The trunk is in 100%. I can understand the backpack sliding around a lot in the bed but not just flying out. I drive my grandfathers truck IRl and we keep a toolbox and an empty gas can back there and yeah they slide around but theyve never fallen out ever. I can understand if the truck bed's door was left open or removed that stuff would fall out just from accelerating lol but in game its kinda making me not even want to use trunks. Even the taxi trunk I used had stuff fall out of it when the trunk was at 80% which was weird. I can understand hitting a bump and having stuff fallout if the trunk was smashed in from another car, or the trunk was left open. I just think the trunks system needs a good adjustment is all ;p . One other thing about trunks is I think on the hatchbacks, SUV and the UPS styled box vans should have a bigger storage space. Especially the big box vans should have more than the truck does, but at the cost of gas mileage the more you fill it to capacity. And if someone were to ram into the back of it those two doors would be flopping around everywhere having your cargo spill out. I also noticed on the 2 seater compact car you can only get into the passenger seat and cannot switch into the drivers seat nor go through the drivers side door. The last thing I noticed was that after quoting and the continuing aside from cars respawning some of the food items i put in my freezer and fridge dissapeared and respawned other items. That's all from me for now, keep up the great work guys and I'm looking forward to the next update Edit: I totally forgot thus bug, but the cars sound effects for the past builds I've tested since like 15, the sounds are all glitchy and totally bugged out, its hard to discribe but its like they only play a short 1 second clip of sound and it repeats that same 1 second over and over till it hits a different 1 second clip. Its really messed up on my end lol. But other than that the cars are driving fine for me aside from the trunk issues.

I am using the all in one map mod so im looking to make sure the downloaded map called "California" Is or Isn't overlapping the new area, could someone circle on a pic of the game map or send me a link from PZ-Map-Crash on where RiverSide is located? Id really appreciate it!

So The stuttering lag i was receiving has died down a bit when i select the 64x launcher, This is also with no mods added, now the more mods i add the slow motion like lag returns even though these mods shouldent effect the game play since they arnt major overhaul just small things such as the pump power mod, or extra traits. luckily Hydrocraft (when selected as the only mod added) cause no additional lag. But i did have issues while trying to run the all in one map pack (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=953754828) It' seems to get stuck loading a new game. Also just so you know i do not used the survivors mod, most of my mods are small things other than Hydrocraft, The all in one map pack, and more building. The more mods i add it gets slower (which is expected but on the regular IWBUMS i have no lag problems with all mods added, only on the vehicle branch) While driving cars there engine audio sounds like a total mess, very choppy and scrambled sounding, and driving the car itself seems very laggy. My hardwear specs are as follows. Graphics card : Nividia 840M With 2Gig VRAM, Intel Core i7 - 4510U 2.00GHz with turbo boost to 3.0GHz, 16Gig DDR RAM, HDD 1TB, and my CPU is a laptop. I hope you guys solve the lag issues, its running better than the last vehicle build though, but im still hitting that slow motion lag, just not the actual stopping every 2 seconds which is good.

I'm honestly blown away at your custom textures they look great! you should join us on the Hydrocraft Art page under the help section of item mods, we could use some help with 2x sized object art :D. really looking forward to seeing this map released! i hope that it'll be connected to the main map too

  9. oh god hahaha i wasn't meaning all that, maybe mad max was too far of of what i was implying lmao. i mean small thinks like welding a metal bar to increase bumper damage, maybe putting knives in the grill thinkgs like that, I should have put down "REALISTIC modifications ;P "

I had the same issues when i used to use my old computer which had an intel 4600. however now im currently using a laptop that has 16 gigs of ram, a terabyte of HD space and a Nvidia GEforce 840m which has its own 2gigs of dedicated Vram, i don't think my cpu should be having these issues ya know haha. but its happening on ALL branches, not just here on the driving branch, however its much worse on the driving branch. on stable if i even thing about going somewhere where there is more than 75 zeds on the screen the game pulls that 2 seconds fine, 2 seconds frozen, repeat crap. especially if I try playing opening hours, that ones literally unplayable haha, I've been having these problems for awhile now, its really starting to bug me cause i love this game i have over 2100 hours on it and i really want to enjoy vehicles or even play stable and go to the mall or another high infested area, but i cant with this weird choppy lag. i just hope i can figure out what it is and fix it lol.

