  1. You can't fucking even say that there won't be zombified soldiers. this zombie apocalypse game takes place by one of the most HEAVILY GUARDED MILITARY BASES ON EARTH. Like seriously dude "Knox" county :P Machine guns i assume will be added, however i assume you will get little accuracy for brainshots. Brookes even tackled this in the failure at the battle of yonkers. The weapons that worked so well on humans had little effect on most of them. Because people die of being shot in the torso, and at most a zombie is paralyzed from a spinal cord injury and becomes a crawler. I don't think Soldiers shooting at you and eventually being overwhelmed by the undead counts as "Aid". And what do they mean by definite map border? I already stated, and stand by that the united states is not an eternal forest outside of a specific part of kentucky, so unless they make a scaled down entire USA i see no other option than an eternal forest after a point or a wall or randomly generated shit after a while. I was just looking for the devs to stop reinforcing the one boring concept that every single player has to be boring civillian cindy or boring average andy. It would work- really work, if some emotion went into this apocalypse. It just seems too neutral, not much crying or despair around. Characters walk around without any thoughts on the fact that the world is ending. Now don't get me wrong- i like this concept. It just so far is not pushed to it's maximum degree- i love this war of mine simply because of all the terror and sadness that goes into it. god i can't wait til this game is done and has reached it's full potential. I just don't see why the devs don't wanna do anything fun or interesting with their game. They just want a story to be Zombies show up. You die. The end. isn't that much of a plot is it So i have no clue how kate and baldspot can have any sort of a story with that kinda narrative. right now they are just posterchilds for the game, nothing else THE BEST most interesting thing the devs could add in is a lack of genre blindness. Meaning that in their world before the fall they already knew zombies, just as fictional movie monsters. So those movie and video game monsters become real things and since people think it's impossible, react even less properly than in a genre blind world through sheer disbelief What i suggested was not an ending at all. It would seem like one, but you would just keep on Going as long as you don't rp your character commiting suicide because they learn the whole world has fallen as well.
  2. I was thinking after 1.0 comes out , you will probably have soldiers on the edge of the map ready to shoot you as punishment for trying to leave the game world. since america is not an eternal forest for everything but knox county. But after a few months, if you decide to not have the military send in special forces that actually PWN the zombies, like, with knowledge of headshots, like those in DR1 where they with assault rifles killed all those millions of zombies. That after a while, the military transmissions become erratic, fewer between, and stop. When you go to the border, nobody shoots. And you can cut through that fence and escape. When you see a road, you are horrified. Corpses. Everywhere. Zombies aimlessly wandering, mostly of soldiers and their murderers. And after that maybe introduce a procedural generated map from that point on maybe please????? As a paid dlc? I don't care if it's 40 bucks, i'd buy it.
  3. in the future seasons, animals and npcs come in ........ I want zombie animals. If the devs add a Zoo with the animals that would be in a zoo, i wanna see a zombie elephant. If you played resident evil outbreak file 2, the zoo map, you'd shit yourself because a zombie elephanat is chasing you like nemesis and ramming through walls and buildings. AS A MOD! Obviously since they act like sticks in the mud to everything that is not precicely romero and brookes lore. even though the zombies will punch you when they damage you with no scratch or bite....
  4. The devs have no reason to make op real things not in the game. there's some in fort knox. they'll have to add op guns. These things aren't too accurate either. So getting a brainshot is unlikely. especially if there are thousands of zombies barreling after you.
  5. In essence, limit the amount of zombies that can exist to slightly higher than the population given on the spawn location picker. because i see hundreds of thousands and i know i see more zombies than this city could dream of housing.
  6. Essentially, this suggestion suggests the zombie speed of dead rising 1-2 zombies. Even slower than shamblers. To emulate zombies with a even more damaged brain. It would allow us to turn up zombie count to up to insane. Also it would mean that you could actually have a don't escape 2 kinda event on a scav run you see a massive zombie horde going towards your base, you run home. And they're so slow you'll have the ability to fortify and warn npcs to get inside and lift the sheetropes, and lock and barricade the doors. Now, zombie attacks are so short notice, you don't know they're coming til' they're right up on you. And if you see them coming, they'll get to your base in like a tenth of a day if you're very lucky.
