  1. This is a problem I've been noticing for a while, as now there are a lot more building with open second floors than before. But I reckon it might not be recent. So, whenever you are on the exterior second floor of a building, be it player made or vanilla, ALL OF ITS WALLS GET CUTAWAY. And as you can see here, it even allows effects like fog or darkness to get "inside" so to speak. If I walk out of that room, you'll notice that the walls still don't render. However, if I descend to the first floor, or even just leave the second floor and stand on the stairs- The walls magically pop back up again. Now, I don't have a screenshot of this, but if you go up to a 3rd floor (which I don't have on my base), suddenly, ALL WALLS START TO RENDER, 2nd floor, 3rd floor et al, and start behaving normally just like when you're on second floor. This is a problem that kinda makes second floor buildings rather annoying, for it always seems like you have no walls, and the fog gets inside.
  2. These ones specifically: Because believe it or not, people born after the 2Ks, that's what those shelves under the TV were usually for. Holding VHS Tapes and the VHS itself. So it'd be great if they actually functioned as they look like.
  3. Any news of what was that patch earlier today? Game downloaded a small update.
  4. The Military crates still can't be picked up; they wrongly give a "has item on top" warning.
  5. Again, you can fix all of that on the Sandbox; change erosion levels to make farming slower or plants more likely to catch diseases so their yield lowers. I personally don't even bother with farming for I've found it boring on pretty much every single game (except Stardew Valley) I've played because it's so one-note; the constant "just water the plants" with a hundred clicks. I've yet to find a survival game where setting yourself to survive takes any effort, really. After you die a couple times and figure how the game works (or if you're lazy, look it up in a Wiki), from the smallest Indie, to the most overfunded Triple-A, there's always a way to make the whole survival thing meaningless as soon as you know what you're doing. As for reasons to fortify your base, if all you do is know down the stairs and live on a floating castle, then yes, there's no reason. But playing like that is boring; you're literally gimping yourself to not have fun with it. Same thing as interior farming; you can just pour dirt on a house floor and plant crops in there; they WILL grow, but that's just boring. It reduces your gameplay to just "water plants every day". PZ has always been a game about making your own fun with the tools provided; y'know, LIKE A SANDBOX, but if you refuse to use those tools, or use them to make the game's challenges meaningless, then you're simply doing it wrong, or this isn't the game for you.
  6. Oh boy, this argument comes up a lot, so lemme break it down piece by piece so my answers makes more sense. And this is literally the case for 300% of all survival games. Because after that amount of time, you usually are already set up with enough stuff to survive forever. Stranded Deep, The Forest, NeoScavenger, Flotsam, The Long Dark; no matter the title, after that kind of play thru, if you haven't figured out how to become self-sufficient or looted enough places to have a big stash of canned goods, then you really haven't been playing the game right. It is simply the way all survival games are, and there's really nothing anyone can do about it. Complaining about it is like going to a vegan restaurant and complaining about the lack of beef in the menu. I'm going to assume you've never found yourself in a pinch, had to rip some bloodied clothes to make bandages, and had the wound get infected which causes your health to tick down. Because you CAN and WILL die of (non-zombie) infection in this game. No idea of how you have not seen that. As for base building, the whole "Ladders Out" thing, while it works (and many have petitioned for some solution for it), it now comes with the risk of the zombies ripping up your ropes (and boy they do it A LOT) and basically locking you out your base and all your hard-earned loot, so there's that. Until, after eating nothing but cabbages for a few months, you find your character so underweight you can barely take a hit or carry a backpack loaded with loot. Or the other way around, if you began eating every single thing you found and turned into an obese whale that can barely run or climb a fence. It's all there, but you will not see it with just a couple weeks of in-game playtime. It takes a while to make a difference, but it IS there. Sadly, you were focused wrong; this game isn't really about killing Zombies (showcased by how stealth is a thing, and how a fight against a big horde usually ends in death). Fighting zeds is a means to an end; you're killing all the zombies in this building so you can loot it in peace, not to make the area safer for future runs. That's simply not how you play PZ, unless you disable respawns on the Sandbox. That's the thing; Sandbox IS the experience. Or at least it'll be until the Story Mode drops in. Part of what makes PZ so good is that it's very much a "Build your own Zombie Apocalypse" Kit where, even without mods, you can basically use it to create whatever experience you're aiming for. Almost anything can be tweaked, disabled or customized, and by not making use of those tools the game comes with, you're doing the equivalent of going to a buffet table, eating nothing but entree bread rolls, and then complaining about the quality of the food after you leave. Here's the thing; you don't "win" in PZ, there's no victory state. If you're only playing the game to "beat it and win", then you're really not playing the game right, or it's simply not a game for you.
  7. Did something get updated just now? Game downloaded a small patch.
  8. Can confirm it happens to all Military Boxes. Btw, did some of these changes just got pushed to Stable? I noticed a whole bunch of power pylons showing up in previously-unexplored areas.