Id love to see them add in car parts like belts, tire pump, jack, spare tire, batteries and various other thing of the sort into the game. thing about it, you're driving along when suddenly you hit a zed with your car driving at 75mph when the zeds bones shatter it pops your tire, you'd have to go out to the trunk and pull out a spare or even one of those 50 mile doughnut tires and change it. or maybe prolonged use of a car, maybe you'll shred a serpentine belt, or burn out a headlight (which would suuuuck at night driving with no headlights!). They could even add in damage effects to the car, like after hitting so many zeds the front fender starts hanging on one of the sides and scrapes the ground causing even MORE zombies to follow you untill you A: properly fix it (which i have an idea about fixing cars aswell) or B: duct tape that bumper! Now with the ability to fix cars this would be a PERFECT way to introduce the car still, it would inclued, Car Handling, & Car Maintenance. Handing would mean the higher you level it the better your driving gets, tighter quicker turns, breaking faster ect. and car maitnence would determine how well you can fix a car and what you can and cant fix on it! like a novice will probably not know how to crang out a belt without reading a magazine first to learn how once he or she hits level 2 car maintenance, and the lower you car maintenance skill is you only know crappy 'quick' fixes for things, dunno how to change that whole broken headlight from hitting all those zeds back there? shove a flashlight in there and duct tape it! muffler is dragging the ground? use a coat hanger and wire it back up! window it stuck down? tape a tarp to it! but the better your skill it... headlight still broken? find a replacement at a auto-shop or take one off another car and use a screwdriver and put one in, the mufflers dragging again since the coat hanger (or the Wire item) broke? well you can weld it now (4 car maintenance and maybe2 or 3 metalworking?). windows still stuck, use a screwdriver and some electrical components or just disassemble one from another car and replace it properly or even weld it sealed with a metal sheet. which brings me to the last car skill.. Car modification! this would go hand in hand with metalworking, electrical, engineering, and car maintenance (as same with car maintenance being apart of those other skills as well except car modification). this skill will bring the realistic side of mad max to zomboid! weld some metal sheets to the car windows with small slits in it to still see, or even the welding rods! you could do the same with the back window and windshield as well, take out back seats to increase storage space, attach barbwire to front and back bumper and weld metal rods/knives to the front grill, and even engine mods to increase gas mileage, speed, shifting, and of course regular car mods found in garages or on other cars like a spoiler, or a different muffler change headlight colors with the colored bulbs ect. the addition of cars could add all these amazing opportunities into the game as long as we keep them realistic! i think my idea would work great in zomboid and give it that customization feel especially in multiplayer which seeing other peoples cars would be awesome. even maybe add in paint for the cars too which the paint cans haha, maybe have the trucks use diesel fuel? the possibilities are endless, lets just hope the devs see this post and conciser mine and our ideas ;D

