KINGKICKASS1552's Achievements

  1. I've played around with the game some more, and I'll give a quick anecdote before I get to my point, but in short, I have to fully agree with the last commenter, the Red Ryder is insanely overpowered. I usually play sandbox, and I do edit the zombies a bit, but I set mine to have the regular strength and endurance and I found myself mowing down hordes of zed mercilessly with a child's toy. So to set the scene, I was making the ritual West Point quest of going down to the warehouse, getting a sledgehammer there and breaking into the gunshop for loads of guns and ammo that I definitely won't be able to use effectively because of my low aim skill. Not finding one, I ventured north to the mall and miraculously found one in the unlikeliest of places, a crate next to the highway and after making the long trek back, I finally heisted my way into the gun shop. I found a BB gun and I figured I'd use it for shits and giggles and maybe to actually use it as it was intended, pulling single zombies away from a horde and into an axe. After fully reloading it from ammo made very abundant from the shop, I went from level 2 to 3 of reloading 9 with fast learner 0 just by loading the 650 rd magazine tube, for those unfamiliar, that means that the bullets go direct into the gun ready to fire, and obviously traditional magazines are a bit more of an inconvenience, as they need to be loaded themselves and then put in the gun, but they can help a lot in terms of balancing the gun. I left the store weighing several tons in bullets and guns, as I rounded the corner, I saw 4 zombies, 3 standing around looking incredibly stoned, all staring at each other swaying, and the last one really jamming out, probably to some Pink Floyd based on his 3 stoned friends, and headbanging on the barred windows of the store. Figuring this was the perfect time to be a ranger, I pulled out the BB gun and took 3 shots, the 3 zed standing around died instantly, at aim level of only 2. The fourth one began to charge me, I stepped back, mashed my mouse button, unleashed about 15 shots, hit and stunned it, stepped back again and spammed my mouse some more and it died insanely quickly. I found myself in hysterics at how I could down zed so quickly and easily with a child's toy and ran into town, Red Ryder BB gun ablazing, before I got back to the police station, I effortlessly deaded at least 80 zed, all in complete silence. Upon returning to my base, I found that after expending some 130 bbs, I only went through about 15 percent condition, so it was all fixed up immediately and easily. So a quick summation on why it could really use a nerf; it can hold an absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary amount of ammo, even if it is the real world ammo count, it miraculously deads zombies in 1-2 shots despite only apparently doing 2 damage per shot and it has a rate of fire that allows the shooter to put up a literal metal wall of gunfire that would put an MG-42 to utter shame. I would go so far as to say that it upsets the core concept of firearms in Zomboid; 'effective, but with dire consequences.' Guns in this game, especially the ones in this mod are very well done in that, yes they are supposed to be very effective and last resort weapons that will allow you to cling on to your precious life for a little longer before the huge horde drawn in by the sound of the gunfire needs to be dealt with. The Red Ryder bypasses this comeuppance by having a very quiet sound, but the issue is that it's just as effective, if not more so than standard guns. As if being highly accurate, deadly and having a blistering rate of fire wasn't bad enough, IT HOLDS 650 ROUNDS. It takes 3 BB cans to make ONE load and can be done freely and very quickly without any period where the gun cannot be fired because of the magazine tube. So you can spit lead walls, not have to deal with huge hungry hordes coming after gunshot sounds and can do so AT ALL TIMES so long as you have the ammo. But the real issue is that it does not do what it was intended to do. It was intended to pull single zombies away from a horde so that a player could deal with them one at a time and make an area more safely accessible, rather than run in and hope you don't die. Instead, the gun does something like what makes people complain about McCree in that it takes on successfully what it definitely should not be able to. Instead of being the weakest gun, it actually comes out to be the nearly strongest gun and can violate the spirit of the game in that the wielder becomes an invincible little boy cowboy with a fire rate to mirror Munden that downs zed, WITH ZERO CONSEQUENCE, like Charlie Sheen downs pills. Nerf this before someone shoots their eye out, please.
  2. Sorry about that, my computer decided to develop sentience and post that while I was in the middle of writing it, and it powered off by itself when I tried to correct it. It was intended to be much larger, but I'm going to have to take this machine in for repairs before it starts a robot uprising. Also it's pretty damaged, so it's probably going to be a while before I can actually write up what the full suggestion was supposed to be. Sorry for taking up the space, I'll write the rest of it up in notepad when I can and copy paste it in when I'm done to make sure that doesn't happen again.
  3. The real reason I keep suggesting guns is because I'm clearly hoplophilic. Also I'm bored and the tournament tonight was canceled. I've found a decent group of law enforcement pistols from the people at Kriss, more specifically their newest models of the SDP line. SDP .45 - This gun, while appearing to be a subgun, is classified by the ATF as a pistol, more importantly, it weighs 5.9 lbs, fires in auto and semi, 1,200 RPM. The internals are based on the Vector SMG, the only difference really is the exclusion of the stock and the compatibility with glock magazines, something all these pistols share. Very clearly, this one in particular is chambered for .45 ACP, has complete compatibility with G21 mags, and comes with its own 25 round magazine, which of course can be loaded into a G21. The saving grace of these guns is that they are all law enforcement pistols, so it will take a while to find before you can load extended magazines into your glocks. SDP Gen II - Much like the one above, and very much so statistically alike, weighs 5.9 lbs, 1,200 RPM and semi, no stock. Only difference from the gun above is that it is chambered in 9x19, so instead of full G21
  4. I found some guns here to fill in some gaps and give more diversity to guns with more rare ammo types. But before the useful ones, here's some I thought would be cool to have in the game. Korth Super Sport - This Gerry made .357 Mag is one of the ultimate 'tacticool' revolvers out there, and she's fresh off the line to boot. The main feature of the weapon as handguns magazine put it 'has more rails than a subway', and true to their word, it has 4 rails, one for each side of the 6 inch barrel. Holds 6 rounds, designed for .357, so you can load it up with .38's too, and it's true that you can load one chambered for .38's with .357's, but those bullets will tear that gun apart. Just saying, because the more things I can put into a gun, the happier I am. Anyway, she weighs 3.64 lbs, DA and SA, comfort grip and lightweight hammer, and to top it all off, it's a competition revolver, hence the 'Sport' designation. This is a really expensive piece going on sale for 4 to 5 grand, so this is not a common gun, but it's a new one so it's not rare as say a Webley. Now taking a look at a 'clean' ORGM revolver script, I noticed that all the revolvers share the same accuracy and fire rate 9 and when I say 'accuracy' that's base hit chance 45 and max range 15 0 So whether or not you really want/need any data on that for revolvers, honestly, I don't think that I would have the patience to give EVERY gun it's own range/hitchance stat, that's unreasonable. But I'll get digging on request if you need some data. Origin - Where EA disgraced the name, the boys at Fostech Arms restored honor to it. This Machina-reminiscent 12 gauge boasts a multitude of magazine options from 5, 8, 10, 20 and 30 round capacities and a weight of 9.1 lbs. The defining characteristic of the gun is that it is designed to be operated without having to remove the operator's hand from the pistol grip, always being at the ready. She's a semi auto, gas operated shotty, mainstream marketing has begun recently and it has been met with much acclaim for its ease of use and its uncanny accuracy when loaded with slug rounds. Now again, I took a look at the scripts and it seems that all the shotguns are locked at a swingtime of 2, so I'm conflicted as to whether or not providing fire rate is necessary, but it is a semi auto, so it would vary wildly anyway, there is no consistent numerical value I can offer. The reason I'm suggesting this is really because it has the same appearance of TF2's Machina, but in shotgun form. T2 MK5 Carbine - A contender for Australia's rifle trials, this full auto 5.56 9 and by extension .223 0 carbine takes STANAG's and fires at a rate of 700 rounds per minute with a weight of 7.5 lbs. As for history, this was used in Aussie rifle trials but was beat out by the AUG, now rarity is a clear concern, with only about 2,000 making their way into these United States, so add it or don't at your discretion. Here's another family of pistols, and very unique and convenient ones at that. MPA57DMG - Take any given machine pistol and combine it with a Five-Seven; that's this gun. Full/Semi auto with complete compatibility with Five-Seven magazines, of course being chambered in 5.7 x 28mm, which is fantastic being that it's hard to come by other weapons with that round. Weighs 2.6 lbs with a fire rate of 600 rpm, and nearly as accurate as the P90, but as it is not necessarily designed to be fired with both hands, so trade off some accuracy and magazine capacity for considerably lighter weight. MPA930DMG - Similar to the 57DMG, this gun shares the same basic design but is only semi auto, and instead of the incredible 5.7x28mm compatibility, it has the same with glocks. It will take any 9mm glock style magazine, and because they are so mechanically similar, shot side by side with the MPA57DMG, they have identical range and accuracy, but this gun is slightly heavier, at 2.85 lbs. MPA30DMG - A larger framed version of the 930DMG, this gun is chambered for .40 SW, and will take any glock magazines that load that ammunition, again being just about the same mechanically as the 930, it has the same range and accuracy as that machine, but of course it is heftier, at 3.6 lbs. I really like any design that breaks the tired, bland 'metagame' that all the standard gun designs are heading towards which is why I'm suggesting these guns and other visually distinct weapons, and on top of that some of these actually work out pretty nice towards what the mod could use, in this case, more 5.7x28mm's and .40SW's. Hellcat - A pocket pistol perfectly designed with a name that screams 'LOOK AT HOW EDGY I AM' this piece only weighs .6 lbs and takes a 6 round .380 ACP magazine. It has been hailed for its incredible durability and great concealed carry capabilities. Semi auto, doesn't necessarily have superb accuracy, as expected. Figure another .380 would be useful to have, not a terrible gun either. A predecessor of the same name was discontinued, and this is the newest model being reintroduced to the market, to remove any confusion about the availability of the weapon. Winchester Model 100 - Not to be confused with the Winchester Model 101, this semi auto hunting rifle was very popular when it was produced and is quite common today with over 260,000 manufactured before it was discontinued due to malfunctions. Not to worry though, Winchester issued a recall and offered to repair anyone's free of charge. It has a 5 round magazine and a very simple, durable design, but the kicker is that it is chambered for .243 Winchester, which I noticed was on the list, but there was only one gun to go with it which would be a shame. In addition to being produced in .243 Winchester, it was also produced in the more common .308 with a weight of 7.5 lbs. I think it would be a good addition as a civilian common rifle, and it also makes adding .243 Winchester less redundant. Winchester Model 70 - This gun is thankfully already in the mod so all the stats will be the same as the one already present. However I would like to point out that this gun was originally made for .243 Winchester, so now there will be three guns of that caliber if the Winchester Model 100 is accepted as well. I think that's about it for now, I may have another larger suggestion soon, this was just a quick one.