    Patch PlanZ

Since you guys are still doing Noisework additions, can we perchance have different radio/TV voice-mumble sounds? It feels so strange they all sound the same. I know this is purely aesthetic, but it'd make a nice immersion difference.
  10. So, just found a bug with those new "Metal Barrels" that you find around the refugee camp. In order to make coal, they all ask specifically for "5 Logs", and ONLY THAT AMOUNT. No way of putting 2 first, then 3. It has to be all at once. As you might know, even with the Strong Perk, CARRYING FIVE LOGS IS NO SMALL FEAT, and they can't be on your backpack, they all have to be in your inventory. This could use an option for adding the logs one by one... EDIT: Found two carry-over bugs from last IWBUMS. There are still Home tapes spawning as "VHS - Home" and you still cannot wash the backpacks once they get bloody.
  11. So far everything good on this patch. Only issue I notice is a very slight stutter when driving; I can tell the FPS is dropping to around 29, but again, I am on Win7, so I remember that fancy garbage collector from a few patches ago was Win10 only. As for things that bother me, can we make the clock in the corner bigger? I have a big-huge monitor with high res, and it looks very tiny, to the point I have to move closer to my screen to read the temp. I just found the option for this, and it's apparently broken- The "Large" setting does not enlarge the clock, it only moves it one inch to the left. EDIT: Looks like closing and relaunching the game fixes the Large Clock. It's fine now.
  12. I know it ain't really the time for this kind of request, but I gotta ask since you guys are doing it- Can we have some more lore/livery varieties of other models? Like say, an US Army Rancher, a GigaMart Stepvan (make icetruck, plz; I want Fridge on Wheels), some Darts as Delivery Cars for any of the existing restaurants, or an FBI All-Terrain. It's just that I kinda feel like the ValuLine gets all the love, while the other cars don't

    LVMPdoid

I have to ask, is there currently a "No December Release Limit Date" of sorts? As if, if the MP has not been released before X day in December, it'll be released in January instead?
  14. I get the feeling that those car keys spawn on the zed when the zed itself spawned; and boy THEY CAN WALK. I once found a cop zed in Dixie carrying the keys to a patrol car in WP...

    Search and DeZtroy

OH MY GOD! THEY GAVE AN ETA!
  16. One thing you may want to know is that Panic is perhaps THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF PZ'S COMBAT; to the point I see the Brave trait as the game's hidden Easy Mode. Panic reduced both the damage you deal and your chances of killing a zed outright on a single blow. So even if you're a Super-Roided Coward, you'll have a harder time killing zed than a Brave No-Muscles...

    VHS: Home

I'm having this exact same problem; some VHS sometimes spawn as "VHS - Home", but... When I close and relaunch the game, they change. I once went on a loot run on WP, and got like 7 of those "VHS - Home" tapes, none of which would play. But, after a while, I noticed they all took names, and now only one's left, and it gives an error (red box on corner) when I try to play it. console.txt Console logs here. Edit: Forgot to mention I've had this issue since patch 54, so it's not something that came with patch 55.

    TPDOID

Prolly the system that chooses what houses to spawn had a hiccup and spawned two of the same.

Any chance of the "Furniture invisible while in cars" bug to be fixed?
  20. Does it happen to be one of those named "VHS - Home"? I can't play THOSE in particular. All others work fine. Dunno what's wrong with those...
  21. Any chance we can have normal metal barrels (those found in game) serve as storage for Gas? That's one thing we're really missing. We already have two good ways to store water (Rain Barrels and Water Fountains), but none to store Gas (besides gas cans, which aren't very weight-efficient).
  22. That's the thing, I wasn't plumbing to a rain barrel, but just to mainline water, as it hasn't cut off yet. However, I found a rather dumb fix to making that work; all you need is a rain barrel on top for the plumbing option to show up, you plumb the sink, remove the barrel, and the sink automatically switches to mainline water.
  23. I think I found out why cars don't sound great; their sound (and in fact, a lot of sounds) are affected by ZOOM. If you zoom all the way in, the car sounds fine, but nobody drives zoom'd in. So I zoom all the way out, and the car sounds less like a car and more like an air conditioner. Seems like the new sounds are affected by how much zoom you have.
  24. I can confirm this happened to me as well. Not just with metal shelves, but also with Green Wall Shelf (the gun locker). No matter what you do, you won't be able to place it in the right place. However, if you craft it using metal work, and never move it, it'll stay where it's supposed to. Not the best fix, but it works.
