  1. So that's what my spleen looks like...
  2. I don't mind the idea, but don't forget that we're the characters here that we're playing are meant to be Joe Average Survivor; if Athlete or Stunt Man were introduced as professions then I'd say have that ability set with those career paths specifically. Also it's not something that you'd be able to do with carrying much past a bottle of water and some snacks, let alone a fully laden rucksack, and I'm not leaving my rucksack full of scavenged goods behind
  3. Omm-nom-nom-nom... and I've just noticed something new and improved! Thanks for the great title - it's like having an early birthday pressie!
  4. Because there's this whole 'hybrid' theory at the moment, I'll follow the sheep... for once and vote for the hybrid blend! ... ... please don't kill me...
  5. Because I'm a pack-rat at heart, I'd be interested in some kind of multi-pocket explorer/travel vest; would be great for organising my 'everyday essentials' in the inventory. In jest: Oakley sunglasses - I'd love to scrounge a couple of boxes of those overpriced suckers
  6. Unless the outbreak/patient zero is in Oz, I'm sitting pretty Steam or Origin?
  7. Been able to pick out what books to snap up during quick scavenging runs just from book colour alone is a wonderful idea will this be something you're looking to provide as a mod/adding to an existing one?
  8. Yep - when I ws staying over at a mate's house he left me to walk home from the petrol station; came back to get me when I was halfway back because I was the one who was buying the snacks wasn't intentional - he's one of those unfortunate 'true blue birdbrain' folks. You're stuck in the middle of the Zed Apocalypse - bicycle or motorised vehicle for transport?
  9. It IS a crowning moment of funny when you have a proverbial 'broad side of a barn' moment shooting at a horde of 30+ zeds with a pistol and you don't even score a skim-shot; that's happened to me a couple of times and when it does I always picture the front line of zeds trying to laugh at my antics through necrotic lungs and doing most excellent Beavis and Butthead impressions
  10. I hate to be a heel, but I think you're toeing the line... Sorry, behaving now Actually Viceroy's pic has got me thinking - is there any thought to implementing a kick instead of/including a shove as an unarmed attack? Dunno about the rest of you fine folk but I'd be more comfortable having a steelcapped boot attempting to knock over a zed rather than a couple of unprotected hands I'll post that up on the suggestions box.
  11. That's the same place I started forting up on my primary game; mine pretty much mirrors your setup except for the blockhouse on the eastern side and the very awesome sentry point you've set up from the main building. Great work!
  12. Big Hiking Bag, Hammer and Beef Jerky... in reverse order
  13. Just call him Shorts Nicker like a rather inebriated mate of mine did one time... not to his face, mind...
  14. It hasn't been stipulated as to how much time since 'the outbreak' it has been when you fire up a game, but I'd be interested to see if there'll be domesticated animals gone feral during the course of the game. I'd be more worried about a sprinting pack of starving dogs than the shamblers, that's for sure I've already been Ravage-d by the locals
  15. The way firearms synergise with certain traits (coward and pistols don't mix well as you may already know - I think I could be a strong contender for Most Noisy and Futile Death Awards ) I do appreciate, and it's helped me with balancing out my character traits instead of trying to min-max it so I get 4 good traits with 9 negative traits... experience is a good teacher Despite my jokes towards minigun mayhem, I would prefer - especially at this stage - to not have full-auto weaponry; all that will do is rip through your ammo supply... I talked with Lemmy and RJ about this at one point. It's doable, but I'm not sure it's doable in the short term. It may be a concept we can revisit later in development (no promises of course, after all I'm just the tech support guy ) Maybe this could be implemented specifically for certain types of career paths (police officer, security?, other 'firearms based' careers that may be available in future builds) when you start the game, and for other classes you have to get to a certain skill level before it kicks in? Just a brainstorm here
  16. And you thought this would be the most appropriate thread for this? Could be worse; I just read bowls as bowels... I think I need help?
  17. Or act like Ian from Fallout and empty half a clip into your spine and make your innards become outards... or something like that. But yes, complete agreement with you here; there's so many variables that could be added to NPCs so an expecting a lot of iterations here. I wouldn't mind some kind of trade system with NPCs being available, but that may not be feasible.
  18. Love the crowbar (yet to find the axe) but so far the most effective weapon has been the kitchen knife of all things - one stab in the back of the head and all over red rover. Just make sure you don't spread yourself too thin there
  19. I look upon this and for some reason my brain translates this as Groove Terminator. My mind is strange
  20. Generous Omnipotent Voracious Edifice Revealing New Ostentatious Revisions... I work in state government; welcome to the home of acronyms!
  21. Hahaha yeah knowing my luck and probable lack of aim I'd end up doing exactly that was thinking more of a fire/maneuver concept - bring the horde out into the open, make them all nice and crispy-little-critter, rinse and repeat. So no petrol bombs for now, which means no more sock-collecting - darn them I'll look forward to them in a future build.
  22. My sentiments exactly. I've only just been able to start boarding up some of my windows to my little abode (finding myself having trouble creating sheet ropes out of second storey buildings, but that's another storey... errr, story). So I'm opening up this thread to see what people have done to fort up their houses, and... holy heck there's some serious urban development happening around the place. Think I need to join up on some multi servers to see if I can get some tips from the PZ veterans... as long as they don't shoot me in the face with a fistfull of buckshot for being a clueless norbert Am wondering if there's a way to find your coordinates that can be used in conjunction with the map projects that are in progress? Would help me immensely with my tracking down potential sources of materials. Was also wondering if the whole Park Ranger orienteering bonus helps out in that kind of fashion; should experiment with that with my next character... and we KNOW there'll be a next character after I fall out my next window and my shinbones turn into shattered goop from the impact