  5. Alright, so taking some time to read over, I can see I've got a few more guns to replace. But in all honesty I'm pretty glad that not every suggestion made the cut, because that shows that there's challenge to get these implemented and care for quality of the mod. And they're over concerns that I had too about them 9 mainly the Villar Perosa, I did think that was quite a bit of ammo to be expending in one second, but panic guns 0, but figured they were worth a shot. The only thing I've got to ask is regarding the information, as I do try to do a fair bit of research, but sometimes there are just so few reliable sources. I know it specifies in the front page regarding suggestions for guns but on a few of the guns I was a bit confused why they weren't accepted, and I think the biggest question, especially regarding the guns I suggest is; are you looking for production numbers and years produced/ I am now accepting rarer police and military guns as well, though try to not give me suggestions for rare or obscure calibers (as I do not want to overload on ammo types) 9 Can other ammo types still be suggested, or were the inclusion of the Webley's and the .41LC's an accommodation for the number of guns in those types/ 0 Give me a reason on why you think the gun should be included (following the parameters above) Provide as much info as possible (weight, clip size, caliber etc.), the more info you provide the more likely/faster it will be included. Because regarding the M317 Kit and Arm Pistol 9 and I'll accept that the Arm Pistol is probably too rare because it most likely is 0 but the only things I saw missing from both suggestions were production numbers. Other than that, there was missing range data in the Kit, but given that it has better sights it would have higher accuracy than other revolvers with range to match. And the other missing from the Arm Pistol was the rounds per minute. So if I can get the range data and production numbers for the Kit could it be reconsidered/ And I do understand that the Arm Pistol is probably just too rare to include, I'll find a different gun to suggest along with an equally cool, yet more sound and easier to implement gun for the Axe Pistol. So if that's what needs to be found, production numbers and range data, I'll make sure to include those in my next suggestions. And I really don't mean to sound whiny or like I'm twisting your arm on these suggestions, but if I do inadvertently come off as such, I apologize. 9 Really, I cannot stand to considered a bleeder, I'm an accommodating person 0 Finally for the explanations for military guns from other nations, having read Tom H. Keith's book on his experiences as a Navy SEAL in Vietnam, he states that he was allowed to bring back guns 9 An SKS, an AK and an M1 carbine, funny enough he refused to take home his M-16 because he thought it performed so unbelievably poorly. 0 he captured from Viet Cong during his tours of duty 9 1968-1970 9 to the States as 'War trophies'. This, along with the number of WWII weapons making it back home to be sold privately from veterans in the US rather than returned to the military led me to the conclusion that veterans may bring back weapons they personally capture back home to be owned privately by them. In addition to veterans, other means of obtaining these military weapons include veterans who live in the country of manufacture returning home with their favorite service weapons and then either relocating themselves to the United States, or sell them through internet or international gun auctions, such as the Rock Island Gun Auction, where hundreds of thousands of rare and fascinating weapons are sold annually by sellers from all over the world. So that's the reasoning for these guns I suggest. And just as a side note, if the LF-57 is not reasonable enough to keep in the mod, there is the Beretta Model 12 which appears and functions somewhat similarly, and although I have developed an attachment to the LF-57, I believe there's a reasonable compromise, in the case that the LF-57 is to be removed, in the Beretta Model 12 9 which was used in Vietnam 0, so if you'd like to interchange the two, I'd be more than willing to provide stats. And once more, I'd like to thank you for your continuing work on the mod as well as the careful suggestion selection process. And as for the ammo duplication glitch, I believe it stems from that the gun being unloaded must first be equipped in the Primary slot before it continues through the process and it does not do that. So if you had it be equipped in the Primary slot and put in a check for the ammo currently in the magazine, and should it stay at the same amount, the check would then remove the necessary number of bullets from the magazine and put the corresponding ammo in the main inventory. 9 like how guns go from bags to the main inventory when switching fire modes 0 then the glitch would be fixed, and though I lack the technical knowledge to correct it, that seems to be the logical error the system makes in the unloading process.
  6. Did I really read all of this?!?! Oh Boy, I need a hobby. I am going to quote you. I want to see what happens. You talking about reading all of that, try researching and writing all that hahahaha, and I'll quote you quoting me
  7. Also I'd like to report that the Mosin Nagant is not the only gun that can be used for the ammo duplication exploit, it can be done with any two guns that use magazines and cannot have ammo loaded any other way. 9 Ex; the AWP will not will work for the glitch because it can be loaded directly into the gun when the magazine is loaded 0 And not only does it continually produce ammo, it also completely refills guns instantly. Okay, I think I've figured it out and I know how to perform the glitch to produce any compatible ammo type, for the sake of not 'ruining the experience' I can disclose the details privately, furthermore I think I understand what causes the glitch and will attempt to fix it myself some time this week. Should my assumptions be correct, I think I can fix it and offer it to you.
