  1. The issue is that they could ban people for holding controversial views. it can be abused.
  2. I like both of them. so, whatever
  3. It does... but to spread it to trees, usually you have to walk into the fire and rub up against a few trees once you are on fire (if using a campfire). Or, start a fire in a building with ovens and just wait. if there are trees in the same block, and it doesn't rain, they should catch fire. ... don't ask about how I know the first one....
  4. Nah, its alright. It was just a little weird seeing a tree growing in the middle of a parking lot with no grass around it. I just wanted to let you know, in case someone else had the issue. as for my save, well, it didn't really matter (I was using a weapon mod that had an infinite ammo glitch i discovered while clearing the hospital, so i guess i was kind of asking for karma to screw me )
  5. the problem with this particular assumption is that the lore the game follows makes it so we don't know just what started the outbreak in the first place. yeah, but you'd assume that the clothes would have infected blood on it from the wounds/bites that infected the person in the first place. even if the flesh itself isn't directly an infection risk, the dried/congealed blood on the clothes would make putting them on an open wound a bad idea.
  6. *sniff* "Is something burning?" ....... "OH GOD!!!!!" *sniff* "Why does it smell like pine trees?" *realizes the smell is of natural gas... while using lighter to see* "OH SHI-"
  7. I cleared out the hospital and, when I went on the roof, I fell through the helipad, broke my legs, and bled to death. also, I keep finding grass and trees in the middle of streets, just to let you know.
  8. Oh. I knew I forgot something. What about Bayonets as an upgrade? I mean, in the distant future (if you care enough), or if you know someone who can add the animations needed, they could be used instead of the standard shove when pushing the spacebar. While I dont know the legality of them, I do know that they are sold in Army surplus stores. This is mainly so that i can use an older bolt action without panicking when attacked from an unexpected position. Its just a thought.
  9. if leaving the quarantine zone from the exit by the police station, you follow the road to the first intersection (at the playground outside the fence) and turn right (in relation to the character.) You keep walking until you get to the group of houses. The house in question is the first or second house on the right (in relation to the character.) Don't worry about breaking my immersion, I was supposed to be working anyway and it was kind of funny anyway
  10. one small issue I had at one of the houses just north of the quarantine zone. I was climbing the staircase and ended up on the roof, before falling down and breaking my leg.
  11. for some reason, I immediately thought of Metro 2033... but with zombies
  12. Ah, the Barbie.... Anyway, when I read the title of this thread, I immediately thought of Saints Row 2's combat styles... you know, just going Bruce Lee on some zombies, roundhouse kicking a looter, that kind of thing. If there is an unarmed combat system (in the future, of course), then someone needs to make a mod with those types of fighting styles. anyway, a new trait/career for unarmed combat could be "Hockey Player"- less fatigue, lower infection chance when punching with bare knuckles, since it is the only legal bare-knuckle fighting sport in America.
  13. Here is the link from HK's website. The model is just named differently in the US. As for the commonality for the AR, I meant specifically the civilian model should be only slightly more common, like maybe 0.40% instead of 0.32%. but if you don't feel like the change would be justified, then whatever. speaking of which, I've found 3 M16s on dead bodies (redead ones, if you get what i mean), and none of the Civilian models. This is with only within the first ingame week in two separate sandbox saves. That's on top of finding more (X)M1014s* than I know what to do with. I am playing with abundant weapons (to get a feel for them as well as not wanting to wait forever to try them out) but it struck me as odd that I found several military grade rifles, but none of the civilian models. *The X is no longer in the designation, if you didn't know. it doesn't really matter to me, but its just a detail that some people more gun-crazy than me may complain about in the future
  14. There are already AR-15s, M4 Carbines and M16s available to be found, did you not see them on the list? As above the G36 would be difficult to find and I think I am going to leave it out, especially since I already have the civilian SA version the SL8 in the mod. The comment about the AR-15 platforms was more geared toward its availability, not that it wasn't already in the mod. It is an extremely popular weapon in America (in the civilian market too.) I wouldn't expect to find it in every household in the game, but it wouldn't be that rare either. Of course, having too many would ruin both the realism and the difficulty. (surprisingly, despite the stereotype, not every American is armed to the teeth.) But that could be countered with some rifles being spawned in poor condition, though I realize that it might not be worth the trouble. As i stated in the comment before this one*, there is a civilian version of the G36: the HK293 (HK243 in Europe). It has been available in the US since November 2013. It would be a rare find, but it wouldn't be impossible. *sorry about the double post, I'm new here and I screwed up with the multiquote thing.
  15. I dont live in america but I doubt a G36 will be easy to find in the US... it is in use in some federal law enforcement agencies. there is a civilian model, the HK293, available in America now.
  16. i know you said that you wouldn't make the M14 DMR, but what about the regular M14? Also, the M1 Carbine is still being produced in the civilian market, so it isn't rare. I do not know if the caliber has been changed, though. Maybe the M240? (The replacement of the M60.) There is usually at least one issued in an infantry squad in the military. It is fairly prevalent. It is also a standard armament on Humvee's, armored vehicles, and helicopters. Another thing to consider is the massive militarization of the American police forces. That means that an AR-15 type platform, in addition to its popularity in the civilian market, is very common in the arsenals of the various police forces around the country due to surplus military equipment being transferred. I forgot to add the HK G36
  17. I tried doing that to clear out a forest.... it didn't work
  18. That's actually happened to me in a single player game a few times. It might have been due to some mods i deleted later though.
