  1. You're sick and twisted... I like you.. <3 BFF's. It would be nice to be able to do this and even run across NPC's doing this.
  2. You can technically 'complete' the main storyline. There's just no 'winning' the game. But obviously the storyline will end, the devs can't just continuously extend it forever and ever and ever. Eventually they'll have to make some sort of 'ending'. But what concerns me about your post is that you haven't even tried it yet and you're letting this dictate whether or not you'll buy it. Not really your opinion about the game but more so that you're discouraged from buying it over something so tiny and seemingly unnecessary. I know it may seem like a big deal to you but you haven't seen the depths in which the devs have painstakingly went to in order to make NPC's and stories as deep as they are. Perhaps if you at least give it a shot once NPC's are released you'll change your mind? I'm not saying buy it right now as it's still being worked not and not entirely finished because that's up to you. But once finished or at least once NPC's are in I would highly advise you to give it a shot. If nothing else I'll even buy you a copy if you'll give me your word that you'll give it a fair shot. Then after you can write a review and what comes of it just comes of it. But I honestly believe that once you play the finish product you will extremely enjoy what they have, ending or no ending.
  3. I didn't expect this question. I disagree there should be an ending where you survive. But lets hear him out on the multiple endings. I always imagined Baldspot sacrificing himself to cultists in an attempt to get Kate out of a dire situation and later Kate becomes a BAMF (As she was throughout the story in my head) and leads an entire town full of people for a long time (don't know how long that's where the ending stopped for me.) So definitely has a point. Also I think K and B storyline should be coop. Just a thought. Optional coop I mean.
  4. Wow, simply amazing. I loved the finished product too. Simply fantastic.
  5. First I would like to get this out of the way. As a meat eater I think the whole conversation has moved into a slightly insulting way. I don't see a problem with a vegan and or vegetarian trait. Although, I also don't really think it's necessary. At the end of the day in crisis situations vegans and vegetarians do what they must to survive or they die. That's the simple fact of the matter. In my opinion it would be a lot more logical just to use a pacifist trait that adds depression when killing animals. Maybe an animal lover trait that has a negative choice as well as a positive one both with their own individual effects. But at the end of the day the vegans and vegetarians that refuse to eat what they obtain will simply die. It takes forever to farm and unless they stole fruit and veggies but even then it would be contradictory to the whole concept behind vegetarianism/veganism. At the end of the day it's up to the devs and we should really learn to respect each other and stop putting each other down. This is a perfect example of why some people *still* haven't learned that catastrophe's are only survived by mutual respect and agreement that it's better to work together than fight with each other.
  6. Okay, here's my idea and to the indie stone I think y'all will appreciate this one. Instead of 'unemployed' we should make an option for 'custom occupations.' In other words, the same thing but allow you to change the name of said occupation if you choose. This would take some weight off the indiestone from having to make even more occupations but at the same time it would fill in many many different occupations that were left out either due to time constraint or simply lacking the thought of it. Tell me what you think. 8 points to spend and the option to change the name from Unemployed to another occupational name of your choice.
  7. The 'average joe' uses bows all the time. Mainly hunters because bows are quieter than guns and come with a lot of advantages. I'm from the USA and I can testify there are *a lot* of bows and arrows around, probably more frequent than guns even. They also aren't all that hard to use either. Never used a cross bow so I don't know. But I have shot many bows in my short lifetime and I can tell you I've never had a problem doing it aside from when I was learning which was a 5 min process.
  8. So here's my suggestion. I suggest that when you go offline. Your character turns into an NPC with the only motivation being guard the safe house. That way, when you log on your base isn't raided cause no one was there to stop it. And if it is you'll be dead so it doesn't feel like it was raided in your sleep. At the very least this should definitely be at least an option at some point, please?
  9. OBJECTION! This isn't a suggestion! Lol But yeah, thank you devs! I'd give you cookies if I has any.
  10. I actually think this has been suggested before and no idea why this isn't a planned feature yet. I really like the idea and I support it. Sick of sticking my friends in closets...