  8. While I may be a bit late to say so, I would like to take a very brief moment to say congratulations on the mod spotlight; that's a pretty huge achievement having the developers of the game acknowledge how massive and how much work and dedication you've put forth into the mod, so much so that they would interview you, that's a pretty big honor. On tap today is nothing necessarily crazy, although there has to be some unusual suggestions, otherwise it just plain wouldn't be my suggestion, it'd be like Jimi Hendrix without the distortion sound or drugs. And please, feel free to shoot some of these down if they're too obscure or rare, I completely understand that some of my suggestions are super rare and damn near impossible to find or ammo scarcity or other people just plain wouldn't want them, as far as I'm concerned these are just suggestions to add, not obligations, also I'm gonna try to get Webley's and add another new ammo type in this one. Now what I'm set on doing here is to create a gun suggestion so large it either A; hits some imposed character limit that is not currently known to me, or B; takes up an entire page. My only regret being that it will most likely not be page 69 9 giggity 0. So less talk, more rock, I'll get right into it. Mare's Leg - I'm honestly kicking myself for not thinking this up earlier, it's a gun that's been in nearly every wild west themed shooter, and I'm sure we're all familiar to a degree with it. In essence, it is a sawed down lever action rifle 9 and also sawed down lever action shotguns, but seeing as there's already the option to saw down a Winchester 1887, there's no real point to making a shotgun version, unless you would like to 0 Because 'Mare's Leg' is a broad term, like DW PPC revolvers, I'll refer specifically to the new Chiappa Mare's Legs which are sawed down 1892 lever actions. They are 5.5 lbs, can be chambered in .357 and .44 magnum and both can hold 5 shots plus one in the chamber. The barrel is one foot long, and the stock and frame of the gun are another foot bringing it to a compact package of two feet, one handed fury. I suppose I'd want to see it just because I've been playing a fair amount of old west games, and who can say they don't want to be a badass dead-eye gunslinger of the zombie apocalypse/ REMINGTON 1740 - So remember a while back when I suggested the AF2011A1 9 which I had noticed that and a few other of my suggestions were being discussed 0 shameful pride of no actual work aside, I think you'll like this a bit better. Now I'm all for a double 1911, that's arguably the best pistol to make 2 of and then put in 1 gun. But how about if we took it a step further and did that exact idea with a goddamn shotgun/ now that's a wee bit more fun now, innit/ haha. Now what it is, it's essentially the same thing as the AF2011A1 only done with 2 Remington 870's instead of 1911's. Obviously, this gun is really rare, considering that gunsmiths make these as private, custom orders, or backyard engineers make them after having to contact the ATF; but they do exist and to a number that is reasonable enough 9 and especially in Kentucky, that's definitely where you would find a few of these 0 to be found in the game and the real world, although with plenty of digging. all the stats are inherent of what can be assumed; it's double the weight of an 870, double the capacity although it is done with two separate magazine tubes and one pump, much like the DP12. Either way, you could probably just have both of them function as shotguns with 16 shell tubes instead of 8; Regardless, it'd be a badass weapon, and a hell of a lot of fun to use. Winchester Model 101 - If it wasn't blatantly obvious, I like shotguns, I really, really love them, especially in Zomboid because of their incredible consistent reliability, even at low aiming levels. However, all the same, I feel as though there is such an imbalance between over-under and side-by-side shotguns in this mod; not that it really matters anyway, but Engineer's Law 9 for those unfamiliar with Team Fortress, it is 'Use More Gun.', and that same mettle applies to the above suggestion 0. The Model 101 is much like the Model 21 in that it is a luxury double barrel, is held in high regards for its accuracy and is produced by Winchester. Now for the actual stats, it's 12g weighs 8 lbs and is made of polished Belgian wood with an engraved nickel plated receiver 9 it's a pretty, shiny gun 0. I believe as I said last time for a reason wanting one of these luxury shotguns in the game was that who doesn't want to kill zombies, and be a classy sophisticate while doing so. 'Genteel and certainly not gentle.' Next up I have a few guns from the same general family that are produced in a myriad of calibers, though they might get a bit confusing with all the caliber variants, so put in what you like, or don't if you don't. All of them have polymer grips, but as a 9 lore friendly, and I know lore is not the scope of the mod, that's just gravy at this point 0 production stunt in 1991 by Heckler Koch, some 500 of each of these guns were produced with genuine wooden marksman grips, which would be a really cool rare variant version of these common guns. P7M13 - a HK design, this piece came to be during the M9 trials, it is a gas delayed semi auto system boasting a unique appearance, a weight of 1.9 lbs, a 13 round 9x19 Parabellum magazine, a very simple, very affordable design which is why I propose that it and other variants of the P7 design be civilian commons, because I have so many Beretta 92F's that I have one for every container in the West Point police station armory and adjacent office. 9 really not sure why but it just spawns so much more often than other civilian common pistols, and the magazines spawn like hotcakes sell 0 Now according to the website, it did say this weapon had a problem with durability but that Heckler-Koch provided tool kits to keep it in good repair, so having this weapon degrade slightly faster than other pistols would be a good touch. P7K3 - weighing in at 1.75 lbs, this gun can be chambered in .22LR, .32 ACP and .380 ACP, which covers some ammo types that I had to work to find guns for. This gun sports an 8 round single stack magazine, a semi auto design and a fix to the degradation issue that the former model above had, in addition, the gun can be converted very easily between the calibers with a kit. I know these descriptions are getting to be pretty barebone but what else is there to say, German semi auto, calibers, capacity, weight, think that covers all bases, except fire rate, the P7K3 is a straight blowback rather than gas delay, so take from that what you will. P7M10 - 2.5 lbs, chambered in .40 SW 9 I apologize for my lack of a shift key, all the capitals are just double tapping the caps lock key 0 features a 10 round magazine, semi auto gas delay design, pretty solid weapon likely to be found as personal and home defense weapon, good design, good feel, and an overall unique weapon that I would love to see in the game. Finally a breath of fresh air from the 'handgun metagame' where all the guns look like the same bland, boring design And now here's some cool weapons from the Old Country. Beretta Model 38 - Here's the rare find of the day, nothing super wild though, save that for a little further down the line; This is a weapon that time forgot, made before the war, 1938, this Italian stallion 9x19 Parabellum blowback design is fully automatic, has a 270 yd effective range, weighs in at 9.2 lbs and fires at 600 rounds per minute. Pretty good for something that saw such few years of action. And it comes in two particular variants, same caliber, just different stocks and grips. The 38-2 features a fixed wood stock and frame which very nicely compliments the perforated, recoil compensated barrel; these were originally produced at the beginning of the war before the Italian military had to opt for the 38-3, the cheap, 'cut corners' version. They take box magazines that can hold anywhere from 20 to 40 rounds. The 38-3 features less accuracy, worse durability 9 from cheap parts 0, lighter weight 9 due to its pistol grip/MP-40 esque folding stock 0 But still, very cool looking weapon, and one that can perform as well. FAMARS Rombo - The old adage says 'There's always a bigger fish' and this is living proof. Remember that Chiappa Triple/ Well here's the answer to it; 3 < 4. That's right, a quad barreled shotgun, in a breathtakingly beautiful package 9 go ahead give it a look up 0 While I try not be an advertisement for the guns I suggest, there must be description to convey extremes. A walnut stock with the most intricate engravings and carvings all along the barrel, trigger and frame, but enough swooning. The gun weighs 7.5 lbs, features a unique firing system, which to my understanding, as long as the trigger is pulled, will fire all four barrels one after the other, break action, made in .410 bore 9 and should the time come when it is suggested, 28 gauge 0 Villar Perosa - Now, of course this suggestion is not for the original Villar Perosa which weighed 14 lbs and was meant to be used as a mounted gun; this is for the second iteration of it which weighed at a nicer 9 lbs and was suited for 'walking fire'. For those familiar with the term, that's a dead giveaway that this is a WWI weapon, but what they may not know is that this is the second iteration of the first submachine gun ever made. Now the bullets it shot 9 9mm Glisenti 0 are discontinued, but manufactured by one remaining company from time to time. But that's a shot in the dark, however many historians and collectors have documented and own Perosas converted to 9x19 Parabellum. So of course, this weapon is exceedingly rare, put it in or leave it out at your discretion, rarity is that much affecting the availability. But on the off chance that's not overly discouraging, here's the down low on the weapon; it's a double barrel, dual top mounted magazine with a built in bipod, which were sometimes sawed down as to be used as grips when there was nothing to mount it onto, has an effective range of 2,000 yards. Now if this doesn't sound sketchy, or like a terrible idea, allow me to terrify everyone and save this suggestion from the scrap bin; This, the world's FIRST submachine gun which held mere 25 round magazines FIRED AT A RATE OF 3,000 ROUNDS PER MINUTE. Now you do the math, if it holds 2 25 round magazines at a time, 3000/60 = 50 rounds. In a matter of a single second, both magazines are completely emptied in that time period. Let that sink in next time you're completely surrounded by a dense horde closing in from all directions in the dead of night. 