  1. With NPC coming soon(ish), I wonder how it will be implemented. Sorry, if this was already done before but I did a fast search of the forum and found nothing. My fear is that with the current respawn system, where you die and start over with a new charater, you lose your skill but the world stay the same. If everything stay the same with the implementation of NPC, that would lead to this situation: -You spawn in the world, create a group, become their leader, make a base and then you get mauled by a horde of zombie because you thought that shouting in the middle of the city was a good idea. Then you simply respawn with a new character and go back to your group. The group ask no question and start following you around like the old leader. That could work but it kinda break immersion and would feel artificial. I propose/hope that with the implementation of NPC, the way we return to the world is modified also. More precisely, we can chose to respawn as one of the NPC from our group. -I played a lot of survivals games with NPC, the best recent example would be Conan exiles. After a while, having crafter, blacksmith and other NPC became meaningless since 1 of each would be enough or 1 ''special'' NPC once acquired made all the others obsolete. If we can respawn as one of our group member, having redundant NPC would become more useful since you won't lose one precious crafter/NPC and be able to start again with better skills. -You would also be able to start again as a member of the group, it would be less weird for the rest of the group to follow your order since you where already in it, a form of passing of the torch. I believe State of Decay already has this system -You would also have a choice, to start with a basic character or a more advanced one (that take into account that the NPC would be able to level up skills) at the cost of losing 1 member of the group. -It would also repair one of the current flaw, that is that after you die, you always have to pass more time doing nothing but reading books to level up your skills faster. It would not make it disappear but at least people will have to read less. There is certainly flaws in this but I think it would be a good way to implement NPC and a more solid respawn system. What do you think?
  2. After 12 hours into a game, I think I spotted the main problem of the new spawn systeme. The zombies form groups to easily, after a while, whole neighborhood have no zombies in it while other have huge horde wandering through it. It make scavenging extremely hard or too easy. I think the new systeme is solid, but they should lower the probability of zombies to form groups, it make the experience unneven and remove the fear that a lone zombie will crawl up to you and kill you.
  3. I am conflicted about the new respawn systeme, yes it is more challenging but I fell it is a little too much. I am in the suburb of Muldraugh and I keep seeing group of 10 to 11 zombies all around my base. I can't go scavenge more than 2 or 3 house without being pursued by at least 20 zombies. I would be ok with this if it was in the middle of town, but I am near the wood, almost out of town, there should not be this many zombies, at least not at the start of the game.