  7. where they even that skilled then? even if so did they have the resources. Assuming the internet existed in the time frame that the game is set in, then yes the military would have the resources to shut it down. They invented it. They know all about how it works. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Internet Assuming this game is set in the 80s, 90s, or even early 2000s, the internet would be a lot easier to shut down than it would be today. The system back then was not as robust as it is today. A few DDoS attacks on critical servers/routers and down goes the system. Or they could cause some power outages in the areas that the servers and routers were being hosted and users in an area would not have access to most, if not all, of the internet. Or they could just issue martial law, go into the ISPs and turn off their systems, sorry AOL. It is well documented that China currently censors internet content, site access, and monitors what users are using/visiting. They can turn on/off access to sites at their leisure. Telephones are much easier to block and an average home owner can block their own phone system limiting only certain approved numbers to come through. I bet the military could easily do this as well. Radio waves are even easier than telephones to block. All you need to do with a radio wave is simultaneously broadcast something else on the same frequency at a higher output. Do that on all available civilian radio bands and no more civilian radio in an area. I work in a field where long range radio communication is a must and I can't begin to explain my annoyances with how fragile the system is. One guy with a stuck-mic can disrupt the entire system in an area. ECM techniques have been used since the turn of the 20th century. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_countermeasure I mean the US military had hidden radio transmitters in US made copying machines that the Iraqis used to print battle plans during the first gulf war (1990-1991). We homed in on those transmitters and blew up their command HQs!!! I am supremely confident they could stop communications in or out of a small rural community if they saw the need. Especially with one of the United States most secure and protected military installations only a few miles away. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fort%20knox Had the military not been jamming comms, word of a zombie outbreak would get out in the blink of an eye. News reporters and freelance journalists, the kind that go into warzones, go all frank west and end up getting infected, and when they get evaced, if we shot them down, it would be seen as monsterous, if we let them go, what happens when he turns in some hospital far away, bites his doctor, his family, starts another outrbeak? People's families outside the quarantine would start rioting and demanding their release, not knowing the nature of this disease, some rebellious people would breach a hole in the defences with a homemade bomb or ramming it with a truck and let the zombies out. Ending the world. So they have to jam everything. The military just has to say a disease is going around and the communications center had a power outage until they get everything under control or they bomb the city with napalm or thermobaric bombs.
  8. A must need for the very next version you put out is locks on the inner side of windows. WIndows really can be locked from the inside without a key. so why not. A sister feature of this is letting us lock any house door from the inside, since you don't need a key to turn the lock to locked or unlock once inside.
  9. all comms including internet are being jammed by the military.
  10. OR... Let us build a light source that runs off of a generator and not a battery.
  11. How about implementing sandbox options as to the limitations of generators. Like How much gas they use daily, if you can plug one into a gas pump, ect. ???
  12. all You'd need to do one thing On all ammunition, make a B32 compatible variant where you may extract gunpowder from rounds. since we need gunpowder to make pipe bombs and stuff.
  13. Currently, pumps not working with generators is intended according to RJ. I would like to hopefully see it reconsidered, as it removes a late game looting target, and its already dangerous enough having to carry a generator to the intended target gas station (as well as the many empty cans). Pumps are also finite in how much gas they each have as well (which really confuses me as to why using a generator to power them back on is a problem). alot of places force gas stations to have pumps that can work off of generators. Devs, please add it in. It makes it seem like you are trying to make things harder than they would be in real life. It makes all the work you did with generators suddenly useless after a while, because all it does is delay the electricity runout in the houses you have generators.
  14. I don't get it though. Cell phones were as just about as big as they are now in the late ninetys. So on tons of zombies i Thrash should be finding flip phones and gameboys in fact this means computers exist, and the internet does too. So when pcs come in, i think i should be able to take them apart and and use the circuts to make traps and stuff. All i want is a more reliable source of electronic scrap than searching 3 houses for some dead kids game boy or a teenagers CD player. But back on topic, this means that flatscreen Televisons are already out. Just not widespread. Like how color tvs came out like 10 years before it was very widespread as opposed to B&W Heck, not much Insane innovations that never existed in a lower capacity have really come out since 1999. Smartphones had less powerful counterparts, as did pcs, the playstation, Televisions, Data storages, cars, mp3 players. The 90's weren't THAT long ago. 15 years and not many totally new things with no prior iterations have been made. I agree with you though, i have a cool idea that if you set the time more in the future, new inventions spring up, like smartphones and stuff.
  15. Can i dismantle earbuds? if not, can you implement that?
  16. When you have the thick skinned perk, sometimes the zombie won't scratch nor bite, but you still take a bit of damage, and for some reason it is called a "Punch" by most, so i only assumed that was what it was supposed to be.
