    279. Fast and efficient bulk storage of moddata.
    I'm talking megabytes of data.

I have actually tried exactly that, but failed at the point where I need too much data to hold all the map information. When I arrived at several megabyte of moddata the game started to lag hard.

That's an option, but you'd need one for every custom map and combination thereof. It wouldn't be any kind of dynamic.

Worth asking for bulk mod data storage in the small but important suggestions?

We made a 'graveyard' to honor our dead . Ran out of paint for the 'tombstones' though. We put the keychain of each fallen player on a grave. It extends pretty far off screen

    D) - diverse knowledge around the area, skilled in many things. Who needs friends anyway?
    C) - as people above me have mentioned - blowing things up can never get dull. Perhaps the knowledge of how NOT to blow the explosive stuff up can also be useful in the future.

    [New]
Drop your cooking pot, bowl, bucket or saucepan on the ground when it's raining and it'll fill automatically! (long process, even longer for the bowl or saucepan, because they're smaller)
    Added black & red painting
Added Box of Jars, spawn in houseware store and groceries, open it to get 6 jars and jar lids
Added smoker trait: need to have a regular cigarette or start to gain stress/unhappyness
Cigarettes now gives less stress relief, no more unhappyness but give bit of sickness if not a smoker, on the other hand smoker get more "bonus" from having a smoke
Added a OnEat lua hook on Food items (called when eating the item, check cigarettes)

    [Balance]
Compost now take x100 more time to actually create fertilizer
Use 2 nails instead of 1 to barricade a window with a plank
Balanced how XP is given for recipes: lot of cooking recipes has been tweaked, opening jars/etc won't give xp while making bread etc will give more
Same for sawing log, it now gives 3 xp if your woodwork level is under 3, but only 1 xp point then
Stress now reduce the damage done by your weapons (shaking hands..)
Being stressed for a while start to increase unhappyness

    [Bug Fix]
When consolidating 2 water source, if the main source was tainted, the new source will also be tainted
The sometimes corpses stayed highlited bug should be fixed
You can now barricade with planks if nails were inside one of your backpacks
Fixed a bug when sometimes the paint menu appears empty of painting
Compost creates will now block you (can't go through anymore!)
Can't consolidate batteries, candle and torch

Oh hey, we should've posted this earlier.

    Kajin is a moderator now!

We all sat down in a big circle, ate some medicinal herbs and waited for a vision of the Divine Spiffo to appear. When the vision apparated it suddenly ran for the chimney, before turning into puffs of orange cloud - which spelled out Kajin's name in big capital letters.

So yeah, all hail the new mod.

I don't think there's a way to do 2) at the moment, you'd have to hook deep into the trait selection menu to accomplish that.
Personally, I think 1) is good, but make it cost 1 or 2 points depending on general usefulness and have them all mutually exclusive so you can only choose one.

For example, Carpentry is extremely sought after for some reasons, so I'd make that 2. Bladed Weapons is useful, but not really that necessary as a survival-mechanic, so I'd make it it 1. I think you see where I'm going with this.

I don't know what you mean by "enlightenment", really. It's always a trade-off between fun and realism, and while I concur that you could easily drop pots and buckets out in the rain IRL, both the actual rain collected would be very little (even the longer showers here barely see more than a few liters per square meter, and most pots have a base much smaller than that) and implementing it would be very ressource intensive. I've tried realising this in a mod and it took a ton of computing and moddata storage for a very small change in gameplay, so I dropped it.

So, if  you have another idea instead of "drop pots on the ground", feel free to PM me and we can discuss it!

Have you checked the trashcans and kitchens? I usually find between 5-10 there within the first week of gametime, giving me more than enough storage for rainwater.
Filling up bottles, pots, kettles, etc. with that water then gives me more than enough water to last weeks.

    Back to Study Central

Welcome to the unofficial-but-officially-endorsed statistical study on the causes of death in Project Zomboid.  This started out not as a study on causes of death, but rather on the number of scratches from zombies it takes on average to become "zombfected".  Alas, my baby has grown up into a much better study.

    The study is now completed.

Yeah, unless something changed and I didn't notice, dying and restarting in the same world with a new character means you lost all your character skills that you acquired like carpentry, sprinting, sneaking, cooking etc.
