    The new area looks quite promising and interesting but as others already said it could need some additions to make it look less empty.
    However, I was really disappointed not to find Dickerson Lake on the map. It would have been the perfect thing to fish in Muldraugh and it is even irl a great fishing location in Meade County.

    You can lock them as well if you have the key for the door knob you used to build the door. Just destroy a door you have the key for and get the door knob.
    This mod helps to keep track of door knobs and keys: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/14219-do-i-have-a-key-for-this-show-if-you-have-a-key-for-a-knob-in-the-tooltip-v300/#comment-177594

    11 months on survival.

    I am really enjoying the nutrition system. I feel it gives some longer term goals that were not previously in the game.  The system definitely needs some love to add some fun to the game.

    The new system has changed the way I play in a negative/unfun way. This playstyle assumes that non-perishable food will not be consumed unless of emergencies.

    Prior to the nutrition system
    Plant crops on a four day rotation (Carrots (for Rabbits), Cabbage, and Potatoes) First day, tend to crops and traps, cook four days worth of food. Second through Forth day, zombie killing, looting, fun After the nutrition system
    When over weight, continue the same methodology as prior to the nutrition system. All the sprinting and killing zombies will reduce my weight, along with rationing my stir-fry consumption to one stir-fry a day (-100 hunger each day). The over weight time period (90kg to 65kg) tends to last for about 2-3 months. I try to make sure I am overweight when winter hits. When underweight The under weight time period (65kg to 90kg) lasts about three months of dormant survival Plant crops on a single day rotation (Carrots (for Rabbits), Cabbage, and Potatoes) Every day, tend to crops and traps, cook four days worth of food (around -400 hunger) and eat all of it. Each of the four stir fry's consist of 2 units of rabbit, 2 units of potato, 2 units of cabbage, which for a character without the nutritionist trait would feel like a balanced diet of protein, carbs, and lipids. There doesn't seem to be a renewable resource that provides fat. Stand around for the rest of the day, doing low intensity chores. My feedback and observations

    My first observation is that the system feels too early for the other systems in the game currently, so it is very difficult to not give spurious qualitative feedback. Here are some of the systems that I feel need to be bumped up a bit before the nutrition system really fits.
    Currently it takes too long to gain weight without using non-perishables.  The additions of rice and pasta along with bread are a great step in the right direction. Allowing these foods to be renewable would provide staple foods to add additional calories to meals. Adding wheat and rice to the farming line up would go a long way. When trying to gain weight without using non-perishables, your whole day is consumed with the farming and cooking process. (Wake up at 800, finish cooking and growing chores at around 1400 to 1500). Increase how long each day lasts. Yes, it can be done in sandbox, but I only play survival. Allow meals to be saved somehow, you can rename meals, so I would assume you should be able to remake a meal that you have named. The basic UI for making meals is pretty cumbersome, while the cool crafting menu thing is awesome, you can't make multiple meals without moving the meal from your pack. Allow foods to be preserved somehow. I've cleaned out 90% of Muldraugh, and I haven't found a single jar or lid. I would assume cold packs will be used at some point to cool down containers. My second observation is that the nutrition system doesn't add any fun survival elements to the game, other than raising and lowering weight. Having a healthy nutritional balance should provide benefits, as well as the opposite bringing considerable negatives to your character. These positives and negatives should have long term affects, rather than a daily rating.
    Protein Positive: Increase in xp for strength and strength based skills Negative: Decrease in xp for strength and strength based skills Fat Positive: Increase in xp for fitness and fitness based skills
    Negative: Decrease in xp for fitness and fitness based skills
    Carbs
    Positive: Decrease the amount of sleep needed as well as the impact to exhaustion
    Negative: Increase the amount of sleep needed as well as the impact to exhaustion
    Balance
    Balanced: Decrease the time it takes for the "fullness" moodlets to change. If I spend two hours eating at a korean bbq, there is no way I am eating anything else for the rest of the day ; ).
    Unbalanced: Increase the time it takes for the "fullness" moodlets to change. Maybe add various forms of sickness.
    Thanks for making the best zombie survival simulator out there!

    I made several playthroughs in survival mode in Nutrition Test Build and IWBUMS Build 34.13+ with more than 3 months of survival. My latest test focused on self sufficiency in Build 34.13. I tried to live off farming, foraging and trapping. I managed to gain weight back after I reached cooking level 6. A detailed report can be found here and here. When winter set in I started losing weight again, but that was expected cause there are no foraging supplies anymore and farming efficiency is reduced. I still have plenty of high-caloric non-perishable foods so I can stop the weight loss at any time. My weight is about 68kg and winter is almost over even without eating convenient foods. Overall I think the nutrition system is working. It is hard cause you really need to focus on food supply a lot.  But at least you are not doomed to die well fed cause of lacking calories all the time.