1 second. Beretta M1934 - weighing in at 1.45 lbs this blowback semi automatic, hailed for its extreme durability was mass produced in time for WWII and used accordingly by both the Axis and Allied sides. Its magazine can hold 7 .380 ACP rounds, plus one in the chamber makes a total capacity of 8 rounds. It is an incredibly small pistol making it perfect for quick, run and gun situations for unskilled shooters and a good pocket defense weapon for WWII enthusiasts making it fairly available but not super widespread. Beretta M1951 - 1.9 lbs of short recoil semi automatic 9x19mm Parabellum. Holding a 10 round magazine with sights fixed for 50m this is another perfect example of low skill requiring run and gun shooter. It's another typical common pistol for the average Zomboid survivalist. The reason why I'm suggesting the '34 and the '51 here are just comparing the appearance and performance of them to the HL1 pistol, they are perfect dead ringers for each other, and I think it'd be pretty awesome to take a piece of the Freeman Fury into Zomboid. LF-57 - I managed to find this after accidentally deleting all my work on a previous attempt at a suggestion and am ecstatic that I was able to discover it once more, but enough tangent, here's the skinny on this badass Italian sub. 9 the lead spitter, not delicious kind 0 This pretty mama weighs in at 7 lbs, she spits 9x19 Parabellum at a rate of 500 rpm from a 20 or 40 round magazine. Now here's the kicker because I feel this is quickly becoming the 9x19mm/Italy/Skrub at shooting suggestion. This weapon's sights are fixed in for a mere 25m, so again another skrub shooter, but an interesting gun nonetheless, using a very common ammo type. Okay so now that those parameters have been exhausted from this suggestion, seeing as there were quite a few weapons that met those, and there are infinitely more, I'll stay away from those for the rest of the time. Let's talk about the wonder weapons of the west; revolvers. Colt Double Eagle - 9 not a revolver, but I'm a dick anyway 0 Again, this is another one of the multiple caliber production weapons, but I will not be suggesting the .45 ACP or 9mm variants because there's already the standard M1911 and the Springfield Armory 9mm, and I should also say that the .38 Super variant has already been added under the name of Colt Commander Super 38 but I'd like to throw the 10mm Auto and the .40 SW variants in the ring, because I was able to find the ammo for the guns, but no guns of that took it in my time playing. Weighs 2.6 lbs and has 8 round magazines across the board with an effective range of 50m and a maximum range of 70m. Colt Trooper -Here's another like the above, but it's a double action revolver, infamously known to have a stiff double action trigger pull, 6 cylinder, weighs anywhere from 2.2 to 3.5 lbs from a 4 inch to 8 inch barrel, produced in .22LR, .38 Special, and of course by extension, .357 Magnum and it also came in .22 winmag. This here along with a few other revolvers, which I'll also recommend because revolvers are just fantastic and simple machines were made specifically with the average policeman and highway state trooper in mind, and being produced in the first half half of the 20th century, as was the fashion of the time, it is blued steel with a nice wood grip Colt Thunderer - This here is a historical piece and part of a new ammo type I'd like to bring to the mod, the previously discontinued .41 Long Colt; previously discontinued being that officially, Colt stopped making them but gunsmiths and experienced handloaders everywhere continue to make mints from producing the round 9 with 50 round boxes being valued at around 65 dollars, but real sharks charge the same for half as many. 0 Quick history brief, back in 1877 9 which is the real name of the gun, the Model 1877 but this one and the other two were given nicknames like 'lightning' and 'rainmaker' and this one being 'thunderer' that all stuck on so well, it kind of became the official name for them, and it sounds much more inspired too. 0 Colt wanted to make a gun for everybody, one for the law, one for the robbed shopkeep and even one for those who worked on the opposite side of the law, essentially, they wanted everybody to have a Colt so they could stick it to Winchester and any other company, so they specifically made the .41 Long Colt just for the Thunderer and over the years, it grew and grew and grew. But onto the stats, the meat of any good suggestion, if you will; weighs 2.5 lbs with a 4.5 inch barrel, has a fixed cylinder, is technically a double action, 9 but the double action is known for being completely godawful on this one, even attempting to use it can cause the gun to break down, and also has a reputation for being incredibly difficult to repair, often being called 'gunsmith's favorite' so it's better used single action 0 Now needless to say, .41 is a decently sized round, and considering the time it was manufactured, you can bet safely that it's a subsonic round, in layman's terms big and slow bullet = Big damage. There was no data to be found on accuracy but given that this, like the Peacemaker 9 Colt SAA 0 it has only a front sight, so make of that what you will, and know that trained shooters will work the single action considerably faster than a double action can fire 9 Just look up Bob Munden single action and then compare it to Miculek fastest revolver shooting 0, so if the .41 Long Colt is to be considered, those should definitely represent two big factors, the damage of the round being superior and the fire rate being better for more experienced shooters, with the trade off of the scarcity of the ammo, it's for the big league players in the ballpark, essentially. Fun fact - This was the gun Billy the Kid wore. Colt M1892 - Made for the US Army and Navy of 1892, this double action swing out 6 cylinder .41 Long Colt revolver weighs in at 2.07 lbs comes with a 6 inch barrel on a blued frame. Although it did also come in civilian models which featured nickel plating instead of the authority blue steel. Pretty cool gun, also made in .38 Long Colt, but that caliber can go hide in the cupboard until we need it. Colt M1889 - Theodore Roosevelt once wielded this swinging double action 6 cylinder revolver produced in .41 Long Colt. This gun typically featured the military/police blue steel finish with rubber grips, while the civilian variant featured the blue steel finish with walnut grips. Back to the actual stats, it weighs in, 9 unloaded weight 0 oddly enough at 2.07 lbs much like the 1892 model. Now this gun was a bit of a problem child, being the first revolver Colt produced that spun counter clockwise, they were still working out the kinks, mainly that because the design lacked a center pin and cylinder, the cylinder could actually move out of alignment when firing, which makes for quite an Achille's heel, nonetheless though, it was still a weapon favored by the US Navy for the era. Colt Police - This swinging double action six shooter was produced in 1927 in .22LR, .41 Long Colt and .38 Special 9 and by extension you could put .357 in there, but that's gonna degrade the hell out of it, like loading 5.56 in an .223 chamber, it's too hot and too high of a pressure. 0 with a 6 inch barrel she weighs 2.2 lbs, but if you want to put on a barrel that says that you're not compensating for anything, it'll weigh 1.95 lbs with the 2 inch barrel military model. This weapon truly exploded in popularity when it was produced, Colt then took it one step further by detailing the weapon, giving it that blue finish, checkering the trigger and hand polishing them before shipping them out, which sent the public into even more of a craze over these reliable machines. This gun would cement Colt's dominance over the law enforcement and military market, and it being such a popular weapon, I think it would be one of a more sensible suggestion that is rarely seen of my suggestions. Colt New Service - This double action six shooter was produced in an incredible number of calibers including .45 Colt, .41 Long Colt, .357 Magnum 9 and of course by extension, .38 Special 0 .45 ACP and .455 Webley. Despite explicitly stating that Webley is too rare and won't be accepted, I believe I have some new information to shed some light on the matter and clear the way for the Webley's. There are two companies that make and ship .455 Webley rounds and casings internationally, Fiocchi and Hornady, so the ammunition is not dead. In addition, many handloaders improvise rounds by using .45 Colt casings, .452 bullet molds that don't even need to be jacketed and a good fitting primer, and you're in business, all that needs to be done is make a minor cut in length to the .45 Colt casing, and even then, others use .45 ACP to do the same, it just requires one more cut. So not only are the rounds still sold, you can make your own with with relative ease with a fair amount of elbow grease. The .455 Webley ammunition I would like to suggest are MKII's because MKIII's are a violation of the Hague's and Geneva Conventions for being ersatz hollow points being called 'manstoppers' , not to mention have never been produced since they were more or less internationally banned. Let me say real quickly these bullets are FUCKIN' FAT SLOW THINGS, with a velocity of only 190m/s which needs to be multiplied by about 1.815 to even reach sonic speed, along with the fact that it is nearly a 1/2 inch diameter. Consider the sheer magnitude of the damage that this round can inflict even with the pointed tips of the MKII ammo. It's like that big ol' fat meatball kid from your junior high school who takes 20 minutes to run the mile, all sweaty and Diabetes ridden, but still hilarious and lovable. Now, back to the Colt New Service. Over 356,000 were manufactured during the time it was produced, weight of 2.5 lbs with a 4 inch barrel, you can go about 2.9 with a flashy 6 inch. Like many of these other old timey revolvers in this suggestion, it features a fixed blade front sight with a notched rear sight. Again, with it being made in a veritable oasis of calibers, I think this would be a really good addition to the mod. If the Webley round itself is to be accepted, I believe a few of the guns the bullet was designed for should probably be tossed in too and if that's the case, I'll give some stats here. Webley MKIV - began production in 1899, weighs 2.2 lbs with a 6 inch barrel, holds 6 rounds, double action; front break, a highly sought after classic weapon throughout English history, although not as popular as the MKVI. There are several companies that produce lookalikes and knockoffs 9 some even bearing imitation Webley markings 0 of the weapon chambered for .45 ACP and .38SW. Still a rare weapon in part of the actual rarity of the weapon, and the other contributing factor to the rarity being the ammunition, so it's a rare gun and a rare, albeit possible to reproduce ammo. Still something that would be really cool to have in the game. Webley MKVI - the final iteration of the Webley revolver, began seeing manufacturing in 1915, during the Great War, and would not see a stop until 6 years after it ended, many British officers and even GI's would pick up the new Webley before shipping out just as a personal piece should they lose their issued weapon or find themselves in a tight spot, which is how the Webley came to be one of the most popular handguns in English history. Either way, the stats are as follows; weight is 2.4 lbs, fires up to 30 rounds per minute with a fixed blade-notch sight system, is a double action, so you can definitely spit out more than 30 rounds if you fan the hammer instead of the trigger. Now with all the stats out of the way, that leaves the reason for suggesting, and as I had said in my last suggestion, this is the Bioshock 1 pistol, and being such a huge fan of