  1. you know what? i think you got a point. this would definetively be better, even though i haven't run into this issue myself yet because i can't enjoy pvp as long as the shooting system is so ridicolously broken, but that is a story for another day. i'd really like some insight by some of the devs on how the health damage system is supposed to work when you crash your car into stuff, that would help a lot the discussion, but more or less i think the suggestion is pretty much good the way it is now, i can only imagine how cool would look to start a battle between groups with somebody smashing a wall open with a car. ok, now i'm hyped ;_;
  2. that's a good starting point, but there is no multiple level of damages to pre-made walls at the moment, right now you can either remove the tile entirely or having the wall standing proudly as if it were mocking our player made walls. theoretically i'm all for it, but if we want to suggest it and have some chances that devs consider it, we need a way to make it work in the game without too much of an effort. for example adding different level of damages to pre-made walls looks like something easy, but it would probably require to rework every single wall in game, wich brings us back to the point where this would work as just removing the tile entirely like the sledgehammer does, wich again begs the question: how would it work with different kinds of vehicles?
  3. and how would you make it clear in game wich vehicle can break wich wall? imo people would just assume they're all supposed to break through and complain when that doesn't happen. on the other hand, all the walls in zomboid are actually wooden wall masked as bricks, iirc, that's why fire spreads so easily. but still, i can see a lot of griefing with this implemented. i could just run my car through your defences if there are no real downsides of this other than breaking the vehicle
  4. i don't really get what you mean with the second half of the comment, though what i really meant is not that fans shouldn't voice their enthusiasm, what i meant is that i feel like the main point of the thread in the first place was straight up trolling whoever actually cares for anims and putting pressure on the devs. i might be wrong of course, but i really think we should put all this to rest for good and wait for further news (and i can't wait for some)
  5. that's a good point, but i feel a little different about the guy that is actually doing the work on the anims (wich is the same guy that is working on npcs). the idea i got from a couple of posts (and i can totally be wrong, i don't want to put any word in the mouth of anybody) is that the guy is enthusiastic and gives his best when he himself is hyped about a function that he wants in the game, because he himself loves the idea of being able to use said function when playing, but as far as i could see, he's not really the best when it comes to handling pressure (wich i understand since i suck at that as well), and i think that the indie stones knows already pretty well how much we'd love anims to be out already, i think that anything more than what we already said in the last two years would actually just be adding pressure more than letting them know that we care. on the other hand, it's our right to be hyped and we are still customers, so you can't really tell somebody that is complaining that they are 100% wrong, and i'm not 100% happy myself, so all this considered, my opinion is that this kind of thread hurts both the development and the community of course it is just an opinion and i'm not trying to force anyone into thinking anything, but i wanted to share this thought with you
  6. this whole thread is bad, i feel like we could do without it. i am the first to be hyped af talking about animations, but i can't see how collectively hyping each other could help bearing the wait. it will just make people more anxious, and people will start to either argue or answer sarcastically, wich is already happening. please just stop, it is frustrating but they will come when they will come, and i say so even though i can't take it anymore myself, it's just that this won't help in any way i can imagine.
