  1. Bloody hell of course this ends up being the first HOT thread I created. Mods, question has been answered, feel free to lock the thread to prevent endless loop of the same questions.
  2. Just an idea. You guys could probably release a hush-hush version with NPCs in it to active/trustworthy community members that might help bring in testing results and sharpen the image of what needs to be refined, like the IWBUMS but more exclusive to prevent armed zombie uprisings. Granted you may already have more than enough info like that, in which case disregard.
  3. Wasn't actually asking if it's going to be in Q2, I think it's pretty obvious it won't be. I'm just asking if it'll be another multi-month delay or if it'll be coming with Build 33 or soon after. Actually while I'm at it how're the vehicles coming? Breaking all of the no ETA rules here...
  4. *cough* ...so back in January/February devs said expect NPC update in late Q2 this year. Considering Q2 ends in a week and build 33 is probably going to focus on Steam-based MP, should we go ahead and kill the NPC hype?
  5. @Rath I know but my joke would suck if everyone started asking what Duck Tape is
  6. Build 31 Patch Notes: Duct Tape changed to Super Adhesive Tape.
  7. Assuming orienteering is made a thing it will probably make foraging faster/more successful from having the ability to not get lost in the woods.
  8. Care to explain the sandbox settings for making everything easier then? Because your reasoning still doesn't add up compared to everything else they've done. Its like going to a restraint and ordering a $20 steak, getting it then having the waiter tell you that you can't put BBQ sauce on it because that's not how the chef wants you to eat it. I paid for the steak, so I'll eat it how I want it. The steak is still a fucking steak. You see my point? Its an optional change that is realistic that doesn't make the game too easy (not anymore than nerfing every possible thing about zombies in the sandbox) because it's bloody optional, and as far as implementing it goes give me the file that checks if there's a point imbalance and I'll change the code myself in 30 seconds. Any other opinions you want to throw against facts and set rules?
  9. The thing is it makes the game more difficult in an unrealistic way. If that weren't the case I never would have taken issue with it. Even more so, the fact that it remains optional kind of destroys your reasoning. If you find that being able to do that makes the game too easy, why do it? It's not like making Strong and Athletic traits mandatory. Sure, disable it for multiplayer. But for singleplayer why not? When you don't have to and other people playing the game in a way you wouldn't doesn't affect you in the slightest.
  10. So I was curious and checked, but you can start with an excess of points for positive points (such as if you take a bunch of negative traits and no positive traits) so I wanted to suggest allowing the opposite, purely as an option for people who may want to role play as themselves. Because let's be honest, being a hearty eater and getting thirsty more often is plenty to justify being strong and athletic. For a challenge, people can still balance out their traits, but for the more casual role player types why not remove the lock? I don't keep track of mods so there may be one for this, but for such a small thing why not just put it in the vanilla? Code wise it should literally just be the removal of an if statement.
  11. And here I thought this was going to be about dogs.
  12. Well then Plush you're literally just suggesting the NPC survivors that will be released. Laws aside. Who cares about laws during the apocalypse anyways? The only laws governing NPCs and your interactions with them will be how they feel about you. If you kill someone in their group or take something of theirs that they wouldn't normally let you have, expect aggressive NPCs. There's your law, jury, judge, and executioner.
  13. As far as safezones go, a hardcoded area where zombies can't enter should never happen for the simple reason that it isn't realistic. I don't want to see a horde smashed up against an invisible wall trying to get to survivors. However, once NPCs are in you will presumably be able to get them to join you and they'll make their own groups, which will simulate safe zones by way of strongholds that are built and fortifications to buildings. And since those will be the home bases of NPC survivors, you do something to piss off one the rest will probably come at you, which basically acts like the laws cuddlepums initially suggested.
  14. Short and simple, no. At best I'd say a mod, and only after surviving for a couple years. If you can manage that.
  15. Average, not below average and completely incompetent. No one with half a brain would shoot themselves in the leg with a gun. It's common knowledge to keep the safety on and your finger off.
