  1. If you equip a wooden cage trap in your primary and secondary and you set the traps on the ground they will disappear from your inventory but still show in your primary and secondary hand (not actually there). Display bug only, it doesn't impact gameplay.
  2. I remember in my days we were bald and took care of our woman and had to worry about intruders coming into your home with shotguns while trying to heat up some soup and not burn the house down. Not like today where people of all gender run around just thinking about themselves (ignoring multiplayer here)... Bought it on July 6th, 2013 on Desura. Definitely, the non-MMO game I have played the most. Looking toward the final build 40 to get back into it and fully experience the weather system. Don't remember if I first saw it through youtube or discovered it in my various zombie games searches. I also don't remember if I tried the demo before purchasing it.
  3. Early on stew and/or salad with bacon bits. Bacon bits gives tons of cooking xp (or at least did the last time I cooked them, I'm waiting for the end of build 40 before getting back in the game). Late game: squirrel or fish stew with or without vegetable/mushroom depending on the season. Always minimize eating non-perishable for when I can't find food in winter. IRL: breakfast: crepes stuffed with banana and dark chocolate covered with my homemade caramel lunch or dinner: wild mushroom risotto with prosciutto garnished with fresh Parmigiano Reggiano and Italian parsley. Of course I don't eat the above all the time since I am trying to avoid gaining the Obese trait...
  4. I have been away for the game for some time now. I should finally have time to play in the next week or so. Really excited about the weather system and the level of complexity you are trying to implement. You seem to be taking wind into account to affect the ability to resist cold. That is awesome that you are implementing wind chill into the game. I wonder will you be adding air humidity to affect the ability to resist the heat (combination of high heat and humidity is harder on the body and leads to much quicker exhaustion). Finally, I hope that you will combine air temperature (at least) and moisture (ideally) to the speed at which food will spoil. A freshly caught rabbit in winter could be frozen outdoor and still be fresh a month later. A rabbit left outdoor on a hot humid day would no longer be edible by the next day. Love the progress you guys are doing on the game.
  5. Looks nice. Keep up the good work, looking forward the complete effects you intend to implement.
  6. Yes that's the type of things I had in mind as well and what I mean't. I just created my example to play with Spiffo from the PAWS movie (in game lore), not to suggest that specific story as the next one that should be developed.. But the possibilities are endless, go back to the Dark Age where the Black Plague was the Death Plague. Create a sci-fi game where the zombie virus are invading nanites that extract iron from red blood cell to reproduce and take control of the brain. Body Snatching Aliens. Or the ones you suggested. All could use the basic building bloc of animation, survival, movement, 3d sound, VOIP develop by TIS and introduce new map, new lore and new gameplay effect. Say the nanites, come following a series of EMP blast in the sci-fi city. You find out they were release by eco-terrorist who want to reset things. The nanites can detect uninfected human by the electrical emission produce by their brain. If a human moves to an area with an high amount of active electrical devices they would become hidden from the zombies. The possible permutation are only limited by imagination and competing priorities for TIS development time ... So that's what I had in mind when I meant new settings. I wasn't suggested DLCs of: Let's add premium channel content to the in-game television and charge that as a DLC; or Let's add a monocle for characters in game. People are going to be willing to throw money for a monocle in Project Zomboid. After all it would reduce the penalty of Short Sighted by half... I'm really not worry about TIS doing things like that anyway.
  7. Assuming TIS does deliver on all features and are not all burnt out by the genre they should make DLC of different settings for the Zombies (different location, different lore, different stories, different time period) and release additional features with them. Think Deadworlds in the All Flesh Must be Eaten RPG if you are familiar with it. For example a spaceship of raccoon type humanoid that had a malfunction with their Portal Actuation Warpway System crash in the zombie infected Atlanta in 1995 (2 year post infection). Radiation from their ship cause mutation in the zombies, but thanks to their superior intellect and finding the initial samples that were collected at the CDC they might just be able to find a cure and then material to repair their ship. Their marine squad of the Special Intelligence Fighting Force Operation would lead the way in countering the zombie threat. There might be outnumbered 100,000 to 1 but nothing stops the SPIFFOs... That way they could continue developing and making one of the best zombie game on the market while developing other type of assets and scripts in other different settings that could also be used for other types of games.
  8. The latest animation video has given me an idea for running through trees. The player should be given the opportunity to run through trees if he wants at the risk of taking damage (a bit like digging with your hands). Denser trees would mean an higher probability of damage. Any damage from trees would cause the player to stumble and stop running (the player could decide to restart running and risk more damage).
  9. I haven't found any bug per say. The only issue is that there is nothing to do once you've killed the 194 zombies (assuming that's all there is, couldn't attract any more screaming and running with the radio on)... Shouldn't be a problem with 99.99% of new players but just wanted to point it out. Maybe have a small Easter Egg if they manage to pull that off like: "Maybe you'll actually survive for a few days before you die. Let's see how you do in Survival." Alternatively, make the zombie able to zoom in a bit more on the player or respawn additional hordes once the population goes below a certain number.
  10. Where you encumbered (carrying too much)?
  11. I have used shoes like Geras as well or just opened all the doors of a house I looted. If you only play one game at a time you can create private tags in project zomboid maps to mark which house you have looted. But yes spray paint in the base game could be nice to have for that role.
