    Hello again folks. Dipping my toes into the mapping pool, but after so much time away, I've forgotten how to fix the issues that I managed to navigate last time.
     
    At present, I've been following Ringo's new mapping guide as close to the letter as I can, but I've run into issues with the spawn points.
     
    Similar to the problem Xeonyx had back in 2015 the spawn point tool does not seem to work as intended. I am able to place the diamonds onto the map, but upon selecting them, there is no menu of professions to choose from. Instead, I have to type a custom profession (unemployed and all have run into the same issues). Either way, if I type unemployed and set the spawn points, the coordinates update on my spawnpoint.lua with the following:
     
     
    Once everything is saved and packaged again, I load up the mod as per instructions, find the map, create a new character (I've tried several careers including unemployed) and receive the following error message in the console.
     
     
    Can anyone see why the map would be failing to load? Am I wrong in thinking that it's the spawnpoint causing the issue (considering that the coordinates on the map and in the console are completely different)?
     
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I would love to put an answer up here permanently, as I remember the same thing happening 2 years ago!

    Another shameless plug, but below is the current map, getting ready for the alpha release. Please bare with the image - it takes a long time to load. Click it for a better view!
     
    There's a few more major steps to make, but for now the release will focus on the central roadway and the functionality of the buildings there. In updates to come, the outskirts will become housing estates, the quarantine zone will expand, and the map itself will become longer.

    Many thanks for finding this! I will attempt to fix it as soon as possible but it may not be released until the new version is ready!

    Fortunately we're still looking at several weeks, if not a good few months before any changes are made, but while this is in development, I will be using a new Workshop item, so that it will not affect the current version.
     
    Unfortunately, these changes will have to come into effect once Phoenix hits the final release! Unless of course people would rather there be two versions (the first being the original, unchanged and the second being the final version).

    Great work!
     
    I have however updated Phoenix to start further up the road and prevent the cutoff. In the future, this open area to the East of Phoenix will be occupied, so for the long run, this is a must!

    I wouldn't worry about the merging of Bedford and Phoenix. When I had planned the integration, I didn't realise that it would cause a merge (especially not with Bedford!). My fault for adding extra length to Phoenix!
     
    I will work on moving Phoenix further up the road tonight and reduce and cutoff.

    I wouldn't worry about the merging of Bedford and Phoenix. When I had planned the integration, I didn't realise that it would cause a merge (especially not with Bedford!). My fault for adding extra length to Phoenix!

    I have followed the instructions down to the letter, and everything seems to work nicely: the lotpacks and lotmaps are correct, the spawnpoints have been generated, the objects.lua is in place, and the .info file is in place.
     
    However, Phoenix is not appearing where it is supposed to in Muldraugh. At the moment, it starts at 38x36, but the map is entirely independent (black borders). Have I missed something?

    I can confirm that Phoenix currently works with the latest build, but will have more of the new assets added to it soon.
     
    However, the version that exists is fully functional.

    Found and fixed!
     
    My apologies for causing the death of your character! It turns out that you cannot walk across any form of sloped rooftop, so if you were to step from the flat roof onto the sloped, you will fall right through it.
     
    I've identified the area and placed some extra walls to stop people from having the same fate in future!

    I really shouldn't laugh, but the thought of someone climbing stairs but not being able to walk back down, before resorting to jumping out a window tickled me.
     
    Thanks for reporting this! It appears that I fixed the staircases of the buildings which are mirrored from this original, but not this one!
     
    An update will be coming soon.
     
    Thanks for reporting in, and I hope you find somewhere with crutches!

    Alpha 1.1 "Long Road Ahead" Edition
    - Major update to entire map, extending from 3x3 cells, to 3x5 cells.
    - Quarantine zone extended and populated with gunstore, toolstore, newsagents, police station, hairdressers, clothes stores and several apartment buildings.
    - Water treatment facility added to north-west.
    - Room definitions throughout have been fixed, but more are continuing to cause issues.
    - Spawn points have been reset.
    - Fuel has been added to mechanics and petrol stations.
    - Logging company added to industrial sector.
    - Balcony of death has been removed from warehouse.
    - Several visual glitches removed.
    - Zombie spawn map adapted to make particular areas extremely high-risk. No spoilers here - you'll find them.
     
    Many thanks to all who have played and tested this map so far! Hopefully this latest version will be a more robust and immersive experience for all!
     
    In future updates we will be looking at fixing foraging, map-integration with the rest of the world, and completing any further housing developments in the north and south corners.

    To coincide with the release of Manbearpig's First Look at Phoenix, progress has been made to recommend Phoenix for public release. While far from finished, Phoenix is now tested and playable, but there are a number of elements missing (including integration into the vanilla map and foraging).
     
    However, for those who want a new challenge, this is for you! Check out the video below to see just what Phoenix has in store.
