    Hello!

Highlighting the zeds which are hidden behind a wall, but seen by the character.

The game's all about "being the character", so we should be able to see what the character sees despite the isometric view. For now, if a zed is hidden behind a wall but in the character's FOV, the player can't see the zed until it's really close and gets into the "wall fadeout area". Highlighting them "L4D style" would be great!

About the shotguns, how about a short-stocked variation you could make by sawing off the stock? There would be advantages and drawbacks, for instance they would be lighter and faster to draw / take from a container, but with a loss of accuracy / more recoil.

Actually, seeing the sawn-off shotgun with a long stock made me wanna have the stock shortened, just like in Max Payne ^^

Edit : also, hell yeah, chainsaw would be great? If dismemberment is in, me want chainsaw! OP in CQC but very very noisy, to prevent any abusive use.

It should be noted that the release notes and Mondoid related to this build stated that things wouldn't be perfect outside of car stuff (or even within it).

This is a tech build based solely on cars. So that means that there are plenty of things that aren't up to date when it comes to the base game. The car parts are the parts that will be added to the existing code so I think things will be fine once the car tech issues are worked out

@RobertJohnson, I noticed a layout problem in the options. Might be linked to my screen resolution, but the "toggle run" checkbox and the "NPC interactions" lines are overlapping. (Sorry, no screenshot as when I press "print screen" while in PZ, the computer takes a screenshot... of the desktop O_o )

Yeah, we really need a shared file on google sheets with all the translation strings uploaded so RJ can download recent translations himself and highlight what has been changed.

I guess it's not gonna happen

Why not? After all, this build is clearly the "anims build". They're focusing their effort on building up and finishing everything they can concerning the anims so they can simply "forget them" and go on with the rest when it's time to work on build 36.

I mean, I understand why you'd ask that. But from an organisational perspective, I think that's how they should proceed. Start a thing, build it thoroughly, and leave it so you can entirely focus on a new feature.

I dunno if it's a bug, so I'd rather ask here first before posting in the tracker. Two things :

Spices don't seem to be taken into account into recipes. Tested with mayonnaise: the recipe gives the same amount of calories (or other bonuses/maluses) with or without the addition of mayonnaise. Some items apparently lack their nutritional values. Seen with the nutritionist trait with Remoulade (screenshot)

Sorry to interrupt, I've already posted here about this with no further reactions. I'd like to know if these are known troubles or actual bugs so I know if I should post them in the tracker or not.
With the nutritionist trait, using rice from a rice bag doesn't reduce the nutritional values of the bag (same calories, proteins... as when the bag was full). Is it linked to the fact it comes from a label, or an actual bug because nutritionnists should know the real values? Spices don't seem to be taken into account into recipes. The problem I see is about the starting conditions, be it for zombie population, starting loot, loot abundance... it would be far easier to start in First Week, kill all the zombies in the neighbourhood, pile up supplies and then switch to Survival and think you're doing okay in that difficulty. You wouldn't get a proper Survival experience with such a mid-game difficulty switch. Just a personal feeling though.

Try asking people like ORMtnMan who created mods including 3D models. Even if they aren't always the ones who created those models, they should be able to tell you who did and therefore... How!

Keep in mind that all the default number you'll find when creating a "default" server are the ones from Survival, if it helps you finding which number is which condition.

Now for the blanks, elec/watershut I don't really know. My guess is that these lines correspond to the choice you made for the shutdown period (between 0 and 6 months, within a year, never, etc...) and then the two next lines (modifiers) are the actual number of days before shutdown, randomly generated according to your two previous choices. Now again, this is an uneducated guess so maybe try it out first!

Starterkit states if you spawn with or without a backpack with useful supplies (weapon, food, etc).

Nutrition activates or deactivates the nutrition system (taking into account not only hunger reduction but also carbs, prots and lipids to manage your health and weight).

Thumpnochasing deals with the environmental attacks, setting whether zombies will thump on doors/windows without noticing you or if they only do so when they're looking for you.

That last group of commands is pretty self-explanatory, they're used if you want to set your own zombie population dynamics  and you have many tooltips to help you if you set them in the game itself. I don't know them by heart!

@Marco1 unless you yourself are a game developer, I don't see how you could properly judge that the content is "for sure not 3-years-worth-of-development". If you do have the keys to say so, please share them. If you don't, I'll use your own words: please define "3-years-worth-of-development" in the PZ context. And try not to mix up your personal expectations and what is actually achievable in that time span for a TIS-sized team.

Also, please define "simple" when you say they struggle on "simple" things. I'm curious about that one.

To make things clear, I'm not saying that you can't say development feels slow. I'd say that too, but I can't judge if it's ACTUALLY slow or just on a normal pace given what they've been working on. But your "I know it all, mark my words, I know what I'm talking about" doesn't help taking your allegations into consideration.

They already have access to the majority of the stuff the devs use.

Likewise, these tools are also for the devs and modders alike.

Mods may keep PZ alive after development's done, but they set out to build their own game, not just a sandbox for modders and those impatient with how fast they work . . .

I was going to write about how far Project Zomboid has come since a year or two ago but this thread, it honestly just needs to be closed, people are getting way too upset on both sides. No one can singularly talk for the entirety of the consumer base, not Kim Jong, Not DarkSide, hell I doubt the freaking developers even know what the community wants because of shit threads like these. We say we want one thing, then someone says they want another, then people get mad and it becomes a giant shitfest. As much as we the community think we know whats best, we don't, neither does the developers. Each update is a gamble that will have praise and backlash no matter what they do. They could release full NPC's this moment and people would complain that they didn't add cars first. The Indie Stone are the only ones who know which direction this game is going, and they should be the ones to decide. I'm not saying feedback from the community is BAD, but people really need to chill. I'm all for constructive criticism, but so far i've seen VERY little of that. TIS is a small team, development is slow because of this, there is nothing you can do, get over it, end of story. Now stop posting hateful and spiteful comments.

What Zorak said. I cannot understand how someone can come and complain about missing features in an early access game. THAT'S THE POINT OF THE WHOLE EA THING. PERIOD.

Would the game be released at 1.0 with missing features, yeah, now go ahead and rant, I can understand why. But now, I can't agree more with EG: if the sole purpose of someone's visits here is to comment every Mondoid and say "NPCs? Animations? WAKE UP DEVS!" (the last one being a brand new trend) maybe that person should go play LoL and get even saltier, because at this point it probably means he or she is enjoying it.

Even AAA games take years to develop... With bigger teams! People constantly complaining here should back off and have a look at the whole picture. TIS is not yet another Russian company running away with EA money and delivering a crappy zombie game... And harassing them won't help. Call me fanboy if you wish, but anyone with a bit of sense knows that being shouted at and judged doesn't help in any way, whatever the work is. So why do it here?

Now, back on topic, I can't wait to hear from the supertest! Next Mondoid, I guess.
