  1. I agree, except for the floors. With the movable furniture system, the wooden floor built by player seems to act as the base for all other floors to go on. As such, unless they modify that system, it may be hard to implement as the wooden floor overide whatever tile it's on. At least that's the way I understand it.
  2. There is an alternate way to do it, but it's an hassle nonetheless : equip the radio to either primary or secondary. As an added bonus it will automaticaly open the device option window. I do agree that it's somewhat of a chores to go through each radio individualy... especialy since I usualy wait until I have a few piles to remove the batteries then dismantle the radios.
  3. Definitely want to be able to replace door knobs without breaking down the door and occasionaly the wall or the door frame in my base. I like the way you're going with this Or at least show door knob you have a key for in yellow while the list is opened? (akin to how doors work at the moment)
  4. Yes, please yes! We already have an auto drink for water, why not this? I would also want to add a suggestion concerning keys (if it's possible) : make the duplicate keys (for the same doors) stack together without having to scroll through a list of tens of keys to spot duplicate. It would be great for multiplayer (sharing keys with team member) and single player (discarding useless duplicates) alike.

    Holes

I like the furrow and grave part. The trenches or linkable holes could've been a good idea too. I'm not sure about the watering hole as it require for water level to drop down periodicaly. In itself, I think that feature (water level droping down periodicaly) would be a great addition because even rain collector barrel are subject to evaporation. Watering hole could be 2 or 3 time as much to account from water seeping in the ground (2 with cement, 3 without). As for the stash, I'm against it in the actual game state. Your idea would require that grass could be put back (unless it was under sand/gravel), or the brown dirt would be a dead giveaway. Granted you could scrape large amount of dirt from the surroundings to try and make it insconpicuous, but player may develop an habit of searching any dirt spot they find for stashes. For the single player use of stash, I found a way to get rid permanently of Junk so I don't think I'd ever need to do landfills. I stack as many zombies as I can in as neat of a pile as I can. Then I put the stuff I don't want in their inventory (10 max each). After that, I just need a lighter and a very small amount of gas to select "burn corpse" on just one of them.
  6. Until they fix a certain glitch with inventory, lowering carry capacity is useless. Speed has already been adressed. As for your initial post : good idea
  7. But what if after a lot hardwork and patience you're proud to show your world to a few friends? Couldn't there be an upload function to allow a single transfer? That may impossible to do while having safeguards against the real problem you describe. I'll let you be the judge of that.
  8. Good idea And when there's vehicule there could be some Plow too Oh no, now I got this stuck in my head :
  9. Yeah, by law there is a certain minimum/ratio per employee that must be kept at all times. It varies depending on the type of work done. The following should be in no way regarded as a legal advice, nor a complete state of law regarding that matter. For any legal advice, consult a legal professionnal that can legaly practice in your jurisdiction. Occupational Safety and Health Standards Medical and First Aid https://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=STANDARDS&p_id=9807 Appendix A to § 1910.151 -- First aid kits (Non-Mandatory) First aid supplies are required to be readily available under paragraph § 1910.151(b). An example of the minimal contents of a generic first aid kit is described in American National Standard (ANSI) Z308.1-1998 "Minimum Requirements for Workplace First-aid Kits." The contents of the kit listed in the ANSI standard should be adequate for small worksites. When larger operations or multiple operations are being conducted at the same location, employers should determine the need for additional first aid kits at the worksite, additional types of first aid equipment and supplies and additional quantities and types of supplies and equipment in the first aid kits. In a similar fashion, employers who have unique or changing first-aid needs in their workplace may need to enhance their first-aid kits. The employer can use the OSHA 300 log, OSHA 301 log, or other reports to identify these unique problems. Consultation from the local fire/rescue department, appropriate medical professional, or local emergency room may be helpful to employers in these circumstances. By assessing the specific needs of their workplace, employers can ensure that reasonably anticipated supplies are available. Employers should assess the specific needs of their worksite periodically and augment the first aid kit appropriately. If it is reasonably anticipated that employees will be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials while using first aid supplies, employers are required to provide appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Exposure to Blood borne Pathogens standard, § 1910.1030(d)(3) (56 FR 64175). This standard lists appropriate PPE for this type of exposure, such as gloves, gowns, face shields, masks, and eye protection. [63 FR 33450, June 18, 1998; 70 FR 1141, Jan. 5, 2005; 76 FR 80739, Dec. 27, 2011] 1910.151(b) - In the absence of an infirmary, clinic, or hospital in near proximity to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid. Adequate first aid supplies shall be readily available. (https://www.osha.gov/pls/oshaweb/owadisp.show_document?p_table=STANDARDS&p_id=9806) What I gather from this There is a list of 18 interpretation documents available, but most if not all are posterior to 1991. A lot more research is required to gather mostly historic data. And we must not forget that it's not because there's a law, regulation or directive that it is automaticaly respected by all. To this day, I have to deal with cases of non-compliance from time to time.
  10. Last time I made the mistake of having some ropes in my inventory while placing sheetropes, they could. Thankfully you use sheetropes first, but when they are gone you use normal ropes (at least way back when...). It may be that it was removed, or not, I don't know. I've never made that mistake again.
  11. How about drying? Most things rots because there is humidity in them. If you dry them, they won't rot until they pick up any significant moisture again. I don't know about the drying process per se, but I use that technique after pealing fruit and vegetable (as well as the bits I'll throw away) by merely spreading them over a couple of newspaper sheet. After a few days they are thoroughly dried and ready to throw into the garbage (since I don't have compost where I live). From there, it can stay in a garbage bag for months without rotting or developing mold and such (and it does take that long to fill a bag... thanks to recycling). I guess it could as easily be done with chopped piece of fruit and vegetable, just need to make sure there is enough air reaching each slice so that the humidity can enter it (assuming it's relatively dry air... may not work in summer when there is a high % of humidity... then low heat may be required). Now meats are an entirely different thing on which I won't speculate (I freeze any meat/fat product I intend to eventually throw out).
  12. With the new(ish) movable furniture, and a growing number of pile of empty first aid kit I think it would be a good idea to be able to place them, akin to radios. It may require some nails, screws or other fixing mecanism (like brackets)... or it could have it's own built in kit to attach to the wall. There could even be two versions : the one we have now or "small kit" = detachable from the wall and portable a new one or "cabinet kit" = big metal cabinet with a lock that can be found in rare locations such as industries, the mall security office, etc
  13. It would be fun to be able to decapitate zombies (or other players/NPC) and plant their head on a spike. It would make some great decoration (although gory) and could give some debuff to morale of NPC not affiliated to your group/base. I've made a brief search and did not find this, which surprise me greatly.
  14. Since there are now compost (in IWBUMS), maybe recuperate methane to power a modified generator? It would require engineering skills for it to be anything else then a very dangerous "makeshift methane generator". At the very least, methane could be used to power gas burner to cook and boil water.
  15. Great idea Makes me think that most of the occupation should have a few "automated functions", like farmers removing plants with DWF under certain conditions, cook using spices only if there is a negative happiness stat, etc. Most of all, people eating cooked meal before raw ingredients, before non perishable food.