  11. My only complaint is the random freezing which I assume isn't my fault but rather the fault of playing a really unstable build. But I love the zombie cam and the cleaning the blood. Y'all really outdid yourselves with this update and I'm very proud to say I'm a supporter of the indie stone right now
  12. Yeah, this game isn't as easy as people make it out to be. I don't know how y'all are getting so lucky but I've be devoured by hordes before and it was completely and totally not my fault at all. I planned and executed my plan flawlessly and some how still got consumed by a horde. One single biter grabbed me and in my attempt to get away they actively surrounded me and once I got away I realized there wasn't a single exit I could run. Upon realizing that I tried to fight my way out and made a hole slightly big enough to plow through but by that time it was too late and the zombies that had been closing in had caught up, grabbed me again and the hole I just made closed up and that was the end of my run.
  13. This is partially what I've been saying. NPC's and other things from nature will eventually erode your lifespan.
  14. I don't really agree or disagree but I see the point about destroying the spirit of the game. But yeah, I think it's worth consideration. Don't get me wrong, it could be fun and I hate to use a slippery slope fallacy here but this might lead into a bit more unzomboid type ideas.
  15. Well the security guard can have the ability to make noise traps which other classes couldn't have access to. But with the introduction of carpenter construction worker is tough. But carpenters and construction workers can both have special buildings only available to those two but different from each other. In other words both will have unique buildings unique to only them but they wont both have the same unique building.
  16. Well as far as medics go I was considering medics being able to know what unknown pills do. For example, a normal person wouldn't know a pill out of its bottle is an antibiotic or if a pain killer was put in a bottle of antibiotics. Thus, gives reason to have medics in your team. But yeah, meaningless by the end game is my goal here. Because the medics can teach other non medics how to be medics etc. So over time of getting your skills up anyone will be able to have a medics skills or vise versa.
  17. Okay, so I suggest better occupational traits. For example I had this idea of a survivalist occupation. But the survivalist would have access to certain building materials that other occupations wouldn't. Like specialized survival stuff, like being able to craft a primitive bow using wilderness things or being able to navigate better using nature or tell the time using the sun which others wouldn't be able to do (possibly having to find watches and in game maps.) But why not do it for all occupations? Like construction worker gets a better trait that gives him options to better buildings right off the bat. Something not too OP but that lets him get a foot up in that area more so than someone who is of a different occupation? What does everyone think?
  18. I've never experienced that problem. Zombies seem to be attracted to me even when sneaking at a safe distance away. So I would argue that the fact they can see through buildings his a bigger issue. lol Maybe they can't see through buildings but idk why they can detect me through walls without windows if they can't. But anyway, my point is that I'm concerned that any attempt to balance with NPC's not being in will be met with huge problems when NPC's get reintroduced. I see a very big issue arising right now of people saying it's too easy, then when NPC's get introduced those same people feeling cheated due to difficulty.
  19. NPC's will fix this issue. It has been stated before that until NPC's are released there's really nothing they can do. Your complaints are valid but have been addressed before numerous times. Once NPC's are in they'll steal your loot, they'll raid you, they'll do things to advance your story and thus making the game more difficult. The same applies for the meta-game I believe. Everything should function appropriately and sufficiently once the final piece of the puzzle is put in.
  20. If I may add some constructive criticism. I think it would have been better without the voice acting. Not that it was bad but it feels less like zomboid with the voice.
  21. The moment when you read a comment and are not sure if mods edited it or if the owner of the comment wrote it in that fashion... Anyway, I like it this suggestion.
  22. Yeah cause then you'll have reason to cut it in the summer.
  23. I always thought about *maybe* optionally being able to control NPC's. Like it would pick a random NPC and you would take over their story but you wouldn't get to choose which NPC you take over to keep the game from becoming too easy by picking the best off NPC you can find.
  24. I didn't know what to title this topic. If the mods have a better title then you can feel free to change it. Anyway, basically make it so that instead of how you choose your beard at the start, your beard grows out as you play. The longer you live the bigger your beard. Now don't take customization away entirely but have styled beards or goatees that eventually grow into scruffy face scruff if you let it go for too long. Also allow for razors to cut your beard (since they're useless right now) same with hair. What do you think? I always wanted a kind of status symbol if I survived for a few months.
