  1. Oh it has? Dang. DANGNABBIT. Guess I'm gonna have to stick with mods to let me spawn tons of humans when NPCs come out, to create it myself. (In my mind it didn't seem that hard if they only added a couple of lines of code for the random infection, large NPC spawn amounts, and tiny new dialogue lines.)
  2. Here's a random idea I came up with. It would be very cool to implement into the game, but it would be very hard, and would require a lot of time. It would also have to come out after NPCs are implemented. Here it is: In the Sandbox options menu, there would be a "Start from the beginning" check box. (I can't really think of another way you would go about starting something like this, other than that.) When you check it off and finish setting up sandbox and hit play, WHAT HAS HAPPENED, I SAY? You have spawned into your jobs building in the map. (Police: PD. Security guard: Bank. Unemployed: in an alleyway or in a cheap house. etc.) The next thing is that there would be human NPCs walking around the map, doing their normal business. You may think this is strange, but no. "Start from the beginning" means beginning of the OUTBREAK. Or however else the zombies came to Kentucky. After about 10 minutes of being in the game, the NPCs would start talking about how some strange virus is going around, and then that triggers the game to infect about a third of the NPCs currently alive on the saved game. After however long you set on Sandbox for the virus to take effect, the population will start turning and CHAOS HAPPENS! Summary: Basically, it's a mode where you get to see the outbreak start and consume Kentucky. I think this would be AMAZING, because seeing people zombify, and have chaos unfold unto the citizens of Kentucky... That's just something you usually don't see in a zombie game.
  3. First, my house! Second, I'm not asking for characters to make footsteps every single texture they step on, only the puddles. That way it wouldn't be laggy, and you would actually care about the dead bodies around you. Of course, you'd make it so the footprints and/or blood puddles dry up over time. I just think a zombie or player killing something should be... More realistic? You're always so clean and spotless, after brutally murdering those 60 zombies that wanted to munch on your brain. Also, I know the blood splashes seem like it would lag the game out, but all I really would want is those meat chunks sprayed by zombies being hit, to be drops of blood. It could even be just a retexture of those meat chunk things.
  4. I agree, I love little details that add to immersion in games. I have maybe 15-20 of those kinds of mods for Skyrim. Do you know anyone that would be willing to make a mod such as this?
  5. This is such an awesome idea. And seeing other survivors as zombies might be another completely different one. That way you can kill people by "accident" and only when they're dead would their body show up as normal. You'd have to look at their behaviour a little before making a decision to attack. Though I hope there would be a way to cure this, as doing this all of the time, would result in you not being able to trust the game, having no idea what to do and if what you see is real. That's okay for a short amount of time, but there should be some kind of pills you can get at pharmacies or hospitals to go with these traits, or moodles, if they become that. Or at least you could bring the insanity down with nice things, like books and magazines. Maybe there would be a trait called Sadist, where your happiness goes up while killing zombies and NPCs, and so would your sanity. (Or maybe insanity?) If you get infected, you could bring the insanity to a whole new level. What I mean is, if you get infected and start showing the first symptoms, you could start giving a little bit more insanity as time goes on. Slowly getting more insane as you get more infected. It should go somewhat in this order: 1: You occasionally feel dizzy with blurry vision. 2: When you look at zombies, some of them look like an undead version of your character. 3: You start seeing dead zombies or NPCs as delicious, and want to eat them. 4: The moans of zombies start to sound like speech to your character. (Speech text will appear over their head saying things like: "Join us.", "Don't be afraid.", and "Come here.") Of course these things would only be hallucinations, because zombies can't REALLY talk. Idk, those are some ideas.