    Summary:
    It is easy to manage the weight with convenience food. If you have enough ice cream and mayonnaise you can even easily gain weight back. But after electricity shut down it's getting much harder to keep the weight. It is still not possible to just rely on food gained by foraging, farming and trapping and keep your weight. Although I managed to ate 4 stir fries with a hunger reduction of 100+ each day for almost 2 weeks my average calories are still too low and my weight decrease slowly but constantly. I had 2 days within those weeks when I had to wait for the next harvest and was peckish or hungry once a day. I wasn't able to forage enough to keep the hunger moodle away all the time on these 2 days. The rest of the time I was usually well fed or fed.

    I finally managed to gain weight back with self sufficiency and cooking level 6!

    I continued my playthrough and lived off food gained by foraging, trapping and farming. In the beginning my weight dropped constantly for about 4 weeks (cooking level 4 & 5). When I reached cooking level 6 I started to get weight back with 3-4 stir fries a day + some berries.
    It is still hard to keep the weight cause you are buisy with managing farms and traps and cooking almost all the time. But it seem to work at least at high cooking levels. I will not die before winter cause of weight loss .

    Either there is a separate "craving for carbs and sweet food" moodle or this is shown by the normal hunger moodle. I guess for game mechanic it might be better to have it separate otherwise people get confused if a hunger moodle pops up shortly after or at the same time the well fed moodle is shown. If it is bind to the normal hunger moodle then the moodles for well fed need to be tied to calories intake as well.

    You are right for the normal hunger but there is also a kind of hunger feedback from your body if your blood glucose level is too low. Then you start craving for sweet and high carb food which is experienced as a kind of appetite or hunger feeling. If I only eat cellery and do some excercise I will surely experience that after 24 hours on that diet and this feedback is missing in PZ.

    Is anyone else loosing weight constantly?

    I feel like I am eating a well balanced diet (Primarily cabbage, potato, tomato, and fish (or small bird) soup or stews). I also will supplement a bag of chips in there every now and then just to make sure I am getting some fats. As soon as my peckish moodle comes up I make sure that I eat something ASAP.

    However, I have been progressively loosing weight. I now have the underweight trait.

    I tried to spend a day inside doing next to nothing (other than cooking food) while maintaining a fed or well fed moodle. During that time I was not exerted, but I was still loosing weight. What's worse is that I am capped on how much I can eat, so I don't know what to do here. If eating a lot and sitting around doing nothing doesn't cause you to gain weight... not sure what else I can do except binge eat on chips and ice cream, which will eventually run out.

    I am worried that if I keep playing I will eventually whither away into nothing. I have read that if your weight goes low enough you will start to lose health.

    How do I avoid this? Is this intended? Is there any data I can supply to look into this issue?

    I started a new game in 34.9 survival mode and carefully checked what I was eating with the final goal to live on farming, foraging and trapping as soon as possible. I had the same settings as in my previous 3 months 34.8 playthrough when I was loosing weight all the time.

    In the first two weeks I was eating what I found in fridges (steaks, pork shop) and I created some (meat) salads out of it or ate it cooked. Electricity shut down after 2 weeks and I ate a lot of foods (including 3 boxes of icecream) that was likely to rot without cooling. The next 14 days I survived by eating chips and other high caloric non-perishable foods.

    totalSleepPercentage=0
    totalNormalPercentage=97

    survivalTime=723.8006747395848

    Then I started to survive by only using farming, foraging and trapping. And since I broke my leg I could not do much running between months 1 and 2. I stayed well fed all the time and ate at least 3 meals with about 150-180 hunger reduction in total per day (stir fry made of bird/rabbit meat and various vegetables). Additionally, I ate berries and some small salads between the large meals.

    As you can see my average calories dropped dramatically from 3559 to -731 while my percentage of beeing well fed increased and the percentage of starving was reduced. This let me assume that actually stir fries, salads and other evolved recipes made out foods that were gained by farming and trapping have no calories at all.
    I continued staying well fed all the time and ate even up to 4 stear fries a day with 300 hunger reduction value in total but the average calories decreased even more:

    I'm at month 3 now. My weight is only 35 kg and I'm starting to lose health. I'm afraid I am doomed to starve well fed.

    In summary: I am not sure how many stir fries I need to eat per day to prevent weight loss. But even when I ate 4 fries a day calories dropped and I couldn't eat more cause I was well fed. So I assume there are most likely bugs in the nutrition values of evolved recipes made out of vegetables you growed yourself.

    Hey ChatNoir, thanks a lot for the awesome feedback.

    So yeah, I don't know yet if there's a bug here, but your numbers looks weird in fact, getting even more well fed but losing tons of calories... Gonna check those stir fry thingy to be sure there's not a problem somewhere, if not, then I'll have to change calcul again...

    What's weird tho, is even during your electricity days, you still lost weight.. As I saw in some Stream, people were able to gain weight, even went to 90kg after a month... So I'm quite lost there, you say you ate chips and stuff and that's high calories, so that should be ok...

    To be sure, I'll check all this things again, but I'm gonna re-add the calories shown in the character screen so it'll be easier for player to tracks bugs...