the series, I would love to see this in the game as much as I love shotguns.... And Jimi Hendrix.... And porn... yeah porn. And on a side note, here's a shot in the dark for that crazy 24 shot mod from Bioshock for it, I understand that's definitely not realistic, and my thing with it is, if you don't, I certainly will, it's just too perfect of an opportunity to pass up. Smith and Wesson Triple Lock - As the Webley became so incredibly popular during WWI, the manufacturers were having an incredibly hard time keeping up with orders. Enter Smith and Wesson, who was contracted by Webley initially to just produce cylinders for them. However, all while producing the cylinders, Smith and Wesson came up with a new design featuring those cylinders, informed Webley, who then told them to go ahead and show them what they had. Smith and Wesson 9 and I'm sorry for no ampersands, I again do not have a shift key 0 then showed them the Triple Lock, and Webley was very satisfied with it and ordered 5,000 and then another 10,000 after the commercial success of the weapon. Of the 15,376 produced, EVERY LAST ONE WAS SOLD. It is considered by many to be 'the finest revolver ever made'. History aside, time for the stats, weight of only 2 lbs with a full 6.5 inch barrel, so if you had a shorter barrel version it could weigh only 1.5 lbs, holds 6 .455 Webley rounds, double action, swinging cylinder. And of course being the largest database of information known to man, the internet had no effective or maximum range to offer for this weapon. Webley-Fosbery Automatic Revolver - This incredibly rare treat of a revolver is absolutely fascinating, almost like a M1911 and a Webley combined. It is a recoil operated design, using the recoil to push the hammer back into the cocked position, break action holding 6 .455 Webley rounds. The cylinder features a tell tale zig zag pattern making this a visually appealing piece as well as functional, weighing in at 2.7 lbs, this revolver while ingenious in design, was really knocked by soldiers of WWI that claimed the recoil operated system would jam much more than other, simpler revolvers. This bad publicity really tarnished sales, with about 10,000 made, many of them remained unsold even into the beginning of WWII. Bottom line for Webleys; they're rare guns with rare ammo, but once you do get your hands on one, you'll be very satisfied with the damage capabilities of it and the accuracy of them, being preferred guns by marksmen of their time such as Walter Winans. Honestly, I'm torn as whether or not I should suggest weapons that have no business being in the US, or any conventional US military and police forces. The only reason why other weapons and automatic weapons made outside the US are suggested is because it is plausible for veterans to bring them back as war trophies, and collectors can also buy them from internet auctions For now, I'll hold off on them, and if anyone 9 and I'm referring to all users of the mod, not just casually addressing the Mountain Man, which is a pretty bad habit, that and referring to myself, which I'm doing right now and will continue to do with incredible frequency 0 has any opinions on whether or not they would want those weapons in the mod, and everyone's opinion matters and ultimately it comes down to the developer of the mod, but getting everyone's input would be a valuable asset. Nonetheless here's a few rifles, and I did try to find more for older calibers like .30-06 and .303 before caving into 5.56 and 7.62. M1941 'Betsy' - Made during the M1 trials, this carbine sports a 10 round rotary magazine which is reloaded using .30-06 clips. It features adjustable sights and a short recoil operating system in a package weighing 9.5 lbs. This rifle is a highly sought after WWII enthusiast's firearm, with about 70,000 produced during the time, it has become a collectable of sorts, and although it was rejected by the US military for not being able to withstand the Herculean torture tests the Garand did, many point out that what it lacks in durability to match the Garand, it does have a higher capacity and notably less recoil. Winchester 1895 - Noted that the Russian variant has already been suggested, but there are so many more ammo types for this gun, it would just be strange to not have it in them. Stats will not be provided other than the other ammo types as the last suggester is assumed to have covered those bases. The gun was also produced in .30-06 and .303 British, both rounds that could probably use some more guns for. Jungle Carbine - The Lee Enfield No. 5 MKI, better known as the 'Jungle Carbine', produced in .303 British, this bolt action rifle is essentially a lightweight version of the Lee Enfield No.4, it saw action through many dense brush environments all over the world by all kinds of militaries. But again with the history, here's the down low, weighs 7 lbs, comes with a flash suppressor built into the gun, has a 10 round magazine which is reloaded with charger clips and can spit out anywhere from 20 to 30 rounds per minute and has an effective range of 500 yards and a maximum range of 800 yards. Bushmaster M17S - This Aussie semi automatic bullpup design fires 5.56 and by extension, .223's and is legal here in the States, because that Assault Weapons Ban is a really annoying thing to get around and put good, reliable weapons in the mod. Weighs 8.2 lbs, and takes STANAG mags, another convenience of the gun; just another rifle that isn't an M16 or an M4, I'd suppose. Bushmaster Arm Pistol - Despite having 'pistol' in the name, officially this is recognized as a short rifle, and I include this only because the production number was never mentioned, so it doesn't feel wrong to say that this was produced in reasonable enough numbers to be found in game. Chambered in 5.56, so it can also fire .223's, weighs 5.25 lbs, and is a fully automatic design. M60 Reising Rifle, M65 Reising - Originally designed as a submachine gun in trials for a bunker sweeper, 9 which as history would show, the Thompson would win that one 0 this semi automatic assault rifle is chambered in .45 ACP using a 20 round magazine, weighs 6.2 lbs and has a maximum firing range of 300 yards. In addition, another model, the M65 was produced in .22LR using the same base design. M50 Reising, - This weapon is the submachine gun mentioned above, and shares the same weight and caliber of the M60 Reising, only difference being the automatic firing system, which operates at 550 rounds per minute. Alright 19 guns to go; That should bring the total up to 50/ I believe; At this point I'm not even going for any limit, I'm going for an update being comprised of only my suggestions. Welcome to the Jungle, more specifically a southeast Asian jungle, the next round of guns are all from 'Nam. M42 - This American made 9x19mm Parabellum submachine gun came to be in a shortage of Thompson subs for the Navy during WWII, as such this stepped in to fill the niche of the shorted weapon. It weighs 10 lbs even, fires at a rate of 700 rounds per minute, holds a 25 round magazine and features fixed sights, so a shooter doesn't exactly need to be an expert marksman to hit anything in particular. Swedish K - How does a Swedish weapon find its way to America/ Answer; Vietnam. This 9x19mm Parabellum was designed in 1945 by Swedish inventor Carl Gustav, the weapon is known technically as the M/45, but has come to be known as the Swedish K. It weighs 7.4 lbs, holds 36 rounds in the magazine and fires at a rate of 600 rounds per minute. It features a straight blowback system and has an effective range of 250 meters. 9 And yes, this is the lightning round of suggestions, right to the point. 0 STEN - So taking a look around the suggestions, I saw that for whatever reason the STEN gun wasn't in there, and it just seemed really strange that nobody else had said anything about it, so I'll take care of that. Now most of the guns I suggest have production numbers in between 20,000 and 50,000 but compared to those, the STEN gun is downright common with 4.2 million produced, with more being produced every day; it is still being made. Anyway, she weighs 7.1 lbs, 9x19mm Parabellum, 32 round magazine, 550 rounds per minute sights fixed for 100 meters. Easily available to veterans, historians and collectors, it's fairly common to those types, so why not have it be a little more available 9 but as per usual, not everywhere 0; I keep finding P90's and Vectors anyway. F1 - This, like the other two above is a 'Nam baby so to speak, and this is a really remarkable, interesting design, give it a look up, really cool looking weapon, but let's get right to it. Weighs 8.1 lbs, 9x19mm Parabellum, 620 rpm, 150m effective range, 34 round Sterling magazine, this beaut was used by the Aussie's when those FAL's couldn't cut it tight enough. Sterling L2A3, Sterling L3A4 - This improvement on the STEN gun weighs in at 6 lbs, fires 9x19 Parabellum at a rate of 550 rounds per minute for both models. The split being the L2A3 does not have an internal suppressor while the more advanced L3A4 and all subsequent models sport an internal suppressor. The L2 has an effective range of 220 yards while the L3 has an effective range of 110 yards. So the tradeoff for low noise emission is range, which seems pretty fair. Also, if the weapon seems familiar, that is because this gun was the base for the Star Wars E11 9 Storm Trooper 0 Blaster Rifles. Sterling 7.62 - Produced in the 1950's Cold War era, this 7.62x51mm battle rifle version of the Sterling submachine gun, it features the same weight and fire rate as the subs, was only made with the internal suppressors and took 20 round magazines and 30 round Bren gun magazines. No effective range was provided, but considering that it's a full rifle instead of the sub variant, but still has the suppressor, around 155 yards should do it. HUSH PUPPY - This is not the standard SW Model 39, this is the SW Model 39 MK22 Mod 0, better known as the Hush Puppy. During the Vietnam War, US SOG troops would utilize this dead silent weapon to pick off stragglers and guard dogs without alerting the primary target. Now, the question might be 'how quiet exactly is this/' the answer; the gun had accounted for everything in terms of noise, it featured a suppressor produced onto the gun, and the slide lock was made to come up after every shot, eliminating noise from the cycling, so the only noise produced was the short, suppressed, subsonic thunk from the shot. So if it is going to be included, this may be the only 'fair' gun in Zomboid, because every zombie apparently has the hearing of a pack of elephants and will swarm from Muldraugh to West Point if you so much as fire a single pistol shot. And that's just the base game. Venting about the long term ineffectiveness of firearms aside, the gun weighs 1.9 lbs features a 14 round 9x19mm Parabellum magazine, but was also produced in .40 SW. Now this might be sounding pretty OP, but here's the catch, in exchange for next to no noise at all, remember that the slide lock comes up after every shot, requiring the shooter to extract the spent casing by hand, release the slide lock and then pull the slide all the way back to chamber the next round. According to Tom H Keith, a former Navy SEAL