Project Zomboid (duh), but also indie games more generally. I'm a massive fan of Minecraft (esp. Tekkit, FTB mods) and love Towns and Game Dev Tycoon.
Also Open World/Sandbox games more generally.
But then again, I love FIFA too (game, not organization)

Outside of gaming, I'm into Science & Technology Public Policy, Program Evaluation and Analysis, and cyber-security.
    Also, skinny ties.

  1. So I've been hesitant to update to IWBUMS for obvious reasons, but I'm about ready to take the plunge. My question is, once I start up the beta, will I be able to switch between IWBUMS and build 27 while it's still available? I know, I know, you would think Minecraft would have taught me not to get attached to my creations or items because you can lose them in an instant....but I found all the books and I'm not done feeling good about my little library But I also want to do some up-to-date in-game testing for some wiki stuff.
  2. Should be writing a paper instead of this. Sigh.

  3. You are correct, though it's Level 4-5. At level 4, you can use 5% of rotten food in a recipe At level 5, you can use 10%. It's not much, but hey, it's rotten! That's why I have a crate full of rotten meats & fish fillets. Just waiting for level 5. .....or the grim reality of running out of good food.
  4. A minor wiki-related update on food: I've gotten the Recipe Ingredients page up-to-date and fully fleshed out. It should be almost correct for build 28 IWBUMS (so if you're on build 27 there might be a few discrepancies). And it includes two sections: Section one gives you details on the custom recipes (such as what thing you need to start them) and the ingredients that can be used.Answer the question "What can I add into _____ recipe?"Section two gives you tables on what recipes all ingredients can go into, and the hunger values for them.Answers the question "What can I make with ____?"The page isn't accessible from the main PZ wiki page yet--we're still working on the organization and updates--so you have to link or search it. I had said previously to check out the individual recipe pages, but sadly I haven't written any of them other than Soup & Stew. So yeah, more to come. I haven't decided whether to try my hand at the Cooking Guide, or whether I should focus on updating other major pages.
  5. I totally understand. I spent almost a full day just trying to figure it out and then fix a massive error I created with an extra set of brackets. I updated the instructions for adding new recipes today, so hopefully it makes more sense now.
  6. Hey, if you are still having trouble with this, start with the Template:RecipeLookup page on the wiki. If you click on the edit at the very top of the page (not the one in the documentation), you can edit the original recipes which get pulled by the template. For adding new recipes, there is a brief description in the documentation, and a little bit more info on the discussion page. You basically have to add the recipe with a new index number, and then add a recipe lookup line that calls that index to the documentation to get it to show up on the recipe lookup page. I'm sure all of this is more straightforward to those of you more familiar with wikis and coding. It took me a day and some reading to get it straight and fix a problem I created with an extra }}'s.
  7. I've been trying to get as much of the cooking update into the PZ Wiki and update some of the out-of-date pages. If you're interested in what ingredient can be used in which recipe, check out the "Recipe Ingredients" page (link here)If you want to see the details on the customizable recipes (for lack of an official term), check out the "Soup Recipe", "Stew Recipe", "Salad Recipe", "Stir Fry Recipe", "Sandwich Recipe", "Burger Recipe", "Pie Recipe", and "Cake Recipe" pages.More generally, check out the "Items" page for other info (needs more work though) I'm still working on a few of the pages, so some of it is still a work in progress of course---^ . Soup and Stew are about 95% now that I've tested the mechanics, but I'm still working on Salad onward. But until then, if you want to see the raw data from the in-game testing, check out the RecipeTestList.png file on the wiki (link here). It's also available at the bottom of the "Recipe Ingredients" page. Spoiler alert: It include 95% of all custom recipe ingredients, so if you want to figure them out on your own, don't look.
  8. Hey guys, first time post. I love the cooking update so much that I've been trying to get as much of it written into the PZ Wiki and update some of the out-of-date pages.