  12. I found a shelve with items but it's empty. Adding and removing items did a reset to properly appear as empty. roughly at 10841x10251 The houses where this bug happens (3 so far in this playthrough) are completely empty. Bug is inconsistent I haven't been able to get it again in 2 different attempts without zombies.
  13. Cooked Steak can't be added to meat pie or salad. Should be able to add to both. Meat pie has the same problem has the cake except in the opposite direction. The 1250 calories cake became 5 pieces of 70 (350 calories). The 1080 calories meat pie became 5 pieces of 440 (2200 calories).
  14. Code for slicing cake needs to be reviewed. A 1250 calories cake gets sliced into 5 piece of 70 calories. It should inherit the calories from the original cake. I'm guessing pies will have the same problem will try to test...
  15. Skinny is not an advantage. It just appears to be. In real life less weight mean burning fewer calories (especially less muscle mass). So the fact that you are burning fewer calories is important. You need to understand that if your weight goes below 35 you will start taking damage and eventually dying.
  16. Agreed it gives you a lot of points. I actually play an unemployed character with only negative trait (129 points). I do that because I like the additional challenge and I also like to use it has an argument that regular survival with a balanced character is not too hard. That being said needing to find Beta Blocker (a finite resource) to sleep is not fun. Also if you truly intend to prevent sleeping at extreme panic level even when exhausted and want to keep the panic trait bringing you to the highest level of panic you might want to increase the trait bonus from Claustrophobic compare to Agoraphobic since it's in-game impact with the sleep system is now greater (since most of the quality sleep location [without carpentry] are indoor).
  17. You might want to reconsider the relationship between Panic and Sleep a bit. I like to play survival while taking almost all the penalties to see how long I can survive. The problem is that with Agoraphobic and Claustrophobic I quickly become and remain We should be able to sleep when exhausted (even if the recuperation from sleep is worse). Either that or to limit the panic level from Agoraphobic and Claustrophobic to Strong Panic instead of Extreme so that you could fall asleep when exhausted if the only source of panic is one (or both) of those traits. Otherwise you would have to use Beta Blocker to sleep. And since you can't see zombies even in front of your face when you combine exhausted, extreme panic and short sighted: having to seek Beta Blockers to be able to sleep under those conditions is not fun.
  18. Couldn't find the exact nature of the conflict. Tried comparing and adding the missing code with no impact of in-game digging. The main difference for now is that in Hydrocraft you can only Dig with the Trowel instead of also being able to dig with the Shovel or with bare hands (with a decent chance of hurting your hands and then not being able to dig until they are healed in the case of Digging with your bare hands).
  19. If you want to simply play around to see what you can do with Welding you can go in Sandbox, no zombies, make look abundant and respawn and go to the hardware store and have fun with it. After that, once you know how to do it, you can retry it with zombies and rare loot and see how harder it is to get the equipment and to do it...
  20. In ISInventoryPaneContextMenu.Lua Changing if playerObj:getMoodles():getMoodleLevel(MoodleType.FoodEaten) == 3 and playerObj:getNutrition():getCalories() >= 1000 then to if playerObj:getMoodles():getMoodleLevel(MoodleType.FoodEaten) >= 3 and playerObj:getNutrition():getCalories() >= 1000 then Fixes the ability to overeat.
  21. Pain is supposed to prevent you from going to sleep that's probably why. I'm guessing the implementation of the verification of pain versus sleep still as a few kinks since it's a new feature.
  22. The ability not to eat when full seems to work fine when you are eating low calories item. I ate a few carrots, grapes, bell pepper ect when full and had to wait a little before I could eat again. If I then wait to be able to eat at just below max fullness and say eat a complete watermelon I then seem to be able to stuff myself non-stop.
  23. The calories from the pasta item are not dropping properly as it gets added to a saucepan. Other items are being reduced properly as they get added to the pasta but not the pasta itself it remains at 3360 (although hunger does drop properly). Same situation with Rice. I was able to eat 21,989 calories between 09:00 and 19:00. I only hit the unable to eat twice. Not sure if you are OK with that or not. Finally with Home Cook and Chef you can start with Cooking level 5. Making reaching level 7 and the ability to use Rotten food in recipe fairly easy. Maybe disable Home Cook if you select Chef or Burger Flipper?
  24. Playing sandbox no zombies with nutrition option on. I read metalworking 2 and 3 and both disappeared, no new recipes appeared in the crafting tab. I went to the Gigamart in West Point from 00:00 to 09:10 I was able to eat EVERYTHING that can't be used in cooking in the GIGA MART by eating non-stop. Weight went from 80 to 80.36. Should not have been able to eat that much and considering everything I ate (didn't note everything but 20 pop bottle (since I still have the empties) 10+ bags of chips, lots of watermelon over 50 candies [Is there a dentist in West Point?]) and that I was only eating non-stop weight gain should be more. Both garbage can in the storage room had fresh food in them. Just noticed that there was no meat or fish at all in the entire store. I think this is always the case but I just registered it now. Will do a few more playthrough to confirm that. Maybe having a fridge or two have meat and fish would be good for the grocery stores. I'll do more thorough and detailed testing on the nutrition system later. Is it fully on by default in Survival? Is the nutrition test branch still active?
  25. It basically allows you to dig with hands using the same menu that comes up with foraging or digging when you use a trowel. There is a high chance you will scratch one of your hand and it will be bleeding. If your hands are injured you can't do it. Turn off all mods do a quick game and just go outside and dig you will see the option.