who served during the Vietnam War and used the weapon regularly, stated that regardless of any practicing with the weapon, the fastest interval between shots any of the SEALs could pull off was 4 seconds. That should make it even, and adding a very skill based 9 not literal aiming skill, as in actual player skill 0 weapon mechanic for this gun, having to plan each shot very carefully to successfully utilize the weapon properly without alerting zombies, in addition to making the player have to consider whether or not that moment is the opportune time to fire, the amount of zed in the area and the next movements they should make to avoid them until the next shot is ready to fire. I think this would make a very balanced weapon, hell, might even make TIS proud for having a gun that requires thought to use and is also fair for the player to use. HDM - This gun was around before the Hush Puppy came in to replace during Vietnam, it was used by the OSS, CIA and during the Cold and Gulf Wars. It features and internal suppressor which reportedly reduced sound output by a whopping 20 decibels. It's a semi auto design, less quiet than the Hush Puppy because the slide works normally, fires .22LR from a 10 round magazine and has fixed sights, so it's not necessarily a marksman gun. Okay, for the last 10 guns, I'm just gonna free form it, no theme, just guns. Colt Woodsman - This fairly common semi auto .22LR design was first patented during WWI and production was continued into the late 70's for small game hunting. Its lightweight, compact design 9 1.85 lbs 0 also earned the acclaim of the US military which ordered them during both World Wars. No effective range could be found, but keep in mind this was marketed as a marksman pistol and was used for competition shooting during the early WWII era. Also let it be noted that the Woodsman and the HDM share the same magazine. Brownie - A Mossberg design, this quad barreled pocket pistol was chambered in .22LR, weighs .7 lbs, double action. Obviously, not a super accurate thing, just a little gun. Made way before the COP .357 came out, which raises the idea that maybe this was the inspiration for such a unique gun. Mossberg 464 - Nothing particularly fancy here, just a .22LR lever action, still being produced today, she weighs 5.7 lbs and can hold up to 13 rounds. Barrel is blued steel, like was the fashion of the 1800's, put it in common, put it in rare, can't go wrong either way. Still, lever actions are pretty cool, and it's fairly popular among nostalgia seekers. Governor - Snub nosed SW Z frame design, this multi caliber gun purposed for home defense is a nice little piece. She weighs 1.8 lbs, and can fire .410 bore, .45 ACP and .45 Colt, which makes it a useful little tool, it's a double action and has blade/notch sights, but being manufactured for the purpose of home defense with a snub, it won't have super human accuracy, but it'll get the job done, especially when it's loaded with that .410. Model 52, Model 952 - Weighing in at 2.5 lbs, this SW semi auto design bears a strikingly similar 9 and attractive 0 appearance to the Hush Puppy, but is chambered in .38 Special. It's short recoil and has a surprisingly small 5 round magazine. Another little pistol to decrease the likelihood of getting another Beretta 92F. The Model 952 is an updated variant of the Model 52 chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum featuring a 9 round magazine and a longer barrel for more precise shooting. It weighs 3 lbs and is still being produced today, having been unveiled in 2006. Model 317 Kit - SW double action, 8 round cylinder, double action. Need I say more 9 actually, yes that's next to no information 0 anyway it fires .22LR, has adjustable sights giving it a slight accuracy advantage over a few other revolvers, and weighs an astonishingly low .75 lbs. Sounds like a pretty good deal, light, compact, accurate and quieter than all the screaming high caliber revolvers at the cost of damage. Keep in mind that Kit is just part of the name, it does not actually have anything to do with any kits. R51 - Drawing from John Pederson's design, this 9x19mm Parabellum semi auto pistol has a similar appearance to the Walther PPK but features a unique 'hesitation locked action' developed by John Pederson, who was considered by John Moses Browning as the best firearms designer of his time. It has a weight of 1.4 lbs, a magazine capacity of 7, and has adjustable sights. Remington has plans to release it in .40 SW and .45 ACP but as that has not occurred yet, it cannot be suggested for those calibers. Nylon 66 - Remington took a big gamble which paid off massively with this mostly synthetic gun, being produced from the late 50's to late 80's, many did not trust the synthetic parts and preferred wood frames and metallic parts. However because of the synthetic parts, it was able to be used very reliably in colder and more humid regions which led to its huge commercial success. Anyway, it's a .22LR, weighs 4 lbs, and holds 14 rounds in a magazine tube. And of course, the final gun, one that has to be something so utterly insane, cool and extraordinarily rare. And for the sake of accurately conveying how awesome it is, I won't be analytical or restrain excitement and crass language, profanity will not be watched for this one. CONVERTED AXE GUN - Yes, you may release your orgasms, this gun is exactly what it sounds like . Originally produced in 17th century Germany, as a flintlock handgun design, a firearms company reproduces them in .22LR. To clarify, this is not an axe that has been converted to a gun, this is a gun with an axe built onto it, not a removable bayonet. It is still a single shot design, and accuracy may be a bit off if you're trying to one hand it, on account of the weight of a GODDAMN HATCHET on your gun. While it is only produced in .22LR nowadays, considering what it is, I'd like to argue that if it does get put in; put it in as something like a .500 SW, .50AE or .50 BMG, some absurdly large and damaging caliber considering it only holds one shot and can't be used as a gun effectively in one hand 9 also saying you have a .50 caliber axe sounds a lot cooler than a .22 caliber axe 0. This sexy lil' mama weighs 4 lbs, is somewhat dangerous to reload considering that the break action pushes the axe towards the shooter. Now when it is used as an axe, I think it should degrade much faster considering that the grip is being swung to smash the hatchet at the end of the barrel into something, endangering it of breaking in half, although I do think the gun itself should be pretty durable considering how insanely rare these things are. I think that's pretty much it, the option to use it as an axe is there, although it should degrade faster when used as such because that's a lot of physical abuse on the gun, and because of the rarity it should be a pretty durable build. In conclusion this is the epitome of the 'COME GET SOME, FUCKER' guns. I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message. 9 0 and here's some proof that this thing exists https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword P.S Have fun seeing if this can fit in a quote, and I apologize to the in game model maker, he's got a lot of work ahead of him XD And I understand I'm the ultimate towel boy at this point haha.
  9. Hey, hey, long time no see 9 quite literally for a bit with uneducated dregs like myself who could not figure out that model loader is required to get custom models to show up; and my shift key is also broken, so enjoy seeing 9's and 0's to indicate parenthesis 0 I recently came back to Zomboid, having left because with the way I hastily threw my own 9 ridiculously overpowered attempt at trophy 0 weapons and smashed them into your distribution script, none seemed to spawn. Downloading the newest version and starting the game back up, I was very, very much so pleased with the rates at which the guns and ammo were spawning, it really felt perfectly balanced, they were rare rewards for being a talented combatant of zed, but not so rare that acquisition of guns and ammo became tedious, repetitive and grueling. So really, kudos to you on the distribution, I truly cannot say that it could stand to be improved from this point at all 9 and note that I may be just spewing nothing because I have no idea if you've retweaked the distribution scripts 0 but either way, it felt really rewarding to play and a fun experience overall. Insane, inane ramblings aside, I did have but one grievance with the mod, and it has to do with the conversions with fire modes and multi caliber supporting weapons. Now I understand, even accomplishing the ability to load two different ammo types was an astounding feat, even if done so a bit primal; the point being, it wasn't pretty but it did work, to a degree. The degree being, once you've modded out your badass-oh my god-I finally found it- M16 and fully loaded the magazine with some 5.56 hellfire, you decide to switch it to semi because your aim skill is too low and you can't hit a damn thing and POOF all the ammo in the magazine is gone along with all those mods making your tricked out gun just a run of the mill generic zombie blaster, or it would be if it were loaded, for now it is a very heavy metal block. I'm almost positive you've heard this bug before, but instead of just complain about it 9 boohoo I died blah blah blah 0 I'll offer a fix, whether or not you've tried it or something similar, I wouldn't know. Now I understand what the conversion is; it takes the gun away and replaces it with an entirely new gun with the same model and texture and somewhat different stats, but the obvious problem with that is that all your mods and ammo are gone if you do that. What I'm suggesting is that you 9 or I could attempt, but I've failed every programming course I've taken 0 create a script that checks what gun is being converted, how it is being converted 9 ammo type/fire mode 0, what mods are attached and takes the appropriate actions to prevent loss of those items. EX; with the M16 being switched to semi above, it would check what mods it has and how many rounds are loaded in the magazine, and when the new gun spawns, it would take those mods and ammo count and make sure that it would spawn with those specifications. Or if it just changed from 5.56 to .223, it would spawn the gun and all the attachments in with the magazine loaded with 5.56's in the inventory the gun itself is in. That way a huge problem is finally solved, and I'm aware how little explaining what it should do helps, it would help much more if I could explain how it works, but I just do not have any serious lua experience, nonetheless I'll try if you would like. And don't worry 9 or do, considering it's more work 0, I'll be back around to give you some more suggestions for really weird and cool guns, or at least I think they're cool. I also noted the historical weapon mod in the works, and I think I can give you some really unique ones there as well. And should you ever decide to release a melee specific mod, I can toss around all sorts of bludgeoning tools and pointy things. But I'm sure this mod alone keeps you busy enough, so I'll keep those away for now, I'll end with saying thank you for the fantastic mod, all your work and continuing work on it as well as how receptive to all the suggestions received you've been. EDIT - It was then after spending a combined 90 minutes writing a post that I realized this issue had already been brought up on multiple occasions and the 'fix' I suggested is an incredibly obvious method; I apologize, sorry for wasting time, I'll stick to the gun suggestions, either way I'll do my best to get them here with haste as an apology of sorts for a long winded redundancy