  17. Seems you are actually talking about distilling in some cases instead of brewing. Brewing is very simple actually... mix a few things that contains sugar into water, heat and let ferment (at worst it'll taste bad). (edit : correction... it does need yeast) Distilling is way harder because of Ether (it can be deadly!). Knowing proper techniques (as you suggested) allow to avoid that obvious pitfall, but as you stated it should need some instructions first (and maybe a chemist trait). (re-edit : and thankfully, distilling without a licence won't be illegal anymore )
  18. 262. Be able to craft "tissue" (handkerchief really) from sheet (best) or clothes (low grade). 263. Craft a coin bludgeon (need coins) from socks or purse.
  19. Very minor bug, using a laptop with 1366x768. Game set at the same resolution and full screen. Every time I come back to my save game, the window for containers as always moved to overlap the inventory window as shown below : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=772426697 Instead, it should look like this : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=772426960 It's very minor as it requires only to move it (but to do so every time the save game load).
  20. A, then F (see below) and if nothing interesting happen at any of those, then D. Assuming there is a 50/50 chance B Lab is the one where the sick man and others went (3 way corridor, we went to one already), chances are that delivery of the bioluminescent compound will yield interesting (and maybe dangerous) results... following the other corridor (left one) next should not take too long. Obviously I should be careful approaching both as... even as intriguing as a peacekeeper escorting a wild eyed sick man may be... caution is best (so peaking around corners and doors please!) I'm kind of reminded of the old proverb about curiosity and a cat... yet somehow... maybe we can be curious and careful? Then, if nothing too time consuming or sparking new choice follow... better get to work on activating that bioluminescent enzyme in hope to get some more teeth on our key as a junior scientist.
  21. Dude, I was also thinking on doing one of those. I'll wait until both of you guys are finished because I don't want to compete 1) E 2) K I'd have settled for Canadian (hint at my real location) except for the occupation and I don't like to commute to work. So let's say guard for hire (of soldier of fortune ).
  22. How far away is B Lab? Can it be chained with something else (unless there's something unexpected at B Lab)? Probable chained activities are D or E : E.
  23. 228, yes for weapons, no for saw. You were talking about saw breaking in 227 so I assume the "teeth" are gone. Only way to prolong it's life then is make more teeth (punching through metal at the cost of sturdiness/increased chance of breaking).
  24. I agree Also, if hunting and larger animals is ever implemented, I add to this suggestion that you could use leather/skins as well.
  25. Just a quick thought. I don't know if it's applicable as I've not tested it yet. Regarding drainable items... is the formula : Current weight = Max item weight x % remaining -or- Current weight = Empty item weight (if any) + [(Max item weight - Empty item weight) x % remaining] I'd personally vote for the second formula as the first one can (in theory) give result where the item weight less then an empty container (empty bottle, empty gas tank). Some items should be excluded from this (say a coal bag) as the container is nonexistent when fully used and of minor weight. Others may need some special consideration (say a propane tank) as the weight of the container in itself is noteworthy (the reason of this reflexion actualy). P.S.: Really glad you guys put that in there and this should be in no way seen as a criticism. I myself only though of the concept a few days or weeks before it was implemented (and did not make a suggestion) as it annoyed me to see a lot of half full containers taking valuable storage space. Just trying to get the idea further
