  1. Yes, you can install parts that are on the ground or in a backpack/container, but it automatically puts them into your main inventory first. And when you uninstall them, it puts it into your main inventory. That's what I'm talking about. (screenshots attached - note the "grabbing" progress on the second one, after selecting install - and the hood in the inventory and the Heavy Load moodle on the last one) I want to be able to install the car parts without having them in my inventory at all (weighing me down and draining my health), much like you can use planks and other materials on the ground or in containers to construct buildings/furniture *without* automatically picking them up. And have the parts that are too heavy automatically drop to the ground when you uninstall them.
  2. Please allow installing car parts that are on the ground without picking them up first, as well as placing them directly on the ground when uninstalling (at least the big ones: tires, seats, doors, etc.). It's a little ridiculous to be putting tires and car seats in our pockets (and taking damage over time from being overburdened) every time we detach them from a vehicle. Carpentry (and I presume Metalworking) can already use materials on the ground or even in a container without picking them up first, why not Mechanics? Thanks!
  3. I figured it out. Disabling the offending mods in the main menu does not work on existing saves. You must disable the mod(s) per save from the Load menu ("More" button near the bottom right). I had an old weapon durability mod enabled by accident which was causing this problem for me.