  10. Alright here's the skinny on where I done goofed. For starters, the Dan Wesson PPC .357 is a category of revolvers, not a revolver in and of itself, the typical DW PPC revolver features a large, thick, squared barrel, which is the defining characteristic of the weapons. HOWEVER, this is not truly the barrel, it is a barrel shroud for the purposes of what I would assume are to keep the barrel clean from debris and protect it from outside wear and tear. Secondly (and lastly, I did my research I didn't goof massively), the AF2011A1 cannot fire the barrels independently of each other, a pull of either of the triggers will always fire both barrels as the hammers are conjoined by the spur. So here's my fix proposition: The DW PPC .357 be split into two real world forms (and if you want more of them, I've got more, but I'll keep it limited to two for now), the Dan Wesson Model 12 and its much improved model, the Dan Wesson Model 15-2, both guns being produced in both .357 and .38 Special. Now some might say, "Hey why Dan Wesson over Smith & Wesson?" to which I reply, because S&W only made the Model 12 (and a few other revolvers) in .38 Special, here, there's a choice between .357 and the .38 Special. Now here's where for once, some information could actually be found, the Model 12 weighs at an astonishingly low 1.1 lbs, hence the nickname "Airweight", 6 shot cylinder, fire rate on par with the S&W M10, because the Model 12 is essentially a lightweight M10. And now, for the Model 15-2, the most popular selling revolver from Dan Wesson. The 15-2 is an improvement on the S&W M15, featuring a lighter and more stable, centered barrel shroud and what that means for the 15-2 is that it features better accuracy, lighter weight and more durability over the Smith & Wesson Model 15, which was Dan Wesson's mission; to produce finer quality American revolvers, above all, something that he felt his great-grandfather's company was just not doing. Alright, here's the info: M15-2 weighs in at 1.9 lbs, decent rate of fire, double action, as is the M12, both VERY accurate weapons (in relation to other revolvers, and of revolvers produced by their grandfather company) But here's some interesting finds on Dan Wesson products, and a "rare find" idea: They were sold in "Pistol Pacs", and what that would entail is that the gun and 3 or 4 random, assorted barrels (with shrouds) of varying lengths would be found in the gun case along with the gun. So basically, it's like a "Happy Meal" but instead of delicious beef, cheese and children's toys, there's hot leadspitters and toys fit for a marksman. Now, in no way whatsoever am I suggesting that the DW revolvers ALWAYS be found in a Pistol Pac, that would be overpowered, but more so of a rare find for a rare find. (Just what you're looking for: another pain in the ass thing to code!) Also, I'd like to suggest that the DW's (the guns themselves, put the Pistol Pacs in super rare) go in the civilian rare instead of super rare, because lately and rightfully so, Dan Wesson revolvers have been making a comeback due to their strong following before production ceased. (CZ-America finally decided to do something with that company they bought AFTER 30 YEARS OF LITERALLY NOTHING) Alright so here's the fun part where I throw guns at you and hope they don't discharge (horrible puns aside, here we go) Winchester Model 21 - Double barrel, break action, side-by-side luxury shotgun. All the class, quality and cool sophistication of a tradition European import, made with American ingenuity and superior craftsmanship. Produced in 12 gauge, 20 gauge and .410 bore, this scattergun is absolutely genteel and anything but gentle on zed and (hopefully coming soon) unruly survivors. Now what separates this from other double barrels is that it's more than one type I'm suggesting (and I'm going by the newer Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company types, as Winchester themselves stopped producing the Model 21 in 1960.) The types I'm suggesting are the Standard, weighs in at 9 lbs (but if a single "chimney fire" size log normally weighs 9 lbs, I think that can be reduced, that's excessive, but I'm just gonna list the real world weights of the weapons I'm suggesting, however you want to translate that into the game is entirely up to you), Standard has no engravings, just fine wood, fair accuracy (astonishing when loaded with slugs), and sheer American quality (I'm a jingoist, the good kind though). Then there's the Small Frame, which is exactly what it sounds like, smaller barrels (only takes .410 bore or 28 gauge) and lighter weight stock which comes in at 6 lbs, so less recoil, accuracy and stopping power in a much lighter package, and has those beautiful engravings all along the barrels. Then there's the Royal Exhibition, same as Standard, but has a lighter weight stock resulting in it weighing 8 lbs instead of 9, and is available in all the gauges, 12, 20 and .410 bore and has engravings along the barrel of game birds and doves in full color. And finally, the coup de grace, the Grand American, which could just be identical in stats to the Royal Exhibition, or if sticking to real world accuracy, would be a slight upgrade. the Grand American weighs in at 7 lbs, retains the accuracy of the Standard, has even lighter weight wood than the Royal Exhibition and custom fit recoil pad to reduce kick, and has gold engravings of the American wilderness along the barrels. If it needs to be slimmed down to two just for the sake of time, I'd recommend only going with the Grand American (or Standard) and the Small Frame, if any are to be added. My reasons for suggesting it are for those (such as myself ) with delusions of grandeur, belief in high quality firearms, and perhaps the biggest reason, because I felt that there should be a better balance between foreign weapons and those made in the US, where they are most available. Call it personal preference, patriotism, realism, whatever you like. DP-12 - Double barrel shotgun, American. But before anyone groans about another double barrel suggestion here's the "M.Night Shyamalan" twist: it's pump action. Two barrels, one pump, 7 shot in each magazine tube, plus the ones in the chambers, that's 16 rounds of 12 gauge hellfire. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE: It's a bullpup design, weighs in at 9.2 lbs, has received very high praises for having outstandingly manageable recoil and is purposed for home defense. However something about the bullpup design, short pump travel (for squeezing out rounds at a very high rate) and MILITARY AIRCRAFT (seriously what level of wear and tear are you expecting out of a home defense gun to need this?) grade metals and polymers utilized in the gun design, which is standard, tells me that this isn't exactly the "Shoot them thar' bandits dead" kind of gun. Which is why I'm proposing that it be under civilian super rare, or police/military rare, if it is to be added. Also it's highly reminiscent of the Quake Arena shotgun, which is why I'm suggesting it, as well as it being an American made design. And now for the part where I violate the theme of American only (and common sense/regard for guidelines) Stevens 555 - 12 gauge, over-under double barrel, break action, weighing in at 6 lbs, this is a very common and affordable weapon, fair power and accuracy without breaking the bank is why this is a preferred weapon for home defense as well as shotgun hunting in the suburbs and rural areas alike. Honestly, my sole reasons for suggesting this was to avoid another side-by-side and to give the common civilian section a shotgun without going overboard, it's really a run of the mill double barrel shotgun, which definitely would not be too outlandish for a humble Kentucky town such as West Point or Muldraugh. Charlton Automatic Rifle - Now there's a story behind this, a WWII era New-Zealish "converted" rifle. Facing the realistic possibility of attack from Japan, New Zealand turned to firearm designers Charlton and Field to produce an automatic weapon to ward away a theoretical invasion force, using the bare minimum of available resources. Now New Zealand was very lacking in the necessary materials for producing all new rifles, but they did have a large abundance of Lee-Metford bolt actions rifles, and as such, they (very successfully, I might add) converted these bolt action rifles into full on portable light machine guns. And while it's not exactly a pretty gun (first time I saw it, I could not contain the "What the fuck?"), I found myself enamored with how unique the design was and the ingenuity used to create it. This weapon is presently, highly available in New Zealand, as they were left over from the war, and because this weapon was produced in, and some managed to be obtained by US WWII vets, this weapon is grandfathered in, and therefore, the Assault Weapons Ban would not apply, making the full auto (which is the CAR's only functioning method of fire, as attempting to use semi usually jams the weapon) weapon legal here in the states. And here's the kicker, and maybe what saves this suggestion and makes it viable: it uses Bren LMG magazines, 30 (or 10) rounds of .303 British, so there's the saving grace. 800 RPM, this unlikely machine gun is a true leadspitter, but weighs in at an UNGODLY 16 lbs (if there's anything to reduce the weight of, it would be this bastard assault rifle-machine gun child) AND I would suggest looking up the information from forgottenweapons, if you should like to double check my research, rather than wikipedia, as wikipedia appears to have their facts WAY off on this one. However if that's not quite enough, I'll attempt to guilt you into adding one more positively bizarre weapon using the most childish way possible: "But if X got one, why can't I ?!", in this case I'm referring to the Jackhammer shotgun, (which I was also pretty happy to see added, I'll actually thank you for adding that one), so I'd like to use my "one Genie's wish" (or rather, one favor, on the day of your daughter's wedding) of your mod and abuse your generosity and impose on you to get the Charlton Automatic Rifle added. Maybe someday I'll have a suggestion that isn't downright strange, but until then, this is what I'm bringing to the table. And I have other suggestions for DW revolvers, just tell me if you want them. EDIT - AK Pistol? (Because this exists, and in multiple models, semi auto only) one using the original 7.62x39mm and another using 5.56/2.23 (5.56/2.23 takes AR-15 mags), and if you want to go by the least restrictive gun laws, you can halve the actual capacity from the full 30 to 15 rounds. Hell on the hands, but helluva lot of fun to use, weighs in at 4 lbs, meh accuracy, but hey, it's a thing.