Just wondering but did you guys darken all the colors in the game? haha i feel like the reds on items are darker and more vibrant in hue, it might just be me though lol. still getting the strange slow motion lag though, then sometimes it stopes every 2 seconds for 1 second, it makes it virtually unplayable for me unfortunately , I even tried with no mods, and still have the same lag issues. I thought it may have been because of large amounts of zombies since in ALL branches that every 2 second freeze thing happens to me whether its on stable, or IWBUMS, or even vehicle (its much worse on vehicle fyi, started lagging like that + weird slowmo right when i start a game). now the slowmo happens for only like 2 to 3 seconds then stops then does it again a few seconds later. hope this extra info helps a bit more explaining my issue.
  13. yeah im getting the same walking animation issue as well, also while stuck in the walking animation it seems you cant take things out of crates/other inventories, the sound effect for looting it plays but the item does not move into inventory. I am however testing this with mods so I'm not sure if that would have any effect on it. I'm also having this freezing issue stated above as well, its usually when i zoom out, or move around it will go into slowmo for a sec, or just freezes for one second unfreeze, re freeze ect. I actually get this same issue while attempting to play opening hours also, or if i go into an area with a high amount of zeds. my cpu should be able to handle this, i can play many full 3d games like 7 days to die fine with no lag, I'm not sure whats causing this since I've even compressed textures, got rid of all 3d models for player, zeds, and corpses, and still have this issue. any help with the lag would be greatly appreciated! this lag also doesn't just happen on the vehicle test branch, it also happens in IWBUMS and the stable branch anyone what could be causing this or how i can help prevent such lag on all branches?
  14. Brand new alcohol and alcohol craft! Were making crappy closet hooch! this new type of poor people alcohol can still be very strong depending on how long it ferments, and its easy to do! I figure this would be the number one way people would be making alcohol in a zombie apocalypses and we'd be silly not to add it. This will be using all the different types of juice we have in the game, Ive made all variations and art for the following types and uses a new glasswear item, the gallon jug! Empty Gallon Jug Gallon jug corked, full of water --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So let me walk you through how to craft this closet hooch. First you need any juice type, this also can include the juice boxes! however if you plan on using juice boxes you need to use 10 of them! then we can use this handy new item, the sugar packet! you need to use 5 of them, or 5 sugar cubes or a bit out of the sugar box ect. next up we need to add some yeast into it! now we put a cork with hole in the top and cover with a balloon, this insures the bottle is sealed from foreign germs but still can breath out the gasses from fermentation! then its the easy part, let it sit for awhile! ??????? PROFIT! Once its done fermenting next you'll need to filter it using a coffee filter and placed into bottles (you can just use the regular art for the different bottles of juice! so no need for new art on those Im thinking 5 bottles per jug so the distillery is still higher tier and produces fine liquor and more of it! this is just for cheap'O juice liquor lol. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- now here is all the new art for the jugs and the sugar packet! Sugar Packet (modified version of currents salt and pepper packets) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jugs Pink Lemon-aid Wine: (use boxes of pink lemon-aid) Wild Berry Wine: Watermelon Wine: Strawberry Wine: Cherry Wine: ( can use cherry juice boxes) Tomato Wine (yes this is real i checked lmao) Orange Wine: Mead: Apple Cider (can use apple juice boxes) Lemon Wine (lemon juice or lemon aid juice boxes) Pineapple Wine: Lime Wine: Blue Raspberry Wine (use boxes of blue raspberry juice) Blueberry Wine Blackberry Wine Plain Wine (can use the grape juice boxes) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's all of them, I thought this would be a great way to use all our different juices and create cheap low proof alcohol which I'm sure people on servers would love to make for bars and trading This way of making alcohol is actually more popular than one would think too, however this way does not yield as much alcohol as using the distillery will. Hope you like the idea and I really hope to see this in a future update! EDIT: WHOOPS almost forgot! heres the new replacement art for the apple cider you find in stores! EDIT 2: Another thing i totally forgot was while i was going through the unpacked art in PZ i found art for an empty paint bucket which isn't the art that's in HC, so i thought id post it so you can replace the old empty paint bucket art with this one since its from the actual game.

I"m pretty sure they are adding the smithing aspect into the game, ive seen all the artwork thats in the games code and there is home made smithing forges, and anvils, also in the scripts theres recipes for melting down metal into workable iron ( which is called "Iron ingot" in the scripts and you can make nails, pots, ect. So don't worry it is coming. Ive even seen the magizines that teach you smithing recipies (not in the game just in the coding, although they could be in-game for all i know).

  22. Thanks! And yeah I agree, it totally would! I really hope this gets added into the game, Just imagine sitting in your house and seeing like 60+ zeds chomping on corpses out front your house all because you forgot to clean up, haha i would try to be as quite as possible lol.
  23. Hey guys, I believe this may have been posted before, but I'm not 100% sure. Anyways I've been thinking with the new animations coming out maybe this would be a good time to implement zombies being attracted to dead bodies! With the new animations the zombies could seek the dead bodies out and start kneeling around them and feeding off them leaving behind maybe guts, blood stains, bones, and ripped pieces of clothing perhaps. This would defiantly make a new hazard of having to move your dead and burning them to avoid attracting zombies to your base (as I'm sure if your like me that's where most of your bodies will be piling up :P). might be a start of other new mechanics such as needing the latex gloves to wear while moving the bodies or left overs after the said bodies have been eaten, don't want to move infected bloody organ messes with your bare hands! especially if say you have a scratch or cut on your arms/ hands, this could be a risk for infection, either zombie infection of just a regular one. Personally I think this could be a great in game mechanic since it would be a natural way to get rid of the bodies laying around instead of just de-spawning them, and would have the player think twice about where he or she should lead the zombies to kill them to not risk attracting them to there living area. Also you could add in weathering of corpses such as the longer they sit there the more they rot and bloat causing a further range of attracting zombies to the area! Leading to only having a certain time limit of cleaning the corpses, to avoid having 100's of zeds coming to your base. Hope you like the idea guys, and keep up the great work!