  17. In short, it would be awesome if zombies took disorganized, shaky steps, their bodies swung more, they tripped over shit, dynamically moving and animated based on a lite physics engine and they did not have scripted animations. Like, scripted to where they walk, but the rest practically like a ragdoll making a slight effort to walk. The head just flopping everywhere and jaw dangling. Some with missing limbs, knives in their chests. Some with broken legs, skin torn off of most of body, just muscle and bone. Make them look creepy like dead bodies! And most of all- add more sounds. From mostly hissing, to more vocal groans and roars, Take a page from resident evil 2's zombie style for all this. And a real pick at it, make them more scary banging on shit. On windows, make them ram their faces and chests and forarms onto it, like the opening scene of the last of us with jimmy pounding on the glass door. And them slamming fists into doors and backing up and ramming them. Allow a learning cognition in sandbox that will allow them to vagely use weapons semi properly by watching a human do it. Simple things, like swipe at you with a knife in it's hand, or pick up a gun and start wildly pulling the trigger, with a chance of it shooting other zombies or itself, or maybe it even grazing you. Let them pick up stuff and throw them, like pick up a rock and use it to smash in a window. It happend in the dawn of the dead and other romero films. You deviated from brookes because it specifically states zombies ONLY bite, they don't punch you. You don't follow that in brookes, zombies never give up. In this game, a zombie will get bored of hitting a strong wall and wander off. In wwz a zombie spent 6 days digging in the sand for a gopher, but the hole kept refilling itself, but the zombie just kept on trying. relentlessly.
  18. Since they hear so well i think i should be able to pick up rocks pretty much everywhere and throw them as distractions. Like chuck one at a window so the noise draws the dead from right up on my buttocks.
  19. Part of it is done for balance reasons though, as every house should have a ton of food in it as well. Also, while this is the silicon age, it doesn't necessarily mean project zombiod is in that time period. The fact that the earliest starting year is 2012, no. It's in modern times. Handheld video games places it no earlier then the early 80's. Home pcs were already all over the place by then. They were just shitty and ran on DOS, Macintosh and Windows 1.0 Why would we want finding parts to fix it to not be a chore?? The game is supposed to be a challenge Because if you wanna be realistic, they are literally everywhere and nobody is gonna take em but you because they are useless to them.

  21. Well, its indirectly tied to the patch if its about adding an electronics store to Westpoint (since speakers now have a use? Not even sure if its the only place they spawn). Perhaps a better solution is to have speakers as an uncommon loot in households. Not only that. But to make it not a chore to search everywhere to find the parts to fix a generator. Better yet, add in the ability to dismantle lamps and televisions and ovens and wall clocks. That will make it less of a chore. all of those things have circuit boards. Add in computers, just make them do nothing for a while, but when disassembled, give you 30 scrap electronics (there's alot of shit in a pc) This is all because electronic scraps are hard to come by when they should be dirt cheap, offices should be loaded with pcs and calculators and phones and printers and shit. You should be walking out with hundreds of electric scrap. This is the silicon age. Silicon chips and wires and circuts are some of the highly common things everywhere.
  22. Does west point have a electronics store? If not, can you add one in 32.3? Because each city would obviously each have at least one. There should be like seven radioshacks in each city. A radioshack is a electronics, and electronic parts store.
  23. Make the zombies have regular human strength. With a real crowd of people, if it were properly made, they could not destroy a log wall by pounding on it( or as the animation states, headbutting it) Instead, they could never think of it. Could not push it over if it is tied together like it shows. So basically make walls indestructable to zombies. A real human can't get through a 2 inch wooden wall with no tools. At all. period. They can make a prison cell out of wood and a person can't just headbutt their way out (unless you consider death a way out, in which case you can headbutt your way out.) I know it isn't balanced. But real life isn't either. The US having the atom bomb against japan wasn't balanced. It WAS unfair. Why can't it ever be unfair in OUR way.
  24. A) No one can answer anything relating to NPCs; and,B) Good. Cars should only be rarely practical. Thanks for just throwing those hypotheticals out there. They're really great for proving points, and junk. If cars are added, a bulldozer at mccoy is not too far fetched. And a bulldozer would be great for plowing through thousands of zombies. And also the perimeter walls of an enemy faction's base, with your engine and horn ringing the dinner bell for the zombies.
  25. One of the few things that Max Brooks has pointed out in his zombie survival guide is that the more densely populated the area you're residing in, the more dangerous it is for you to stay there. Towns should never feel safe enough to stay for a long period of time, except when you need to crash somewhere for the night and sleep. Your first priority after spawning in the game should be gathering what you have and leaving the city as quick as possible. Meta-game noises (ESPECIALLY helicopters!) Will make the hordes tear down through anything that stands in their way, including that one house you decided to make a base out of. Grab a few essentials, tools and get yourself moving to the suburbs, somewhere less packed with zombies. You see, that does not work when the suburbs are populated like downtown new york city. As a matter of fact, an oddity at that, downtown muldraugh is LESS populated than the suburbs.
