TheDreaded1 reacted to Livio Persemprio in Sprinting OP?
Light tweaking? Running as it is of now looks a lot like a placeholder for vehicles, it's bad gameplay wise and it's not realistic either
That said, I feel like discussing the matter is useless until we try the new system that will come with the animations

Bud, they made be undead, but zombies still have standards. I ain't eating no grubby 12 year old's brain, I think I might actually get a little dumber if I did, and I can't even find my hands!

I'm pretty sure I could jerry rig a shower post apocalypse. With a little knowledge and a generator/water heater, I could take hot showers...
People were washing clothes before there was electricity. We should too.
This all leads to a satisfaction moodlet. Opposite depression, things like hygiene, relative safety, stored resources, and a well made meal should make your character satisfied. Maybe it makes them more agreeable, maybe it makes them drop less happiness per day, I don't care the benefit, but I'm I'm in the apocalypse and feel like I'm doing well, I'm gonna be satisfied damnit.

As long as hygiene wasn't necessary, like sims, only optional and increasing a general satisfaction which can also be increased by other things, then I'd be cool with it.

So that's how immortal zombies come to exist in MP.

in a circumstance I'm not able to disclose - I'm having the NPC wait / disappointment experience myself about another game I'm super excites about. The pain is real.
Enjoy your Schadenfreude!!

Wow, you have to sprint a lot Never imagined that going to 10 is possible even with x1,5

Sprinting / running has been completely redone from scratch in the animation build. We'll look into rebalancing the levels of sprint and pacing and whatever else along with it.

I play in Bedford Falls a lot and bedford falls has a Camp Crystal Lake, so If anyone could make a Jason skin, or direct me in the right path (literally no idea how to edit skins and a quick search didn't really help), then you should totally do one of the two

That sounds exactly like the current system.
IMO this might not be one part of the game to overcomplicate. Even with vehicles the majority of the players will sprint everywhere, especially with the map as large as it is and as large as it will be.

In my opinion weight in bags should slow you down, and leveling up sprinting would reduce the weight penalty. Then, to go faster, leveling up sprinting should add points to fitness, which would allow you to run faster (but not ridiculously fast). Also, for all we know this animation update could add animations for different levels of exertion, so we could have walking, jogging, running, and sprinting. Then better fitness and/or sprinting could allow you to stay on a faster phase for longer or something.
In this way, players' focus with sprinting would go away from simply going fast, and instead become more about going faster with more weight and exerting slower. Plus, I love the idea of having a bag full of loot and going as fast as you can while running from a horde, but you have to drop your bag because you can't out run them. As it is now, as long as you don't pass that weight threshold, you might as well not be carrying anything.

I find most skills over 5 are far too powerful. In that sense, yes, it's OP. Particularly on multiplayer, against other players.

TheDreaded1 reacted to ethanwdp in Sprinting OP?
Actually, sprinting has always been bad for me - it attracts zombies faster than I can lose them.
Stealth is much more efficient for me. It's less endurance-draining and leaves you energized and ready when you have to fight.

TheDreaded1 reacted to ethanwdp in IWBUMS Nutrition Feedback - Official Thread
My playstyle already consists of 90% scavenging and 10% base building, and so far it has been pretty tedious. It plays too much of a role in survival - I'm now worrying more about my carb intake than I am worrying about the zombies.
I think that Cataclysm DDA did this one well - have a healthiness stat given to foods, but don't overcomplicate it. My mobile-base playthrough meant that I had to raid farms and replant them before taking off again, and then scavenging and hunting to fill in for the rest. I cooked some breakfast, I started my engine, and away my death-rig went to carry me to Valhalla. I had to watch my diet, but not to the point where I had to obsess over it.
In Project Zomboid, I can't even go from Muldraugh to West Point without losing 10 pounds despite me shoving chips, bacon, and whatever other fattening foods I could shove in my facehole.
What the team implemented here is exceptionally well developed, and I'm not disappointed. However, I have two qualms: I feel that the rest of the game isn't currently fleshed-out enough for this to work well, and this system focuses too much on weight.
