  1. ...At first I thought why not have smartphones not working as phones, but you know, having those apps, coudl be like a boredom reduction item ? ...Then I remembered the battery dies quickly on those things, so if the infection is oe or two weeks in, it's likely they'll be all flat.
  2. Heck, even a football shoulderpad can restrict a bit your arm movements (I did play football for a year), and it's probably more flexible and better articulated than other protections. So I'm pretty sure knights armor did restricts somewhat movements. Doesn't mean you can't do those moves, means it's harder and/or slower. Anyway, I think maybe we shouldn't get too fired up right now about armors ; PZ shouldn't be about being an invincible knight downing zombies. Or it would need some serious rebalancing to not be too easy ; even without armor, with correct technique you can get a medium horde down with a melee weapon. That said, maybe for when the map expands in a more dangerous area, or if the number of Zeds skyrockets ?
  3. Personnally I wouldn't expect SWAT/army/whatever to show up in a town like Muldraugh, i'd think they would have been way more busy elsewhere... concentrating on bigger areas first (and failing ) I could definitely expect a few (very few) zombie policemen/sherif though, without anything special other than the appearance, and maybe a high chance of finding a handgun on them (although empty or with just a few bullets) or whatever antiriot weapon they're supposed to use. Problem with missing limbs zed is that it will add some work on the animation dept., and once they're in, well... We will want missing arms, etc. so doing every combination would require additional work. Still I think it would be great to consider. EDIT : Oh, for the sheriff, add a cowboy hat and a sheriff insignia too
  4. And it's even more ridiculous when you're outside on a sunny day and you can't see the zombie just in front of you... Or is it a new breed of zombie ? Camozed ?
  5. At first I didn't like to have to pump the shotgun, but... Yeah, definitely love it. On a side note, it reminds me of Receiver, a fun little game (can find on Steam) which was more an experiment of a FPS, where all the gun mechanics had to be done manually. Sounds tiresome ? It isn't, and after a few minutes, when you get used to it, you just wish you could do that in other games. I highly recommend to check it, it's really interesting. so +1 for me. and -1 for the minimap ^^
  6. They are, I always clean the warehouse. Sometimes the right click is a bit dodgy and not precise, sometimes I have to toggle the inventory back and forth or the menu won't appear... but it's there. And now that the crates don't stay suspended in mid-air and the loot falls on the ground, it's much easier than before... As a tip though, leave a few in front of the windows. Even if zeds break the windows, they'll get stuck on the crates.
  7. Yeah, the "hold-LMB-when-they're-down" is effective, albeit a bit easy. Just got more than 200 kills on 8 days, and without cheating or mods ; I fought THREE different hordes, and I could continue, but was getting bored, as the hordes were just getting bigger... I'll have to retry, but it seems the bug which cause mega-hordes to spawn next to your sleeping place is still there.
  8. Erm... in fact no, I didn't. Yesterday unchecked the beta from Steam to have a bit more stable version. Today, after reading your post, I reselected Beta, Steam downloaded the small bits, and here I am.
  9. Is it me or does everything feels slightly faster (as in speed of animation, not actual fps) ? Also, a quick test seems to suggest i can now load my saves fine without the "black squares" bug. Yay !
  10. Hey guys, if you think the "fog of war" is too damn slow to dissipate, try to disable the shaders in the options ! Made it waaaaaay better for me (BTW I have an ATI Card).
  11. Okay sorted out my launching problems, seems like Steam didn't install Java, but deinstalled it. meh. Reinstalled it, everything looks fine. As I was seeing some fps spikes, I wanted to disable multi core to see if that would help. After restarting the game and loading my save, it loaded, but everything was black. I waited a couple of seconds, and then... I heard the main menu music on top of the game music. Then the main menu poped up, BUT with the UI elements of the game on top of it ! still both musics playing. pretty weird. A hidden Virtual DJ Mode ?
  12. Hi, Good to finally have PZ on Steam. At first I didn't notice the difference with the combat system, silly me. The old system wasn't bad, but I won't miss smashing a window near a horde cause I was grabbing loot... Anyway, another problem, less directly PZ related ; I launched PZ fine yesterday, wanted to play a bit before going to work, and now it doesn't launch anymore ? I restarted Steam, my PC, nothing. Validated files through Steam, still nothing. The debug window doesn't stay on long enough for me to read it so I don't know what happens. Anyone had the same problem ? And I agree the "fog of war" might be a bit slow now. Not sure it's intended, cause when I tried to switch graphics (G Key), if you use the lowest one (which sadly doesn't look as good, and my character's all black), the fog's speed seems normal. New rendering issue ?