  6. So I have another topic in the PZ suggestions called "Neat Little Ideas". (Found here: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/10095-neat-little-ideas/ ) Here is one of the ideas I suggested to be implemented into the game, and more, in case anyone would like to make it a mod. For reference, humanoid characters or characters are NPCs, Players, and Zombies. Is sorta shorter for me to write. When a zombie, NPC, or player dies, a blood puddle slowly forms around the body, suggesting they are bleeding on the ground. The size of the blood puddle and how fast it forms would depend on the type of weapon used to kill them and/or the severity of injuries on the body at the time of death. Which one is added, should depend on the games limits. (List of blood puddle size to weapon killed with: Fists: None/Very Small. Fork: Very small. Bat: Medium. Kitchen Knife: Large. Axe: Large, and so on.) Maybe a humanoid character stepping on the blood puddles or other blood textures would give that character bloody footprints for a short time, resulting in interesting player, zombie, and npc tracking. Another cool idea, is that the blood textures should look different, depending how much damage is done. Ex: The blood textures should look gorier if hit with an axe five times, than hit with a fork or bat. Characters should show better blood particles when being hit instead of chunks of meat flying out and blood magically appearing on the ground when hit. Blood particles look somewhat like this: (But it should look more... Realistic, than this example. ) Well, that's my mod request. Get your brilliant coding minds working, and I hope at least one of these suggestions become a mod! I appreciate feedback. Thanks for reading!
  7. Is this a suggestion to add to one of my ideas, or a separate idea? Added to list of ideas.
  8. I like little interesting things in games that you have to be paying attention to appreciate. Here's a list of some that I will update. Ideas: Comment on this topic with an idea, and I can add one of your ideas. CheezeIsGouda: When a zombie, NPC, or player dies, a blood puddle slowly forms around the body, suggesting they are bleeding on the ground. Maybe a humanoid character stepping on the blood puddles or other blood decals would give that character bloody footprints for a short time, resulting in interesting player, zombie, and npc tracking. CheezeIsGouda: When a player or NPC has a bleeding debuff, they slowly drip blood onto the ground. Oops, bleeding onto ground from bleeding debuff is already added. -snip-: Have the weapon in your hand slowly break in appearance as the quality goes down. -snip-: I think you should change the amount of blood dripping depending on weapon, into amount of blood dripping depending on the severity of the cut, you could kill someone with an axe, but there is no guarantee it will be a large cut. malankatank: ...It would be cool when you swing the axe and one shot kill a zombie with a head blow, that there is a possibility the head could be lopped off. Also along the lines of that you could hack off a leg (making a crawler (we shall call him Stumpy)) or take off an arm. INoEmo: I think it would be pretty cool if, with some weapons, when it breaks it leaves you with something sharp (golf club stick with a pointy end where it broke, baseball bat handle that is sharp, etc) that you can stick in a zombies face for an insta kill, but you don't get it back. It would be like one last "fuck you" to the horde as they start chomping down on you. Thanks for reading, and please leave some ideas of your own, or any comments.
  9. Lol, that's completely true. I guess I didn't think that through. I may need to get some more sleep. Oh, and thanks?
  10. So I've been playing Project Zomboid and noticed an item called "Bricktoys". Obviously, this is Project Zomboid's Legos. So I thought of Legos. Then, of course, I thought of the horrible pain that comes with stepping on one. Then the idea struck me. My idea is this: Bricktoys could be able to be placed on the ground, and if a player or NPC steps on them, they get the debuff "Pain". Of course, this trap wouldn't work on zombies, because they can't feel pain. I was thinking of suggesting to add the "Getting a little weepy" debuff to the Bricktoys trap effects too, but that's just a little too unrealistic. This trap wouldn't be "overpowered" or "too weak", either, that reason being is that the Bricktoys aren't very hard to find, and you'd be able to use the trap over and over again, about 7-10 times sounds reasonable. If you placed multiple around a door, an NPC or player might step on each one, raising the "Pain" debuff a little more and more each time. Just be careful not to step on them yourself, or YOU might be in some pain. Edit: Maybe they would add 1 or 2 points of damage to the legs or feet of a player or NPC, too. Little enough to not be fatal. That's my idea, please let me know what you think, and be sure to share some of YOUR suggestions and comments in this topic, too Edit: Nevermind, bad idea. I didn't think this through at all.