  11. Alright, here's my gun suggestions part 2, after much time and research with few fruits of such labor. Pretty much just unusual weapons, see what you think of them. Compact Off-Duty Police - 4 barrels, 4 shots, .357 and/or .38 Special, pocket pistol. Exotic, deadly, lightweight and using a very common caliber, certainly an interesting weapon to possess, and one that many have not heard of. Derringer-style break action, weight of 1.75 lbs, and it actually works completely in with the canon of the game. To elaborate, the pistol was not popular amongst the operators of the weapon saying that the trigger was too hard to pull, those with less forearm/hand strength claimed it hurt to fire, and therefore many stopped buying it (more power, lower rate of fire, low accuracy, even for a pocket pistol). HOWEVER, production returned (somewhat briefly) in the 1990's, which the game is now set in, 1993 to be precise. But canonical accuracy aside, it's an interesting weapon and one that is often overlooked, and may provide to be a unique addition. AF2011A1 - This weapon is the result of playing God with one of "The Holy Trinity of Firearms" (Mikhail Kalashnikov, Eugene Stoner, and for our purposes now, John Moses Browning)'s greatest creations. This Frankenstein of a weapon produced from an experiment gone horribly RIGHT is taking an American masterpiece of a firearm way ahead of its time and doubling it. Literally. So now here's the big reveal to what this weapon actually is; it is a double barreled M1911A1, bearing the appearance of being two M1911A1's welded together. Utilizing 2 separate magazines sharing a single base plate, triggers and ejection ports, each having a capacity of 8 rounds and being able to hold a whopping 18 rounds when fully loaded, uses the same .45 ACP caliber, but is also produced in the .38 Super, another boon for practicality. Able to fire both barrels with 1 trigger pull or fire them each independently of each other, all the basic attributes that one would assume from the nature of the weapon, 4 lbs instead of 2 , double the maintenance, double the firepower and double the fun. A rigorous torture test revealed however, that the producing company had sacrificed some of the firing comfort (heavier, more straining recoil and squared grip safety leading to cuts and bruises on the shooter's hand) to make this weapon a reality, while still allowing for similar accuracy to a standard M1911. Very different weapon, my reason for suggesting this weapon and the following are basically "America, that's why!" and "If you're telling me that nobody in Kentucky wants/owns one of these, you're insane." Chiappa Triple Threat - Triple barreled shotgun, 12 gauge, 'nuff said. Available (according to their sales site) only to the US, this scattergun boasts 3 18.5" break action barrels and a detachable stock to allow for a pistol grip style rather than shoulder stock without permanent damage to the stock. But with great power (multiplied by 3) comes great responsibility (weight). The official stated weight of the Triple Threat is 8.2 lbs, it is massive. For sake of practicality, maybe have the barrels be shorter and use a lighter weight stock when adding it to the mod, if you should so decide, at the cost of some maximum effective range and power. While I could not find the effective range, (or any legitimately useful information), I can say that they are compatible with all Remington chokes and have an acclaimed "unusually high rate of fire". So it's a weird, but giant leadspitter, definitely not the most common of weapons, purposed for home defense. EDIT - After viewing media on youtube, I can most assuredly confirm that the claims of this weapon having a blistering rate of fire are true, and even then, an understatement, it would absolutely shock anyone to see how quickly this machine can squeeze those 3 shells out. M3A1 "Grease Gun" - I'm not entirely sure if this was an intentioned theme, but I've seen that this mod is including many well received weapons from the WWII era, so why not throw the old "Grease Gun's" hat in the ring? Uses the same .45 ACP caliber as the M1A1, but also produced in 9x19mm Parabellum, 100 yard fixed sights, 30 round magazine, weighing in at a surprising 8 lbs, still a notable weapon, figure it was worth the try to get added. Dan Wesson PPC .357 - Pretty standard double action revolver (or a general category of revolvers), most notable characteristic is the thick, heavy barrel to compensate for recoil, very intimidating in appearance, something that would be some variety to the revolver stereotype without going to the extremes of A. an extremely large caliber/cylinder capacity (20 shot revolver, anyone?) or B. an ornate antique weapon which is highly unlikely to be found in the US, say a Webley MKIV. However, still the Dan Wesson PPC style of revolver is a rare find, even online, so rarity is definitely a factor. Lastly, I have some general suggestions just because time restraints (been writing practically nothing for 2 hours) and the overwhelming amount of them disqualifies almost all chances of finding a suitable specific model. I noticed that side-by-side configurations are in the game, but how about some over-under double barreled shotguns, and maybe that point is moot, because, hell, a 2 shot is a 2 shot is a 2 shot, but hey, why not for those who are incredibly picky with their choice of weaponry. So I'd suppose that's it for this unlikely suggestion, but I did see that idea of black powder was being played with so, here's a (relatively) uninspired pitch for blunderbusses and antique muskets/rifles, not necessarily something I myself would recommend, but just something to put out there.
  12. And just as I was about to make my own bug report... Dang, alright, well here's what I got, and there's a chance that it's not the mod's fault, more likely than not it's mine, so I'd suppose there's no better place to report it than here, as well as ask some questions about the mod. So I was playing through it, just checking to see if the guns I added were spawning, (you know how it goes, no zombies, full endurance, very fast stat regen, all loot types set to very abundant, Lucky, Organized & Strong the whole nine yards), and I was running around for a good 15 minutes through building after building and I could not for the life of me find a gun. After 20 minutes, I had a Ruger Redhawk and a RugSec6, as well as the S&W M500 which I so sloppily added. But that was it, so that's one rare civilian gun, and 2 common (I made the M500 in civilian common by mistake). So I suppose I'm reporting that the gun spawns are too little, they're damn tough to find, that's probably on intention, but that seemed a little off to me that they were so hard to come by, but it's good that they're not handouts though, I hate to complain, but the other guy up top is right, the old gun mods just had them left and right, you could kill a small horde and become a one man army with all the weapons they dropped. However, don't take this report too seriously, because I edited the mod a decent amount and I added guns to the distribution tables, and this is the version before the patch you just put out, which I haven't tested yet, so no worries actually, it wouldn't even matter. So I had some questions regarding the distributions, I understand the categories of the weapons and ammo in terms of rarity, but it's the major body of it that are lost on me, but I won't hold it to you to explain it all, or any of it really. So if I continued to add in guns, how would that affect the distribution, if in any way, and how would adding in table inserts {(table.insert(SuburbsDistributions["all"]["inventorymale"].items, "ORGMmod.blazer")} {(table.insert(SuburbsDistributions["all"]["inventorymale"].items, .05)} affect the other spawns as well, if any. also I have some gun suggestions, but I want to wait until I have quite a bit more before I spam your mod page again. and I have not play tested that yet, but that's the armor from RKF, I updated the code, so if you want that, when I know it's working I could send you the file, if you feel like that would be something you want in your mod.
  13. ALRIGHT! I read all 44 pages of the mod post to make sure that I'm not repeating any suggestions, SO IF YOU WON'T ADD THESE I'LL SCREAM. Of course, I'm being facetious, this is a truly outstanding mod you've made, it is an absolutely remarkable product of much time and effort. It's highly commendable work and a completely changed experience and a new necessity for my project zomboid game. So without further adieu, I'll make my suggestions, not demands, this is your project and you should do as you please with it. S&W M500 - Beautiful weapon, very much so popular, an American icon to the power of firearms and could translate very well into game. Now the concerns about this would be the rare ammo type, .500 S&W Magnum, which violates the understandable exclusion to weapons using obscure ammo. Secondly, the issue with no exclusive caliber guns, which is completely reasonable, it would really irk me as well if there were plenty of 1 gun per caliber weapons too, it would feel like a waste of time coding. But I possible solutions to qualms about it, and they're solutions that I've done myself by editing the mod. 1. Make a unique version of the weapon (A la Fallout 3 & New Vegas) with different stats. Or 2. In lieu of absolute realism (which can be a deal breaker to some people), add in other weapons of its mettle and have them use the same ammo. However if you're a stickler for real world accuracy and non exclusive ammo types, other weapons that use the .500 S&W Magnum round are the Ultimate 500 single action 5 shot revolver, give it a look up (I'm not fully aware of the forum rules on links, especially to sites where potential sales can be made) or the BFR, also a single action 5 shot. S&W M500, which I noticed was mentioned in passing, "stats" are as follows. Weight of 3.5-5 lbs, double action, 5 shot cylinder, effective range of 50m, with a max range of 100m. Devastating recoil, with a round that fires at almost 2x the speed of sound. So basically, the zed and the next 2 guys behind him are dead (hyperbole, to an extent). If you'll excuse my language, the only statement that does it justice, I feel is "This gun is one mean motherf*ck." To conclude, the basis for my argument on the addition of the S&W M500, BFR and Ultimate 500 and .500 S&W Magnum ammo are the sheer popularity of the weapons, both in American media and amongst real world operators, the ungodly power of the cartridge, balanced out by heavy recoil/action restrictions and my assurance that it'll be a real crowd pleaser/sweeper. and of course, as soon as I begin to write suggestions, I completely forget all of them, I've been staring at this proposal for 30 minutes now, and the only thing that I can precisely remember is the M500, but I was going to suggest adding in more .38 revolvers, when it comes back to me, I'll bother everyone some more
