I'm still all for the idea of being able to collect rainwater with just buckets. They aren't the easiest things to find in the first place so yeah. Hell, even things like empty pop/water bottles would collect small amounts, though this has probably been discussed before.

This is perhaps the biggest realistic element I see missing in this game...

Why can we not move around or remove the stuff within our base? Why can't we grab some stuff from other places and bring it to our home? And finally, why do we have to use the Sledge to remove furniture instead of just, like, grabbing it and trowing it away (something which, by itself, is pretty unrealistic. See my other thread for my suggestions for the Sledge.)?

If it was the Zombie Apoc, what would stop us from grabbing a chair or a BBQ from the backyard of our already-zedified neighbors? If we need water, what would stop us from grabbing one of those office water fountains and bringing them home? Or why can't we grab another freezer to store our perishables once the other one's full?

This feature NEEDS to happen. Because in a game that's about realism, having to use a slege to destroy a garden chair instead of just moving it away completely destroys the realism....

In the foraging aspect of the game it would nice to see some sort way to survive to be more dependent way by fishing [and yes i know there is a wooden lance to fish]

stone knife [works just like a Kitchen knife, survival knife but much weaker] Making Twine [use a knife to clothing to make string witch could be made out to twine] Bone Hook [Can be used to make fishing hooks harvest able from zombie body's] Wooden nails [yes people have made mods for this but i think it would be good to have but would take allot more time or resources to make it] I would like to see what you guys think about these ideas and opinions on it

so in the game exists barbed wire, I assumed it was simply not working properly but recently it wasd brought to my attention that it is meant to be a useless fence.
first of all why can't I build the same fence out of regular wire considering it seems the barbs are not of any use.
second of all why shouldn't barbed wire do damage. I see posts all the time about people expecting barbed wire to cut people who try and jump over it and they'll be sorely disappointed.
Just call it a wire fence, don't lie to us and get us excited to actually create a decent perimeter wall, going around the map harvesting barbed wire. Expecting that because we skipped over all this regular wire the barbs will actually do something. Then get let down again.
Trust me adding damage to barbed wire is a positive step forward in this game. These features give the game some real depth.

Imagine Im running in real life, my body temperature obviously increases... I think this should happend to in PZ too. Running for 2+ hours our charachter should be overheating in summer, even if he doesnt have any kind of clothes XD... the same in winter, If we have a blouse for example in winter and we are cold... if we run for 2 hours we should be getting a little warm fom the exercise...

Not sure if this has been posted, I did look at the frequently suggested items.

So it's been awhile since i've played this. Few years, and I'm happy to see multiplayer is operational.

to further these aims, I've noticed that semi persistent worlds have popped up, with soft resets, however there are monthly resets due to the lag created from items (presumably lots of dead zombie loot)

So I'd ask, that with descretion left to the server admins, a script that cleans up items after X days.
items that aren't in player made crates or  other already preset locations are safe however items on the ground, "rust, or disintergrate" after X amount of days (X being the servers discretion) That way a semi persistent world can stay persistent without the need for hard resets.

    Just my two cents,

I think that if a player starts farming the plants should stop growing when the farmer goes offline...

    Or,

After the plant gets into the final stage, it should survive for a longer period of time... In fact the plant is alive, and should not die unless severe cold winter comes... because a plant doesnt root in 2 days after reaching its final stage

I say this because I can´t play PZ all the time, and everytime I plant I just collect rooten fruits/vegetables in the other day XD I never get to eat what I plant XD...

    Hey everyone,

I was a bit surprised to not find this anywhere on the forum, since it has already been suggested on Steam. Maybe the developers and everyone else has already heard of it then, but I thought it was worth mentionning

How about being able to block bathtubs with a rag or something, and filling them with water? If a player is trying to hold out in an urban area, it would be a pretty good water container, since an average tub can hold at least 150 litres of water.

This mechanic could also be used to fill sinks throughout to house. It wouldn't change much at first, but it could sure come in handy when the water finally cuts out and you've got 40 extra gallons waiting in the bathroom

How about a modifier for sandbox mode that makes it so zombies will purposely break windows and doors to and inside houses even if they don't detect a player/npc?

I feel like it'd make exploring a lot more fun. I know this happens sometimes to an extent but I'd like to see more shattered windows and broken doors too.

Oh, I used that to change it to slow since as I said it disappears too fast, and even with slow it disappears too fast. I might try very slow. But, yea it'd be nice if you could select them individually. I personally think the food is okay ish as it is default, other than well fed disappearing too fast. My main issue is with dying from no water in like a day. Would be nice if we could select the rates individually though~ And not just fast, slow, and so on, but actual numbers. Like three days without water to die.

Other than that, so it reduces the amount of damage you take? Or is that just bleed damage?

Random thought... why doesnt being out in the rain and getting drenched help against being parched anyway? All you would have to do is look up and open your mouth or hold your hands together to get a drink... Last game I died of thirst in the middle of a rain storm :/

It should be possible to let someone open a window at least after its broken no? No new sprites needed, just use the open window sprite after they open the broken window~

At the very least "that" seems possible as a place holder until someone wants to edit some broken window sprites.

I have noticed that, at least in multiplayer, some people have a nasty habit of undoing your hard-made barricades. I know for a fact that, in build 31, TIS made it so that a player may only interact with curtains from the inside. I feel that the game would become much more fair and immersive if looters were made unable to interact with barricades unless they accessed them from the side they were barricaded from.
P.s. I am tired and writing on a phone, plz no judge :[

unmog reacted to jefferyharrell in Stomping zombie heads even with a weapon equipped
If you're unarmed and you get a zombie on the ground, you'll stomp on it. I was recently wishing (because my baseball bat was a breath away from breaking) that I had the option to stomp on floor zombies even while I had a melee weapon equipped, presumably with its own hotkey. Would that be bad for game balance? I imagine stomping does relatively little damage, but the zombie is helpless, and if you're otherwise safe you've got nothing but time, so it would be a great way to keep that melee weapon in good nick just a little while longer.

(Yes, I know you can hotkey-unequip your melee weapon and then stomp away, but I've had marginal success with that at best, probably because I'm still a klutzy noob. Maybe I just need practice.)

They should be found in twos or threes in the closets or back rooms of offices (H. Smith Attorney for instance, or Cortman Medical), should hold on the order of 40-80 cups, and should be just ridiculously heavy. Like so heavy that it's probably more practical to leave the bottle where it is and go fill up smaller containers from it.

With the new medical system, there's actually a consequence of climbing through a window you just broke, which is great...for the most part.

Since this system seems to be in to punish people who want to get into a building quickly (e.g. when running from zombies) then maybe there should be an option to remove glass from broken windows to remove the possibility of getting injured. Have it take maybe 20 seconds (irl) to prevent people from using it when they're in a hurry, but still allowing those who are in no rush to actually get in safely.

If I'm alone next to a house I want to enter, and the only route is the window, I could easily spend the time breaking away the glass to prevent injury instead of just chancing it - it just ends up being a waste of time having to knock the door down just to play it safe.

Sure, you can just bash a window and climb in. With zombies on your tail, that might be your only option.  However, what about removing broken glass from a window? Wrapping your hand in a sheet bandage (towel, handtowel, etc) and raking away the leftover glass makes a lot more sense if you're looting, have the time (and if your cracking windows, it's usually because the zombies are elsewhere and you have some time), and/or want to reduce the risk of personal injury. Would be more time consuming than just a bash and go, and the noise would be audible though probably somewhat quieter (less glass to break).

    Thoughts?

If you break a window...you should be able to unlock it by reaching inside and then just lift it up and avoid the glass.
