    My newest base out in the forest in multiplayer. It is very unfinished.
     

    First floor with mine and smith stuff. And the many support columns.

    Second Floor with Workshop, Laboratory, Library and Kitchen so far.

    And the roof garden on top!
     
    Overall I am happy with this design so far. Though i may remove the kilns and stuff later. But i think i will leave the mine since it seems cheaty to bring it up a floor.

    You should post these in your own buildings thread dude, so he can come choose what he needs. Also, the Pile-o-Crepe HQ.. seems very odd with beds and a bar, and an empty first floor?

    I like it. If shit hit the fan we'd be living and learning these survival techniques all over again. It's not as if you would HAVE to use it to survive, it's a feature not a necessary skill set you'd rely on as part of the core game if you didn't so choose (based on current game play) 
     
    Hope to see the updated graphic, perhaps it will ease some of the concerns too

    Nah I think Dreaded has it right. With all the added maps and limited players due to a whitelist, it will create a good challenge once supplies dwindle and groups have to branch out farther. If you want it easier there are many servers for that. We need more hard core servers!

    I'd have to echo the chatter about the specialisations here for MP. It would be great to have more of a need for a metal worker when its get implemented, rather than every player being able to be a pro carpenter, medic, metal worker, engineer etc etc. The possibilities to expand the team work element would be great.
     
    For single player though, well I'm sure the designers can think of something.

    UPDATE: Pretty sure I have all the mods working, and the server is whitelisted and ready for Sunday! All we need now are some survivors! PM me your character/build soon, so you don't get left behind!

    With the day length as long as it is, we'll all be dead and resetting before we run out of food or starve. It will also make solo playing much harder and create a real reason to fight other groups, which is the result I'm going for. Don't forget, there will also be a neutral trading zone, which will help as far as materials.

    Hello survivors, wanted to reassure everyone I'm back at work on the new version of Dreadwood.
     
    I know I've posted many progress updates in the past but this project is much bigger in comparison. To be constantly posting screens of the map isn't very productive as everything is constantly changing for the better. On top of that the maps size is now up to 64 cells (8x8 square) and I've plans for every last one of them to ensure each location is interesting and varied.
     
    As for now my focus has been on flushing out all of the many roads and building the larger buildings I have planned. I've done my best to stay up to date on creative mode but I'm still not sure how much of an aid it will be creating all the residential homes I'm hoping it can. By far furnishing buildings is the most time consuming which is why I'd like to get my hands on creative before wasting any more time. 
     
    Otherwise I hope to get this map done and on the steam workshop this summer.
     
    Here's a small mall I've been working on. 
     
     
     
    I've only worked with the vanilla tiles so any advice I give is just speculation. Anyways you'll have to arrange them on sprite sheets, make sure they're in the directories the editors look for the sprites in. Than in BuildingEd enter the Building Tiles screen (double click anything in Tiles and Furniture tab) to add your sprites into the game. I'm positive there's more to it as I've never done it.
     
    Best advice I can give you though it to stay away from attempting any type of elevation. As the engine is for Zomboid it'll only be clunky and awkward. If I remember correctly elevation has been being discussed lately, weather or not it's to be added I cant confirm, but I'd suggest waiting if it is to be.

    Can you make everything spawn a lot less. There are so many guns and ammo online its insane. Everyone has massive store rooms just for the these, and would make it a bit more interesting for them to be more prized items.

    Had some complaints with the model loader breaking compatibility with Redboid. Taking a look, I see with your latest update, 33.20, you're shipping a Lua overwrite.
     
    Any chance this could be removed, possibly to the example mod?
     
    Anyone playing on Redboid will have overwrite only the stuff in the /zombie/ directory, not the /media/ directory.

    Second, that new modding looks great! Would be great to be able to equip helmets, body armour, camo, and all that good stuff!! (even if its only an aesthetic thing)

    So this is becoming a thing again:
     
    I've done quite a bit of modding to the core game to get custom equips working from a Lua implementation / demonstation point of view, as the original functions of this mod do.
     
    Items in script look like:
    item Aviators { DisplayName = Aviators, Icon = Aviators, Equippable = TRUE, EquipLocation = Eyes, ModelEquipped = glasses_aviator,}item Fedora { DisplayName = Fedora, Icon = Fedora, Equippable = TRUE, EquipLocation = Hat, ModelEquipped = hat_fedora,}Equippable toggles the ability to wear and unequip.
    EquipLocation is a String (text) to be able to uniquely equip anywhere on the body, or a specific place for multiple items (which will unequip the other).
    ModelEquipped is a model.txt file that will have a "m_" or "f_" before the name put in the field.
    ModelUnEquipped will possibly be a thing too (shades on forehead or other things maybe who knows).
     
    I'll look into pushing the changes possibly tomorrow, along with an example workshop mod.

    So good news is I now know that my concept for the reloading code will work. The bad news is I still have a ways to go until it is complete and working.