  7. a game that is supposedly heading for realism, and generally speaking good balanced gameplay quoting the last mondoid: "Firstly, and most importantly, we need to make sure that we’re not introducing a new breed of indestructo-tanks to Project Zomboid. We have to make sure that survival times aren’t hugely extended by cars, and that their use carries as many negatives as positives for the players. Also we need to figure out a good balance between zombie squashing fun and the realism Zomboid tends toward, avoiding the vehicles being too OP and sturdy against groups of zombies, while still providing the satisfaction of mowing down zombies in bigger vehicles." wich pretty much sums up why most if not everything requested by op is probably never going to be added in the game
  8. i got it as well, but it happened to 3 games at the same time, all of them with a 16.1 mb update and all of them forcing me to update microsoft vc redist package... i guess it's something related to steam
  9. or perhaps trains that would be so cool, even though i guess it might get complicated for the devs to make bordable trains that act both as containers/rooms and vehicles. i guess it would be fine with just some broken down trains with loot, or, perhaps trains that act only as a container and a vehicle without having the possibility to move inside it as a passenger
  10. that's precisely whati meant. i must have phrased poorly, sorry. what i meant is that i can't see any balance benefit from forcing everybody to rush to the pumps in the early game. everybody is just too busy looking for nails, hammers, axes, sledges, meds, food, and, generally speaking, surviving, and, besides, i can't see the reason for disabling them in the first place
  11. +1 for pumping from gas pumps after the shutoff, i never liked not being able to in the first place, i can't see the balance in that now and i couldn't see it back then. Just please. Speaking of small things that nobody thinks are unbalanced: please add passing out from lack of sleep, our body is ready
  12. HOLY MOLY i need dis in my life ;__; of course the devs already thought about what i'm about to say, but there's no mention in this mondoid so i'll suggest it anyway: i'd love to have the chance of wounds (even fatal ones) if/when the player crashes against something. this way people will actually end up wounded pretty often and meds will finally have a real usage even in single player. also, any tips on what the other functions in the radial menu might be? i hope there is something about storage capacity. also i guess there is already an option for multiple player to jump in the same car, since the mondoid specifies " when you’re in the driver’s seat. " anyway amazing, we should show some love to easy pickins and the guys from general arcade <3
  13. as far as i'm aware you can pick up a normal chair and move it around, but i can't remember for the life of me how much will it weight. maybe if that's too much you can just mod the weight value of chairs and go for it without creating a new item?
  15. Agreed, but as far as i'm aware the weight system is its own thing based on a mix of actual weight and how cumbersome an item is (don't quote me on that though)
  16. Cool, but why did it stop updating the world? Wouldn't it work like forcing sleep condition? Anyway thanks for the heads up ^^
  17. As the title say, i'd love to see a mod about passing out for lack of sleep, has it been discussed before?
  18. I agree with Zorak, friendly fire will make combat way too frustrating. Why shouldn't we be allowed to charge at an enemy with friends shooting in order to cover us? It's fair to your opponent because they can do the same, or they can get behind good cover and shoot all the melee players down, or else. I dunno, I don't like PvP. All I know is that with this idea in its current state, I'm not allowed to carry a gun on myself with my faction because I'm too scared of accidentaly shooting them in the back, I'll be forced to play with PvP off on a PvP area, and so will my friends. Is there any way to prevent this without breaking any weird logic of "pro PvPing"? I also second Tommystick's question
  19. 318 give us a way to take fuel from the gas pumps after the shutoff. I know this was intentional, forcing people to rush to the pumps, but in sp people just don't bother using generators because there is too much to do in the first weeks, and later on there is so little gas around that it's just not worth it; in mp people just use the loot respawn to "fix" the lack of sources of gas
  20. Mostly, we need cigarettes to give fatigue, they actually reduce your overall fitness IRL, I've been smoking for about ten years and I think that's the most important aspect of the matter. About addiction, as fare as I'm aware, the average is getting free of your addiction after two weeks of non smoking, usually you get rid of both cigarettes and people who smoke around you, but there's no science behind this; Starting the addiction is another story... Everybody's quite different here. I've been casually smoking for over a year before getting addicted, so it was all a matter of psychological addiction, but a lot of friends started in a lot of different ways. Some started immediately, some needed stress to really get addicted, others needed to smoke while doing certain tasks like working or being with friends. The general idea is that if you're feeling very badly (e.g. depression) you'll speed up a lot the process. It would be cool for multiplayer to have a higher chance to get addicted if you smoke near someone who's smoking, but I don't know how feasible that is
  21. Yep, even though that will get way more used with the clothing revamp (I still haven't seen anybody trying this). A game master can spawn a character and let it die by zombie infection with anything he wish in his inventory, I guess it makes sense
