Will helmets on zombies (motorcycle helmet, hard hat etc.) prevent them from receiving critical hits?

So that's why firefighters always wear an oxygen tank on their backs when running into a burning building! I thought it was because they liked bringing highly combustable gases into an already burning fire.

Or, better yet
They let you run a generator indoors without dying or let you go into a burning building to try and put it out or to retrieve belongings without dying of smoke inhalation.

Apart from nocive smoke, fire/generators have the bad habit of lowering the oxygen rate in the air, and I'm afraid a gas mask won't be enough in those cases.

Well considering the animation system being required for the NPCs the prime reason for a lack of recent progress on the NPCs, that the animation system was started about 2 years after NPCs were, and the animation system needing to be in before NPCs can be released, this pretty much means 100% that it's impossible that animation system can take as long as NPCs ;P

bumblemore got a reaction from PintLasher in The new radio Is... (spoiler, read at your own risks)
The scripted text is really well written but I feel like it moves way too fast! Is there any way to slow it down so that I can enjoy it more?

bumblemore got a reaction from ModdedTibby in RELEASED: Build 33
Can you make the radio transmissions slower? I can read them but it's a rush and I can't enjoy it

Sorry to be a hype-killer guys, but as you can tell from what we've all written up it really doesn't feel too far away right now.
[Not a guarantee! Let the rampant expectation, hyperbole and wonderment continue!]
EDIT: [sorry EG]

This thread isn't a complaining thread, it's a hype thread. I would hope that 13 pages of "Holy crap I'm really looking forward to the new features" would be taken as a compliment to the quality of the game.

oh i see means this is confirmed that they will do it, i cant wait for the next build guys
-
bumblemore reacted to Batsphinx in tv entertainment
This is in the next build, you'll be able to receive news/tv channels for the first week or so of the game

I was hoping for today based on how development sounds like it's been going.
I also hope so as I started playing yesterday only to find this update is due any time.. Now I don't want to play because this update is going to need a new map.
We should know very soon either way.

Well multiplayer games suffer from this generally. You need people on the servers to attract people to the servers, which is a chicken and egg problem
This happens with every multiplayer game which doesn't have the userbase of big games like DayZ, H1Z1, Terraria, Minecraft, etc. If Zomboid sells 3 times what it has so far, then maybe we'd have a shot at super-active servers.
Perhaps it being an Early Access game partly puts people off, partly it being a 2D isometric game, partly it being a hardcore survival game, partly being a long time in development, etc etc etc. There's no simple answer. I hope that once we hit 1.0 we'll see an influx of activity from a lot of our players who've perhaps not played for a while, waiting for it to come out of Early Access.

bumblemore reacted to BayCon in 3D Water
There are a lot of things they can do to bring more life to the nature aspect of the world, like random deer (that you should be able to hunt) as you might see in the country, trees and taller grass blowing in the wind as well as a better water animation as you guys suggested, sheets on windows blowing inward if it's a windy day and you have the window open behind it, etc. I can name probably around 50 things they could do, but they're busy working on some more important aspects of the game. I can see these as being post-release "beautification" features that they may add in some of the final patches after the game is complete.

bumblemore reacted to Zorak in 3D Water
Animation for water was "promised" long time ago. It will be one day but no ETA as always.
Animations for trees in windy day would also add a lot of live into the world.

bumblemore reacted to BoogieMan in 3D Water
That would be nice, right now that water looks kinda like painted ground.
Maybe even just a simple animated texture.

bumblemore got a reaction from CaptKaspar in 3D Water
Not a priority for the game right now, just food for thought. I think it'd make water look a little less bland without taking up much extra runtime.

Hey i did the same thing....but in the Sims 3.
Man i love having children in that game, making his birthday come and invite everyone and then remove all the doors and windows alongside all the lights.
You can see the fear in their eyes when the bathroom breaks, the cake starts to get rotten and everyone is a lazy asshole and somehow someone gets killed and becomes a ghost and the house starts getting haunted.
Good times, please give build 33
